You're thrashing all around
Acting like a maniac
WHIPLASH!!!! - inactive, on 01/06/2009, -14/+67***** you, two of my friends died head-banging
- mrgarci1, on 01/06/2009, -1/+45In other news, punching yourself repeatedly in the nuts may lower your sperm count.
- vincentml, on 01/07/2009, -1/+25Everyone knows that Terry Balsamo of Evanescence had a stroke because his band sucks.
- d2002, on 01/07/2009, -2/+22At least that's what The Man wants you to think.
- Madcow17, on 01/07/2009, -1/+21These articles always sound like they're written by a mother who hates when 'little *****' play their 'pac-man video games' and listen to 'the devils music." Everything hurts you. Watch 20/20. "Could swiping your debit card through the ATM be shortening your life span?" "Ortega pre-made taco shells, and how they may give you the ebola virus, tonight at 10." "Could petting your dog be hazardous?" "Air: Is it really THAT ok?" If you live your life like this, you'll end up sitting in a corner all your life doing absolutely nothing until you see one day on TV: "Corner sitting: The next deadly trend?" then your head explodes.
- jazino, on 01/07/2009, -1/+20No *****.
Of course bouncing your brain around in your skull can do long-term damage. Can someone let me know when they post the one about boxing please?
I especially like the precaustions you can take to prevent damage.
“To minimize the risk of head and neck injury, head bangers should decrease their range of head and neck motion, head bang to slower tempo songs by replacing heavy metal with adult oriented rock, only head bang to every second beat, or use personal protective equipment.” - msaleem, on 01/06/2009, -3/+20Say what? Speak a little louder!
- Greedfeed, on 01/07/2009, -0/+17If you're worried about your hearing and/or brain damage. You are not metal.
- SheilaNoya, on 01/06/2009, -1/+18Here's an artful (and very freaky) short video of what happens when you violently shake your head.

- uptwolait, on 01/07/2009, -0/+13Party on, Garth.
Party on, Wayne. - angel.wardriver, on 01/07/2009, -1/+13As a head banger....this had me cracking up at the “theoretical head-banging model”...and the advice "hope for death-metal lovers?"...I'm sure it's wise but then what kind of metal head listens to soft rock?
- iankino, on 01/07/2009, -1/+13If it's too fast, you're too old.
- FlareHeart, on 01/07/2009, -0/+10Agreed! How is it considered a solution to just stop listening to your favorite music?
So let's see...my head banging is causing my neck to hurt...I'm going to stop listening to my favorite music to stop this. Wait wait wait...wouldn't it be better for all parties involved to just not head bang as hard?
My husband is a die hard metal head and I also happen to enjoy the genre, but if he had a choice to either not head bang or not listen to the music at all, he would take the "stop head banging" any day. - Enlightenment, on 01/07/2009, -1/+11
I sure am glad that it is still ok to...
- smoke crack and listen to rap.
- take ecstasy and listen to electronica.
- drink beer and listen to country. - inactive, on 01/07/2009, -2/+11No brain, no pain.
- vandalin7, on 01/07/2009, -0/+9"“To minimize the risk of head and neck injury, head bangers should decrease their range of head and neck motion, head bang to slower tempo songs by replacing heavy metal with adult oriented rock, only head bang to every second beat, or use personal protective equipment.”"
If metal heads wanted to minimize health risks they wouldn't go to concerts. I always leave metal concerts profusely bleeding. I don't think there's a person out there who would stop listening to music they like in lieu of watered down version. - cptmichael101st, on 01/06/2009, -3/+11Wowcharacter: /dance
Wowcharacter feels a little woozy.
Wowcharacter has turned undead. - KarlH, on 01/07/2009, -2/+9They shouldn't have stood so close to each other.

/cranks Amon Amarth - Grolsch, on 01/07/2009, -2/+9I still dont get how this meme works. One day I see people getting burried and other dugg up. Hmm.
- nathanwalker, on 01/07/2009, -0/+7*prays the digg hive mind doesnt figure out who does this song and starts burying you*
- vandalin7, on 01/07/2009, -0/+7oo ok so watered down hip hop.
- cards, on 01/07/2009, -0/+7Funny, the typo "violent ant" sounds like an awesome name for a metal band!
- vincentml, on 01/07/2009, -0/+6You're kinda generalizing there. I listen only to Baroque-era classical music and I thoroughly enjoy not only abusing crack, ecstasy and beer, but combining the three to some Vivaldi or Bach.
- qwertyxuiop, on 01/07/2009, -0/+5I find it funny that the article talks about Evanescence as they one of the pussiest bands on earth...
Evanescence =/= Metal - inactive, on 01/07/2009, -2/+7Do you see that "reply" link? Yeah, it's there for a reason.
- Daemastrius, on 01/07/2009, -0/+5Feels good man
- mattyboy555, on 01/07/2009, -0/+5Metal is the only genre of music that if you don't injure yourself while listening to it, you're not enjoying it enough.
- th33n3my, on 01/07/2009, -0/+4Finally, we can all headbang with safety.
- inactive, on 01/07/2009, -0/+4You hear with your eyes?
- vilago, on 01/07/2009, -0/+4that would be a rather large condom

- Ommatidia, on 01/07/2009, -0/+3Yeah, title might as well be:
Health Hazard Alert: Flapper Dresses May Make Your Ankles Cold - drmangrum, on 01/07/2009, -0/+3Those that headbang could probably give two ***** and a rats ass about possible brain damage. They're already at a concert that will make you deaf for an hour afterwards and crowd-surfing, moshing where the chance of breaking something is very real.
With that being said, Metal Mayhem kicked ass, and the dude that landed on his head while crowd-surfing....that ***** was epic. - 1807, on 01/07/2009, -0/+3"Fat guys talkin' to me tryin' to steal my blues"- Genisis "I Can't Dance"
- hardscrabble, on 01/07/2009, -2/+5Trapped in purgatory
A lifeless object, alive
Awaiting reprisal
Death will be their acquisition
The sky is turning red
Return to power draws near
Fall into me, the sky's crimson tears
Abolish the rules made of stone
Pierced from below, souls of my treacherous past
Betrayed by many, now ornaments dripping above
Awaiting the hour of reprisal
Your time slips away
Raining blood
From a lacerated sky
Bleeding its horror
Creating my structure
Now I shall reign in blood!
SLAYER FTW - shyner, on 01/07/2009, -0/+3Oh. ok. I'm still going to do it.
\m/ - SHannonOBrien, on 01/07/2009, -0/+3I'll never stop head-banging!
- Newswiseguy, on 01/06/2009, -9/+12LOL Traductus!
but seriously, this might explain a lot. - Nouman6, on 01/07/2009, -0/+3"According to....Andrew McIntosh"
Sorry Andrew, I'm a PC. - 2uantuM, on 01/07/2009, -2/+5it's ok, it was written when <insert mystery band here> was still actually cool.
