- Frozo, on 12/30/2008, -0/+18Wait a minute... All this time I've been drinking to FORGET!
- killdashnine, on 12/30/2008, -3/+17Awesome. "A beer a day is a-ok!"
- inactive, on 12/30/2008, -3/+13Its better be moderate ;)
- NikoKun, on 12/30/2008, -1/+10Supposedly, so does pot.
- diggit83, on 12/30/2008, -0/+6No it doesnt
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/10/23/health/w ... - jboitnott, on 12/30/2008, -5/+10But then of course moderate drinking increases the risk of a heart attack - so it's a wash!
- finger11, on 12/30/2008, -1/+6Just in time for New Years...
- rdldr1, on 12/30/2008, -2/+6So one can assume that heavy drinking eliminates the risk of Alzheimer's?
- darkhorizon, on 12/30/2008, -0/+4So if moderate drinking reduces the risk, heavily binging for the next few years should eliminate it?
- spiralspirit, on 12/30/2008, -1/+4I do believe the article and this headline differ. This claims that drinking reduces the risk of alzheimers. The article claims that people who drink have lowered rates of Alzheimer. slightly different.
- kkkondorrr, on 12/31/2008, -0/+3You're not drinking enough!
- divinediva, on 12/30/2008, -1/+4Moderate consumption of alcohol appears to be protective.
- Troy64, on 12/30/2008, -0/+3I forgot what I was going to say.
- sockpuppets, on 12/30/2008, -1/+4I almost the whole thing.
- Rjordan, on 12/30/2008, -0/+2All of my great uncles have Alzheimer and they were all Baptist preachers... hehe what a great correlation!
- calcio0fan, on 12/30/2008, -1/+3I have 15 drinks 2x a month, so on average I'm in pretty good shape, right?
- gambyt13, on 12/30/2008, -1/+3And Digg for loser trolls who need to defend their stupid comments
- yacinebouatrous, on 12/30/2008, -0/+2I'm tired of this so called "studies", they claim one thing today and next year the complete opposite
- The_Dude, on 12/31/2008, -0/+2I hope moderation takes into account tolerance, meaning what's moderate to me would kill you. Or at least make you fall over.
- inactive, on 12/31/2008, -1/+390% of comments suck
- 1337d00d, on 12/30/2008, -1/+3and binge drinking increases chances of dementia, and awesomeness
- painting, on 12/30/2008, -0/+2study: most studies are useless information.
- MeatMountain, on 12/30/2008, -0/+2Yes, but not in the way you're hoping. You'll just be dead from liver disease before Alzheimers can get ya. Frankly, its the better option imo so lets get drunk.
- plr4ever, on 12/30/2008, -1/+3Maybe it kill so many brain cells there isn't much for Alzheimers to get at.
- PB3K, on 12/30/2008, -1/+3Just because it says gay on the label doesn't mean you should be doing things like that with it. They have tools at the hospital for people like you...
- 4NDr01D, on 12/30/2008, -1/+2better to forget today
what I could have forgotten tomorrow - kkkondorrr, on 12/30/2008, -0/+1But not Alzheimer's!
As long as it's not Alzheimer's, i don't care about my memory loss. - Singerspell, on 12/30/2008, -1/+2But who can stop at just one? ...sigh... silly wabbit... where's my vodka?
- AncientWeird, on 12/30/2008, -1/+2a mouthwash
- kkkondorrr, on 12/30/2008, -1/+2Well, i'm no doctor but after going through your stats i recommend you start drinking right now in order to minimize the risk of Alzheimer's and also to alleviate your worries about your organs.
No-one will get their grubby little hands on your organs after you die if you start drinking Whisky like it's tap-water.No-one will want that rotten junk.So whisky is the way to go if you're worried about your organs ending up in some other dudes body. - kkkondorrr, on 12/30/2008, -0/+1One could and WILL assume, in this case.
Already inoculating myself as we speak. - sockpuppets, on 12/30/2008, -0/+1You're a binge drinker. You can severely damage your liver and heart over time as one. With that amount of alcohol in you you're probably drunk until the following afternoon as well, so don't get behind the wheel the next morning thinking you're sober.
- paker, on 12/31/2008, -0/+1I remember reading a article on Digg that said moderate drinking causes the human brain to shrink. That can't be good.
- martynda, on 12/30/2008, -1/+2Does heavy drinking eliminate it then? *please say yes, please say yes*
- SupaFlyTNT, on 01/06/2009, -0/+1Key here is "Moderate" that basically takes out most younger people who drink these days; the moderate Id like to accept is 4 - 6 beers at one sitting; but it's not.
Joe sixpack ain't drinkin them over the course of 6 days. - calcio0fan, on 12/30/2008, -0/+16'4" 185lb.. more worried about organs.
- pe5t1lence, on 12/30/2008, -1/+2Hooray!
- themonkman, on 12/30/2008, -0/+1If by forever you mean the time between now and when you get cancer, then yes...you'll live forever until then. At least you aren't as likely to die twitching involuntarily.
- bagboyrebel, on 12/30/2008, -0/+1And to anyone thinking that this is a good excuse to get drunk, fta: "Long-term alcohol abuse can cause memory loss and impair cognitive function. It's unknown why moderate alcohol use appears to have the opposite effect."
So basically, if you drink enough to get drunk your making things worse, not better. - jason210, on 01/06/2009, -0/+1which may keep the proteins from entering the brain!
- MrAsparagus, on 12/31/2008, -0/+1BOTTOMS UP!
- gyrfalcon, on 12/31/2008, -0/+1What new year?
- gyrfalcon, on 12/31/2008, -0/+1Yeah at least with drinking you have a choice what you're forgetting :)
- jason210, on 01/06/2009, -0/+1i don't mean to change the subject but i am burying the hell out of you.
- gyrfalcon, on 12/31/2008, -0/+1Does moderate mean drinking to where your memory is moderately impaired? :)
- K8MRE, on 12/30/2008, -0/+1I only drink in moderately excessive amounts...
- Rudegar, on 12/30/2008, -0/+1I wish the raiders of evergreen mills will surely put an end to be before cancer get too close ;)
- lik3ninja, on 12/30/2008, -0/+1Dugg for any excuse to drink.
- knowicki, on 12/31/2008, -0/+1Cheers!
