- ep53, on 06/10/2008, -1/+29In before anyone else....DailyFail is crap.
- Skafia, on 06/10/2008, -0/+23This isn't bionic. Unless her joints shoot lasers or are now at least 8x stronger/ more flexible, they're not bionic to me, nor to Steve Austin.
- IamKrAzE, on 06/10/2008, -2/+21I wonder how well she handles the metal detectors.
- verbose, on 06/10/2008, -0/+16No wonder the ratings tanked.
- Oxygen, on 06/10/2008, -1/+17Only Terrorists use Macs. Everyone knows that.
- Bluemotion, on 06/10/2008, -0/+13Bionic my ass!
i thought the title meant an advantage over normal joints, like super strength ability (actually that would be muscles, but still).
I bet she is grateful for the NHS. - stizz, on 06/10/2008, -0/+10I have a similar disease and only one titanium hip so far..the metal detectors suck donkey dick.
Particularly right after 9-11 when every time I beeped at a metal detector I was immediately given the 'you are a dangerous terrorist' treatment.
I empathize with this women. - Hangly, on 06/10/2008, -0/+10The real bionic woman has one bionic ear.
- MikeonTV, on 06/10/2008, -6/+16She got through airport security but my Macbook Air didn't :(
- dsmx, on 06/10/2008, -0/+8We have the technology, but we don't want to spend a lot of money.
- fr3ddie, on 06/10/2008, -2/+9 shes giving the camera the 'piss eye'
- ObamaWins08, on 06/10/2008, -6/+11I could really use a bionic joint right now... somebody put on some Marley...
- inactive, on 06/10/2008, -0/+5I exploded of laughter when that page loaded.
That picture is... less than bionic. - Frostek, on 06/10/2008, -0/+549-year old grandmother. Yep, that's Boldon Colliery for you...
- Skafia, on 06/10/2008, -0/+4Actually, most false joints, if not all, are made out of Titanium, which is a nonferrous metal alloy; meaning magnets have no effect on them.
- inactive, on 06/10/2008, -0/+3Having a bunch of joint replacement surgeries hardly makes one "bionic"
I'm not sure whether to bury this as inaccurate or lame... - mrgoat, on 06/10/2008, -0/+3***** me! Daily Mail spam on the front page again.
Anyone know who they use to spam digg? I would like to hire them, as there ain't NO WAY that mail readers are digg users. - orangefly, on 06/10/2008, -0/+3na na na na na na na na leader....
- PDF84, on 06/10/2008, -0/+3Go Go Gadget Hip Fracture!!!
- blackinthmiddle, on 06/10/2008, -0/+3Titanium isn't magnetic. Obviously, neither is the plastic joints they've put in her. Magneto would have to resort to picking up a car and slamming it on her. Sucks.
- s4g4n, on 06/10/2008, -0/+2Don“t piss her off, her limbs are made from plastics
- GeorgeXIV, on 06/10/2008, -0/+2I'll probably need bionic thumbs from computer, texting and gaming by the time I'm 50
- JibberGeorge, on 06/10/2008, -0/+2n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n nah
- Hanker, on 06/10/2008, -2/+4It would suck if she has to fight Magneto in an epic battle for world domination
- shieldss, on 06/10/2008, -0/+2Does she have a really bad fake American accent like the abomination of a TV show from last year?
- Peck3277, on 06/10/2008, -1/+3moo-moo-moo-moo-moo-moo-moo-moo-moo-moo
- Bluemotion, on 06/10/2008, -0/+2i thought it was more of a ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch sound.
this bionic woman... isnt. - Lavarock, on 06/10/2008, -0/+2shn-shn-shn-shn-shn-shn-shn-shn-shn-shn-shn-shn
- blackinthmiddle, on 06/10/2008, -0/+2Very true. Titanium is used because it's the one substance that the body doesn't reject right away. It rejects it, just not that quickly. Usually a good Titanium hip replacement will lat 10 years before the body rejects it.
- inactive, on 06/10/2008, -0/+2Welcome to ***** surgery central. Yay, you're dumb enough to let MD's do joint replacements like a hobby!
The only replacement surgery worth having that is rather easy to come back from is a hip replacement, but you're still pretty limited in what you can do w/the replacement other than normal everyday walking.
The shoulder surgeries suck ass, she's lucky she can move her arms after having both replaced. Knees are usuallly decent, but she got them done in the 90's, so they're probably going to need to be removed and replaced again soon.
I'm a therapist, I see this all day long.
She's not bionic, she's somebody's summer house and boat purchaser, thanks lady, you just made Dr. Smooth's family very happy! - camintmier, on 06/10/2008, -0/+2Lindsay Wagner is definitely hotter.
- JibberGeorge, on 06/10/2008, -0/+2n-n-n-n-n-n nahhh
- FLarsen, on 06/10/2008, -0/+2OM NOM NOM NOM NOM
- speedk0re, on 06/10/2008, -0/+2i like the fake hot one on TV better
- inactive, on 06/10/2008, -0/+2My grandmother had it but never had any replacements. She had tons of bone spurs and had to have her feet broken and realigned. *shudders* My mother's had both her knees replaced due to osteo-arthritis.
I have osteo-arthritis which, thank God, is not nearly as bad as rheumatoid. - s2ao, on 06/10/2008, -0/+2Daily Mail, please bury
It's the UK equivalent of fox news (although it's really hard to be as bad as Fox) - AngelaQ, on 06/10/2008, -0/+2The same way a woman in her late 20's gets diagnosed with "growing pains". Talk about a crap diagnosis, there is no such thing. It's just doctors who haven't figured out what is wrong with somebody of a certain age.
- Vesuvias, on 06/10/2008, -0/+1I was thinking the same thing! Or maybe its the 'pirate eye' yarrrrr!
- S4MF1SHER, on 06/10/2008, -0/+1Yikes
- Oea420, on 06/10/2008, -0/+1w0rd
- Kragnerac, on 06/10/2008, -1/+2Does she have the ultra awesome visual UI bionic eyes?
- Frisbinator, on 06/10/2008, -0/+1What is bionic about barely-functional joint replacements?
- blackinthmiddle, on 06/10/2008, -0/+1No, then the woman would be Lady Deathstrike!
- sanman, on 06/11/2008, -0/+1But Lindsay Wagner made being maimed and crippled look so glamorous...
- vichussmith, on 06/10/2008, -0/+1Wow, from looking at the pictures, you can see how her shoulders are so different compared to the average person. Fascinating.
- AngelaQ, on 06/10/2008, -0/+1I hope she's given up climbing ladders. Those artificial joints weren't meant to last a lifetime.
This happened in England, where people who need treatment get it. Nobody got rich over it. - mGARANDEUR1, on 06/10/2008, -3/+4Don't let that women near an NMR or MRI.
- BOFH2, on 06/10/2008, -0/+1You are right but there is still pain there. She would have been off the PKs(usually) about 4 weeks after each surgery.
