http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ApJqGhBqa5E - kingfoot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4the word laser means something, my mom was a laser technition, but i forgot what it stood for completely.
through various searching ive found it was "Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation" and thats LASER, thats why we call it laser not lazer. - masamunecyrus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5@kylesellers:
The same dumbass that decided that it should be "Laser" instead of "LASER" or "L.A.S.E.R.", and now most people don't know it's an acronym.
Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation - JacNet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Finally, an article with pictures. =D

- driftwood07, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1pennyfan posted a comment other than 'But will it blend' ! congrats
- kd1s, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1And LASER spawned MASER which is why that little cell phone actually works as well as it does. A MASER being Microwave Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. It was first used in radio-astronomy but now it's pretty much everywhere.
Bell might have been a monolith, but every bit of technology we have today is derived from Bell patents. And they were pretty open with their patents too, particular the lab stuff. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"Who was the dumbass that decided that lasers would be better spelled with an 's' instead of a 'z'? C'mon! Lazers FTW!"
LASER is an acronym just like SCUBA.
Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3In other news, the Borg files a lawsuit against the doctors using lasers to perform brain surgery, saying the Borg have been assimilating people with the help of lasers for years.
In other other news, the lawsuit was settled out of court. The Borg assimilated the doctors. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Brain surgery is scary stuff.
Don't get me wrong, the doctors that do this stuff are incredibly ***** smart, but if it's one thing that medical science doesn't have a firm grasp on, it's the brain.
I mean, it's not like this set in stone method of how to fix things. You get a disease, or break something, they know what it is, how to fix it, very easy. Something happens in your brain... it's generally a procedure to remove that part, and that's about it. Hopefully what they remove fixes it, but it's not like they can cut in there and.. "Ah yeah, this is what it is. All fixed!" - Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Great, more medical procedures to extend the lives of the rich that I'll never be able to afford.
- kylesellers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow, the google ad for this page is funny:
Aranesp for Anemia
For energy lost to chemo-induced anemia. More energy means more you.

"if its got lasers im there" - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Pharmaceutical ads don't have to make sense. It just has to sound like it does.
- senseigmg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You see how my mind works? It's like a laser!
-Oglethorpe - 47f0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Or, in the words of Dr. Buckaroo Banzai:
"You can check your anatomy all you want, and even though there may be normal variation, when it comes right down to it, this far inside the head it all looks the same. No, no, no, don't tug on that. You never know what it might be attached to." - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Where does it say this poor guy was rich? This is a brand new procedure.
- CeeJayDK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Just a matter of time before "lobotomy at home" kits start turning up
- PeteyUK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1lol :)
- chatty82, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The laser is not issued to retards to do "lobotomy at home." It can penetrate matter to hit a target in the human body, but this might cause coronary blockage. A skilled practicioner can aim it at female ovaries to cause the cauterization of the tubes, which they call sterilization, but if they are fertile there is still blood accumulating in there, resulting in pain. There is still blood accumulating in the human brain when it is used to shoot a vein or caut-ta-rize cap-pa-la-ries in the head also. Not recommended by a homeopath!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Raquel Welch did this 30 years ago.

- kylesellers, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I realize where the word came from, but, would you rather have a laser gun or a lazer death ray of destruction at your side when the aliens invade?
- psygnisfive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1When are we going to start performing surgery with ANTIMATTER, thats what I want to know.
- diggerman32, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Why does everything have to run on lazers now?
