- KMye, on 10/11/2007, -8/+186This is a story about a study released today.
- arenas46, on 10/11/2007, -12/+149You're all wrong, you're on digg, therefore any reference to 'banging' and 'girls' loses all credibility immediately.
- SniperXPX, on 10/11/2007, -22/+151But the real question is, will it blend?
- Jugalator, on 10/11/2007, -10/+122STD protection? Ehh, banging without a foreskin has to be the lousiest "STD protection" ever. :-p
- IceZZ, on 10/11/2007, -34/+140I would never have chosen to mutilate my genitals. I rather resent my parents for doing it. These "cleanliness" arguments are mythology, not fact. People today shower and can keep their genitals clean. And if you're relying on that for STD protection, you really ought to have your head examined.

Yeah, well, I can barely last 30 seconds without the extra sensitive parts, with them I'd probably have a proximity fuse. - merlingen, on 10/11/2007, -25/+114Jews are the most optimistic people in the world; they cut off part of the penis before it's even fully grown.
- ftblstr2319, on 10/11/2007, -29/+117I have enough trouble as it is. Good thing they chopped off the most sensitive part....
- BrainInAJar, on 10/11/2007, -28/+115Odd, because I've gotten comments from ladies that they're glad my penis isn't all "gross and mutilated", and I use a condom so that's much more effective STD protection...
Maybe it's not something we should do to children, let them decide on purely cosmetic surgery as adults - JoeBaynham, on 10/11/2007, -7/+91@mightyarmenian
Paris hilton threads? - Jwoey, on 10/11/2007, -15/+95I would, if I had it. I wish I did.
- Hazardc, on 10/11/2007, -30/+103that just means us circumcised kids can last longer. obviously
/dont care either way, wasn't my choice, dont even remember it. - DietCoke597, on 10/11/2007, -3/+65You had some pretty ***** doctors if they were going at your testicles when they were trying to circumcise you.
- signal15, on 10/11/2007, -5/+67A poll just for Digg users:
http://snappoll.com/poll/200540.php
Stop telling us all in your comments. - ConfusedONE, on 10/11/2007, -3/+62This topic would be more popular if it read:
"Ron Paul has uncircumcised penis and circumcision caused 9/11" - Aldhelm, on 10/11/2007, -30/+87Look on the good side. Circumcised people will last longer because they won't be so sensitive.
- Tourney3p0, on 10/11/2007, -9/+60Maybe we can save everyone some trouble this time around.
If you're circumcised, digg down anyone who admits they're not. And vice versa.
I mean, it goes against everything the digg system is built on, and it completely defeats any intelligent discourse. But at least you guarantee your side wins.
On second thought, it's probably best to just go to a different thread. - KaiUno, on 10/11/2007, -26/+76@blorc
That's not the point. The point is to educate future parents. They need not butcher their kids, there's absolutely no reason to. 50% of the people in that poll above are not circumsized. Did their dicks fall off due to a lack of hygiene down there? No, it didn't. It's just a barbaric practice and, like religion, should be left to the kid itself to decide.
Let's just stop cutting what millions of years of evolution put there, probably for a reason. And if the reason was extra pleasure during sex... - daviddiaz, on 10/11/2007, -16/+63I just don't see why you would do that after being an adult. I don't even see why you'd do it as a baby. It just seems barbaric to me
- blorc, on 10/11/2007, -24/+71To quote Triumph the Insult Comic Dog:
"No, no... I'm sorry... the correct answer is: who gives a *****?"
Honestly, who cares? What's the difference? If you were circumcised at birth and never had the chance to feel the difference anyway, how can you be upset about circumcision? Are you suggesting that you don't enjoy sex at all because of it? Oh, so you do enjoy sex? Then what's the problem?
And if you aren't circumcised, what do you care if others are? It's not really your business unless its your own kids.
Let's face it: we can all get off anyway, so what does it matter? I'm circumcised, and sex feels just fine to me. If you honestly feel upset that you were circumcised against your will and it seriously affects your sex life/emotional state, you have more problems than just that. - Sc0rned, on 10/11/2007, -25/+71Queue the non-circumcised crowd bragging
- epimer, on 10/11/2007, -1/+40Is this supposed female dislike of foreskins an American attitude? Because, colloquially, it's not something I've ever heard of on this side of the pond.
- IamF, on 10/11/2007, -9/+47If someone as much as came close to my balls with a sharp object, I'd castrate them with a spoon.
- Frost9999, on 10/11/2007, -8/+45Because people that had their skin chopped off feel the need explain all the advantages even though they usually had no choice in the matter. If their were serious advantages there would be a queue of adult men waiting to have it done, rather than just parents having it done to babies.
- ripple123, on 10/11/2007, -6/+41I don't care what anyone says, cutting the tip of your dick off is just wrong, especially without your consent. hygiene? thats what soap is for. This is yet another reason to dislike organized religion.
- t0ny, on 10/11/2007, -1/+36How would they ask people?
"Sir, can you pull down your pants so we can poke your wiener?" - SniperXPX, on 10/11/2007, -3/+38Pull it back, fool.
