- LarianLeQuella, on 10/12/2007, -30/+210How is american beer like making love in a cannoe?
They are both ***** close to water.
Don't worry, I got it Schlurp. ;) - cwshea, on 10/12/2007, -4/+147WE'RE NUMBER ONE! WE'RE NU-
Oh *****. That's bad. - TheWedge, on 10/12/2007, -7/+138You're discounting the hundreds of microbrews that probably don't leave the country. Most people here realize that Bud Light, Coors, etc. is crap, but at the same time serves a good purpose: getting a lot of people wasted for cheap.
- 2keysmatt, on 10/12/2007, -3/+111Everyone knows Mike Tyson is obese. It's from eating all those ears and babies.
- Crazychipmunk, on 10/12/2007, -3/+110Theres America for ya. We have to win everything.

- VeganBob, on 10/12/2007, -5/+90I hear Canada has vegetables in restaurants. I think that helps.
- diulei, on 10/12/2007, -5/+84The trinity of crap beers you see during superbowl commercials aren't the only thing we have.
Try: Samuel Adams, Yuengling, Widmer, Pyramid, Gordon Biersch, Karl Strauss...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_breweries - deadowl, on 10/12/2007, -10/+76Did you know that most heavyweight boxers/wrestlers and many many football players would fall in that 30.6%?
Mike Tyson is in that 30.6%
BMI is based on height and weight. It doesn't take into account how much fat you have vs. how much muscle you have or how large of a frame you have. Still, it's apparently the standard for saying someone is obese or overweight, and according to BMI, Mike Tyson is obese. - TKn00b, on 10/12/2007, -1/+66I thought Hungary being kinda near the top was humorous
- Ellsass, on 11/05/2008, -1/+63Chad was Hungary so he ate some Turkey?
/don't eat the skin, it has too much Greece - thepaulm, on 10/12/2007, -3/+63Look, I get the point you are making about the BMI. It's not accurate for athletes. Okay, fine.
But have you WALKED DOWN THE STREET IN THE US? Jesus Christ man. This is an epidemic. I regularly see folks who can't get up a flight of stairs without wheezing. It makes me sad, and I don't think we should discount evidence of this overall problem because the BMI doesn't work for a small percentage of our population. For something like 80% of the population it is accurate enough to be an indicator.
I would site my source for that number, but I'm currently sitting on it. - tutivlahos, on 10/12/2007, -6/+63The USA ranks 1st in:
Crime > Rapes
Crime > Total crimes
Economy > GDP > Nominal
Economy > GDP > PPP
Education > Average years of schooling of adults
Energy > Oil consumption
Food > McDonalds restaurants
Language > English speakers
People > Divorce rate
Sports > Summer olympic medals > All time

- sundancekid503, on 10/12/2007, -7/+57@schlurp
You don't know what you're talking about, we have plenty of GREAT microbrews in the Pacific Northwest. - gardnmi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+50Every fat person in Japan is a Sumo Wrestler.
- mr1337, on 10/12/2007, -11/+57Just face it. USA pwnz all the other countries.
- rekrapt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+37I'm not fat... I'm z-axis challenged.
- ansuhre, on 10/12/2007, -6/+42that's what she said
- orlyfactor, on 10/12/2007, -2/+38If only Turkey were up there too, that would be great.
- InvisibleKid, on 10/12/2007, -2/+37get a map dude... Mexico is not in south america...
- barkingfrog, on 10/12/2007, -2/+36Those crappy beers are considered College beers; cheap, watery, and they make you piss out your arse. The micro brewery's are the opposite and most delicious.
- albi123, on 10/12/2007, -4/+37Well my country is not even on there so they must not be fat at all.
- gllopc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+31I wonder where Ethiopia falls in this list?
- gllopc, on 10/12/2007, -5/+34U.S.A.! U.S.A.! Oh.. wait...
- ShaneMcDeath, on 10/12/2007, -7/+35That's right. Youre all weightlifters.
- Liam76, on 10/12/2007, -8/+36@ tutivlahos
You are a moron.
http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/cri_rap_percap-crime-rapes-per-capita
America is beaten by, among othere, Canada and Australia in rapes when you look at PER CAPITA but I guess that would take a little too much reading for you, and we all know it is much more fun to bash the US.
In crimes we are beaten by the UK, Denmark and Finland (among others).
Per capita oil consumption we are # 17.
Divorce rates are high, but only when you look compare to population (ie divorces / 1000 people), when you compare it to number of marriages (ie divorces / 100 marriages) we aren't even in the top 20.
I wonder if these stats are too complicated for you or you just deliberately present them in a way to protray America in a bad light. Let me assure you we are bad enough, unless you are a complete ignoramous there are plenty of things to bash us for. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+28I like the people complaining that it doesn't take account for all the people packing a ton of muscle...as if 30% of the United States are athletes and body builders.
People in the U.S. eat like *****. If you know anything about nutrition, you know this.
/American - dannybull, on 10/12/2007, -4/+28my thoughts exactly, muscle men comprise most of our 30.6%! take that you fatty british!
- tutivlahos, on 10/12/2007, -5/+28I'm surprised mine is 5th, go Greece... :(
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+22Burritos dude, burritos.
- sundancekid503, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23@TheLD
You haven't been around many Canadians then - tkltangent, on 10/12/2007, -7/+28I agree completely. This graph is meaningless as far as health or "obesity" goes. BMI is nonsense.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22Canada...

A: All of them.
Q: What do Ethiopians use venetian blinds for?
A: Bunk beds.

A: The last chicken in Ethiopia.
...and those are just the ones I can remember off the top of my head.
>.> - McTendo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21Awww, look at that, trying to make us think your eleven year-old ass has a chance with a girl.
- saintdesy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21Mexico is #2?! Is the fat spilling over the border or something?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20Cartman would also fit into that 30%, and he is just BIG BONED GOD DAMMNIT
- Bega, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21I like my morbid humor
- resplence, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Ok, so where is this graphic from? I have a hard time taking something from "i-am-bored.com" as valuable source of information.
Also, the only possible explanation I can find for my country not being listed is that it wasn't surveyed in the first place. - jockser, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17why is Israel not in there ? are we not fat enough ?
well i guess Christian blood on matzo isn't fattening.. - Wonkanobi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16And you wonder why diabetes is so prevalent here...
- ShaneMcDeath, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16I don't inderstand many of the arguments here...
so what youre saying is America has more muscular people. Its not just that you eat more fast food than anywhere else in the world? - voldak, on 10/12/2007, -5/+20I'm just glad that i'm finally seeing the good ole USA number 1 at something again.
- Jo9100, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Well, I buried YOU for inaccuracy! Hah! Take that! Go take a read of other comments above instead...
- Ahnteis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Not just fast food -- our portion sizes are significantly bigger.
