He woke up on the morning of the 5th, and took an unexploded stub with him to a nearby parking lot along with his little brother (8yrs) and a neighbor (also 8yrs). Turns out that daddy forgot to properly dispose of this dude, and the remaining wick just wasn't long enough. BOOM! Woke me up and I live 2 blocks away.
He lost all his fingers and his hearing, and the other 2 kids went deaf temporarily and got a nice guido blow-out haircut to boot. You can't get cherry bombs or M-80's anymore, at least through normal fireworks dealers. They have things that look similar, and have similar names, but they are just bigger tubes filled with mostly sawdust, and a lady finger inside.