- stevealford, on 10/11/2007, -16/+49The reason you have so much trouble is probably BECAUSE you don't have the most sensitive parts: the orgasm trigger nerves are in the foreskin. If you hadn't been circumsized you would last longer. The word "sensitive" doesn't mean you get off quicker, just that it has more nerve endings and therefore provides more sensation. Also, condoms are ribbed to simulate foreskin... "for her pleasure."
- shaka776, on 10/11/2007, -1/+34I kid you absolutely not:
I saw this article. I clicked on the link. While the page was briefly loading, I looked up at the TV and Giada from the Food Network was cutting up an Italian Sausage! - bladejin, on 10/11/2007, -4/+36"Now researchers prodding dozens of male penises with a fine-tipped tool..."
1. What is this "fine-tipped tool" being spoken of?
2. Which man would be stupid enough to participate in this study? - BrainInAJar, on 10/11/2007, -0/+30No, it was originally promoted to north american non-jews by Kellogg to stop boys from masturbating
The More You Know... - retral, on 10/11/2007, -5/+35If it was any more sensitive I might have a heart attack.
[/plug] - Jessejb, on 10/11/2007, -10/+40@skyshock
That's just what they tell you. - RadiantBeing, on 10/11/2007, -9/+37Or the most pessimistic, depending on how you look at it.
- Squar3d, on 10/11/2007, -1/+29@ this page - http://www.snappoll.com/view_results.php?poll_id=200540
I sense a new Digg Article coming along.
"51% of Digg users are Circumsized! (pics)" - Iolite, on 10/11/2007, -6/+32@jessejb: A lot of girls do prefer a man to be circumcised, but many will not care either way.
- wubblie, on 10/11/2007, -10/+35Yeah, but the main benefit is for the doctors themselves. Just another medical procedure that they can make money from. The sad thing is that medicaid pays for this procedure for children of low income parents in a lot of states. So our tax dollars have to go to pay for an elective medical procedure that is really being done for cosmetic or religious reasons.
BTW, the health benefits of circumcision for people in developed countries are pretty small (if any). The money would be much better spent on prenatal care, research, or practically anything else. - stevealford, on 10/11/2007, -1/+25Look it up and see who's the idiot. ;) Call Durex or Trojan if you want to feel stupid for speaking about things you don't know.
- eean, on 10/11/2007, -8/+32They did it to show their devotion to God, like a sacrifice type of thing. At some point folks got confused and decided it was a good idea.
- mozzep, on 10/11/2007, -2/+26I can see arguments both ways. One might argue that circumcision prevents the spread of HIV, and I think this has been proved (or is at least a strong myth, google it). But, one might also argue that it removes sensitive parts, it's mutilation, it's unnatural, the skin prevents chaffing.
I think the answer is to not circumcise babies. I understand that it hurts much more when one is older, but I think autonomy should always be respected. This is what it really boils down to. Parents are removing pieces of penises. If there's anything that is wrong here, it's not respecting the autonomy of the person their removing the skin from. If someone wants the benefits of lesser HIV chance, then let them get circumcised by their own will.
I imagine there are a lot of men out there who would have preferred to not be circumcised, but sorry, it wasn't your decision to remove part of your penis. - rickrwh, on 10/11/2007, -8/+32I too saved my boys.
And as far as some chick making fun of them, I'll just teach them to make fun of her *****/ass/legs/lips/feet/eyes/nose/face... - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+24i'd follow suit but my arm gets tired after an hour.
- BrainInAJar, on 10/11/2007, -4/+27why not remove the entire organ? that'll cut HIV risk down to nearly 0
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+23Good lord... you are right: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Harvey_Kellogg#Anti-sex_and_Anti-masturbation_positions
this just took an unexpected turn! - daviddiaz, on 10/11/2007, -1/+24probably men getting paid a crapload to do it. My mom got $100/hour for participating in a study about menopause, and all they did was ask her questions. I'm sure they'd pay a lot more to prod your wang and ask you how you feel.
- asskey, on 10/11/2007, -8/+30Like you care...
- GliTCH82, on 10/11/2007, -10/+32@break99: Hey *****, I'm a Muslim who cares about what women feel, so why don't you get your religious vs. cultural views straight before someone circumcises your balls
- MadNuke, on 10/11/2007, -8/+30From this point forward, masturbation will never be the same =/
And, if you're circumcised, don't tell me you didn't think the exact same thing.
This depressing, I better go knock one out. - GhostSmith, on 04/26/2009, -5/+26U know circumcision is really only popular in the US while in most other places it is quite rare for the surgery to be done.
- Mrstupid7, on 10/11/2007, -6/+26Actually the only STD that circumcision protects against is AIDS. It's beneficial at stopping all other STDs though. There are lymph nodes (At least I think that's what they are called) in the foreskin that will capture bacteria and bring them to white blood cells for them to kill and immunize yourself with. It was on some show on PBS, Nova I think but I'm not sure.
What's really funny is that everyone is so scared of AIDS, but the flu kills more people per year than AIDS does. -
