- inactive, on 01/07/2009, -0/+6I wish I could punch you in the face for registering that username just so you can say "obama approves".
- tripmaster, on 01/07/2009, -4/+8I have a feeling this won't be the last time twitter (or any other strong community) plays a huge role in something very, very positive. Kudos to all donors, diggers, and David.
This is all very inspiring. - Totz83, on 01/07/2009, -2/+5There are countless people in the same (or worse) situation as her, sure it's good to help someone out but parading them around the net like this seems both intrusive and self absorbed.
- inactive, on 01/07/2009, -0/+3Diggers don't accomplish *****, so you can stop trying to make them feel better.
- inactive, on 01/07/2009, -1/+4If I gave money to every person out there with a sad story, I wouldn't have much left for myself. And seeing how she's already collected $12,500 out of the original $5000 they were looking for, there is no reason to parade her around digg asking for more. Buried.
- MariSmith, on 01/07/2009, -3/+5There's something *massive* happening here. I concur with the gal who commented on David Armano's blog about feeling more inclined to donate to causes via Twitter... it's the know, like, trust factor. Plus, how incredible to demonstrate courage to more women to step away from domestic violence.
- xprojects, on 01/07/2009, -1/+3Couldn't agree with you more, but I'm glad I'm not the one to say it.
- antistupid, on 01/07/2009, -5/+7***** pan handlers on Digg now? I already have to deal with you guys at ever ***** high way highway entry/exit ramp, stop light, stop sign, busy intersection, and gas station that I pull up to. Buried.
Yes, I'm an *****.
P.S. I wonder how well this would work if she were fat and ugly with 3 normal kids. - GopherDog, on 01/07/2009, -4/+5This is the true potential for social media. Amazing.
- xprojects, on 01/07/2009, -2/+3I agree with you, handouts are handouts. This woman may have rent for a few months but what happens after that? Debt, because she now has a higher standard of living than she was previously able to afford.
Money-based charity is a codependency thing that seems to serve the giver more than the receiver at the end of the day, I've always believed that the only way to help other people is to be involved in their lives. If a charity doesn't have volunteers working with those in need than the charity is not a charity at all.
(Okay, digg me down, now.) - lolupissed, on 01/07/2009, -3/+4I'll pay her a couple hundred to ***** her (I have a milf fetish)
- tripmaster, on 01/07/2009, -2/+2agreed - there are multiple 1-ups in this particular cause.
- TheRealJDArtist, on 01/07/2009, -4/+4My faith in Humanity is restored. What's happening here stands as proof that when caring folks come together, nothing is impossible.
"I like to believe that people in the long run are going to do more to promote peace than our governments. Indeed, I think that people want peace so much that one of these days governments had better get out of the way and let them have it." - Dwight D. Eisenhower - obama, on 01/07/2009, -5/+5This should be the TOP story on digg. Obama approves.
- w33zy, on 01/07/2009, -4/+3double dugg for goodz.
...keep in mind the karma police. /wink - violetcakes, on 01/07/2009, -5/+4this exemplifies the power of social media and community. WOW.
- barefootsusan, on 01/07/2009, -4/+3This is PROOF that Twitter and social "stuff" does more than just waste time. Best wishes to David for organizing this amazing cause and to Daniela and her beautiful family. I actually went to Romania back in 1989 and the people there are so wonderful.
- DistantBL, on 01/07/2009, -2/+1I'd keep the Volkswagen.
- growens, on 01/07/2009, -3/+2Dugg for good.
- wss23, on 01/07/2009, -3/+2Great point Mari, the bonds of the community makes the inclination to donate or help out that much stronger.
- zerosyc, on 01/07/2009, -3/+1donated =)
- xprojects, on 01/07/2009, -3/+1One down only 1/4 of the planet left to go.
Despite my cynicism towards individual charity, I'm glad she's already raised enough to house her family, those are some cute kids with a hot mom. - venndiagram8, on 01/07/2009, -3/+0It's a wonderful example of how social apps can connect the right people at the right time
- simontsmall, on 01/07/2009, -4/+1I agree, although I really hope that people don't start trying to use things like Twitter as a one shot wonder, its all about people and building quality relationships, and as we all know, that takes time.

Kudos to all! - inactive, on 01/07/2009, -8/+5Let her sling crack rock or suck ***** like the rest of us
