- chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+34I can take a couple of guesses...and all of them end with this dude swallowing a load.
- VaporBro, on 10/26/2007, -0/+30Drinking coffee does reduce a lot of risks. mormonism is one of them.
- drewhenson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+30You know we seem to be finding that moderate consumption of anything reduces numerous risks. Maybe we should all just stop eating so damn much, and eliminate heart disease as well. It's just like the fictional Tony Sinclair says, "shrimp cocktail is like all cocktail: always in moderation."
- dmoney06, on 10/12/2007, -0/+213-5 cups is moderate? Jesus.....
- ToxicBomber, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17How the hell would you know what semen tastes like with and without caffeine? That would be the weirdest taste testing process ever.
- scotticus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13It does, however, increase the risk of pissing and ***** yourself at the office.
- Darksaber11, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11That was the BEST use of comment abuse ever. Good job. Oh, and as everyone else has said... 3-5 is moderate!? WTF? I consider myself a 'moderate' coffee drinker, and I drink like 3-5 cups a WEEK. Sorry for the use of caps, digg needs italics and bold.
- WaterDragon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8@revolver:
"Caffeine = bad. Makes your semen taste bad; and therefore, your girlfriend less prone to swallow. ;)"
Your mom doesn't seem to think so!
( I can't believe ALL you other diggers totally missed the opportunity to make a comment like that! Whatssamatta wit youse?) - BinaryFragger, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10"He just made me close my eyes and suck it out of a hose."
- TravisG5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Use... the... reply... button...
- SultanTravi, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Aristotle had it right, so many years ago.
- FishRHuman2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Or by Jesus.
Jesus loves coffee! - robfarrell, on 11/27/2008, -1/+5The BEST coffee is straight black coffee.
- MacBandit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Well chocolate and coffee are both suppose to be good for you so go have a Mocha.
- stonebear, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Just about everything but fruit adds a bitter taste, with meat being the worst offender. A gentleman only eats fruit for a day or two before the big date to make a good impression (I umm... read that somewhere).
- wushu18t, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5moderate is 3-5 cups?!?! that's about 1.2 - 2 ventis from starbucks. i want coffee now.
- tonto69, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This digg sponsored by Starbucks.
- eurocrisp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+31. diabetus
A mis-pronounced word by an old fat guy on a horse in a stupid commercial that a lot of people make fun of. - Shaman760, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If that's true then I'm immortal. Yay!
- avenged5fold, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I would not take this article too seriously. This article does not really tell where it came from or has the actual study. For all we know this "study" could have been funded by a major coffee company in order to increase their sales.
- ro0ke, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Coffee does not reduce the risk of violence. It's well documented:
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/163499/snl_chris_farley/ - WaterDragon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I thought moderate was a triple expresso in the morning, and a double one after lunch...
Oh wait...I guess that is the equivalent of five cups a day...never mind! - ToxicBomber, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Holy crap....your comment is still here, no DMCA take-down notice?
- turpialito, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@edebolt:
Care to cite your sources? - mjesales, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13 to 5 cups is based off the of the 6 oz cups - remember a 4 cup coffeee pot makes 2 mugs of coffee... so 3 to 5 is like 2 mugs of coffee or one BIG travel mugg... its a reasonable amount if you drink it over a period of time.
- logic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"I thought moderate was 10-15 cups per day!"
It's not? - WaterDragon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Did you ever notice how all the studies link illnesses to various consumer products, and ne4ver to the pollutants we are all subjected to by the major corporations that produce everything?
It's all about getting you to switch brands, habits, etc., and never about how the corporations are in fact poisoning us all! - MrTea, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Does this apply to filtered and dripped coffee or pressed and unfiltered coffee (e.g from a french press)?
- aemaeth7, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I alternate drinking tea and coffee every other day in the morning. It's quite the get-up, not having the same thing over (try new flavors, etc) really gets your day going!
- brownspank, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Apparently, Rob Van Dam is a doctor.
- ToxicBomber, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Dugg, for submitters complete lack of moderation.....W00T COFFEE!!!
- bliz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hehe...that cup of coffee's from wikipedia...=P
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:A_small_cup_of_coffee.JPG - whatevermoron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wonder how much of the benefit was due to a substitution effect - people drinking coffee are probably going to be healthier and have less diabetes than people drinking Coke.
- Bajeda, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Thats all well and good, until you develop a nasty caffeine addiction. I'd rather start smoking cigarettes again than drinking 3-5 cups of coffee a day! Next thing you know, you're up to 8-10 cups a day and can't function without caffeine.
Want to avoid diabetes? Take supplements of the stuff in coffee thats helpful. I bet the coffee industry funded studies on this. - kenvsryu, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Hi I'm kenvsryu and I'm a moderate alcoholic.
- 21chrisp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Coffee does not reduce the risk of violence. It's well documented"
I kill anything that gets in the way of my coffee... - archlich, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Wait, what? Getting a buzz from a hummer?
- edebolt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0coffee is terrible for your health long term.
dehydration ... over time this will age you much faster and allow more invasive disease and injury.
Depletion of the adrenal glands. Adrenaline is the bodies flight or fight chemical. Coffee stimulates the release of from the adrenal glands which sit on top of the kidneys. In Chinese medicine the kidneys are your source of energy. Expend your adrenaline and decrease your bodies energy reserves.
Chemical pesticide residues from non organic coffee. The coffee bean itself has oils which absorb fat soluble chemicals and heavy metals.
Roasting process creates Tars, Resins and Carmels. Charred meat has already been deemed cancer causing for these very reasons. These sticky gummy compounds similiar to effects of smoking are in this case deposited in the digestive tract which are very difficult to remove.
Do you self a favor and save the money for something that might be good for your health. - thanakar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0How is 3 to 5 cups of coffee a day moderate? To me that is lightly drinking coffee. When I drank coffee I drank 2 to 3 POTS a day. I had a 22 ounce mug with me wherever I went and it was never empty. I've long since stopped drinking coffee but now I drink 6 to 12 diet cokes a day.
- LMaxey, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2In Soviet Russia, Semen tastes Rev0lver!
- mmccanney, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3The half life of scientific knowledge is 4 years. So in another 4 years they will say its bad for you again.
Coffee its the American thing to do. I like mine straight black. Love it. - gugin, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2I secretly replaced their Folgers Crystals with... Crystal Meth. muah ha muah ha ha muah ha ha ha
- Iwantawii, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3you photoshopped that
- biosbhai, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0errr. Translation please?
- Xevallah, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1I like how they failed to mention the globs of sugar people take with their coffee. I think that negates the remote risk of parkinsons with the certainty of diabeatus.
- djbuzzkill, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1"I'm Rick James, Biyatch!"
- Phillyzero, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1@drew..exactly, nearly everything nowadays has been linked to some form of disease (more or less some form of cancer), but these studies often contradict each other by stating that most of these consumable goods should not be cut off (with the exception of trans fats) but instead a limited or moderate consumption leads to health benefits.
- hoppdawg, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3"Cocaine's a helluva drug!"
- schnikies79, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1I personally think coffee is disgusting, but this goes to prove again that most things are fine in moderation.
If you want to be truly wacky, give up caffeine. I did and couldn't feel better! -
