- iptfn, on 10/26/2007, -0/+3I've been training pretty heavily for the Army physical fitness test, and I just tried this. It kicked my ass, big time. I could not finish an entire deck. I could only do 351 of each exercise. This is a great workout. I am usually a little lazy when it comes to resting inbetween sets, and this helped, a lot. By the end, it felt like my muscles were tearing. I kept drawing the worst cards, too. I'd always get two face cards, then I'd always end up drawing an ace and a face card.

- sockdemon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1That depends how long I had to do the push ups, which was my point. I'm not doubting that this could be an intensive exercise, only that most people wouldn't make it so.
And yes, about joggers, that's also my point: they do 3 hours runs in which they barely become breathless. I've done hill sprints, I also did a circuit where we'd loop round one hill, sprint up it, then loop around the next hill, and sprint up it as well; the course must only have been 700 - 800 metres but the hills meant I was battling a stitch after only the first lap. Me and a friend went back to the second hill, which had a much steeper gradient but was shorter, and did a few sets up and around it with a weighted back pack: we forgot to bring a towel to wrap the plates in so, everytime we ran up the hill they would slide into the back of our heads, and every time we ran down on the loop around they would bounce into our backs. - erasedgod, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I thought he meant throwing the entire deck on the ground, adding up all the numbers on the face up cards and doing an exercise that many times. That'd be quite a lot, I think. Especially since if only 1 suit of each card came up, it'd be 94 reps.

- noumuon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1lol yea, i see your point. i tend to do pushups as fast and steady, while still keeping proper form, as i can, but many people would probably go lax on it. while i also can't knock a 3 hour run, you'd better have run a good 15-20 miles in that time minimum. i'd prefer to do 3-5 miles at a high intensity than do the longer runs, but yea, i was a cross country runner anyways and in competition there's no point in taking it easy. hill sprint routines were always a killer, although nothing is worse than a 3 mile route with a steep uphill at the very end when it comes to racing. :P

(you draw until the number is GREATER than 10. 10 doesn't could and you have to draw another) - noumuon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0umm... you have the potential, with this system, to have to do 160 of each type of exercise and then only have 160 seconds before you start again. can YOU do 160 pushups, wait a little under 3 minutes and then do more? oh... and jogging not so much, but go do repeated hill sprints and tell me runners aren't getting one hell of a workout.
