- inactive, on 05/19/2009, -2/+54FTA: The first, a 21 year-old woman, was consuming up to three litres of cola a day and complained of fatigue, appetite loss and persistent vomiting. An electrocardiagram also revealed she had a heart blockage, while blood tests showed she had low potassium levels.
..........She definitely wears wolf t-shirts. - nahsrocketeer75, on 05/19/2009, -2/+49I even put down my can of soda to digg this one.
- anderzole, on 05/19/2009, -0/+449 liters of cola?!
Dr. Pepper is crack..sweet tasty crack - jpop, on 05/19/2009, -0/+40Talking about a misleading article headline. It makes you think that drinking colas are the next best thing to musclebuilding...
- diggduggDOOM, on 05/19/2009, -6/+45Fine. I'll switch to Brawndo. It's got electrolytes.

- novenator, on 05/19/2009, -2/+27My 1 gallon BIg Gulp doesn't quench my thirst anymore. Just inject it into my veins!
- neveras, on 05/19/2009, -0/+21Why the hell should it be up to the cola companies to change format sizes/promote drinking less.
If you're drinking 7 liters of the ***** a day of course it's not going to be normal.
We shouldn't have to tell people to do anything, use common sense and you'll get by alot better in life. - Narcism, on 05/19/2009, -1/+21Now enjoy your big-ass fries!
- srs2000, on 05/19/2009, -0/+18Especially when you go driving afterward.
- michaelkelly, on 05/19/2009, -2/+20Gave up cola last year and for the first time - zero cavities at my last dentist visit.
- pageld, on 05/19/2009, -0/+16Water can be bad for you. Look at the hold your wee for a wii contest that killed that lady.
- Nickolassc, on 05/19/2009, -1/+17What plants Crave!
- serif69, on 05/19/2009, -1/+15As I comment, I am drinking a Pepsi Throwback, wondering why they ever switched to normal, ass-tasting Pepsi. And struggling to type because my fingers aren't very strong.
- drunkirish, on 05/19/2009, -0/+14If you don't get the joke, assume it's because you suck and move on. Don't digg the man down.
- inactive, on 05/19/2009, -0/+14Carrots can turn you orange. Not necessarily bad for you, but still unpleasant.
- eH9116, on 05/19/2009, -0/+13Is it odd that this made me get up and get one?
- TwistyMcFister, on 05/19/2009, -1/+14Can i get a litre of cola?
- wettestwillie, on 05/19/2009, -0/+12You remember this story don't you? http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16614865/
- Vesuvias, on 05/19/2009, -0/+11I am really concerned with Digg's lack of knowledge of such a great, albeit very stupid, movie... Seems Idiocracy quotes always get dug down... I dugg you up =)
- ngmcs8203, on 05/19/2009, -0/+11I don't want a large farva. I want a goddamn litre o' cola!

- kplo, on 05/19/2009, -2/+12Yet another reason I need to lay off the Dr. Pepper.
- roxgod666, on 05/19/2009, -0/+10They never said Coca Cola. Pepsi is cola.
- roberekson, on 05/19/2009, -0/+10No, but it can kill you.
Read about water intoxication sometime. - KSUdesigner, on 05/19/2009, -1/+10"way to stay on top of things Digg! "
Digg is not, and never has been, a great place to get up-to-the-minute news. - tonytroz, on 05/19/2009, -1/+10It's the cola companies' fault. They only produce their cola in 7 liter containers that are not resealable, and they go bad if not consumed in one sitting. If only they had some kind of resealable bottle or 1 serving size can so that us sheeple can moderate ourselves...
- garryw, on 05/19/2009, -0/+8Without the water that would have to be like eating a 5 pound bag of sugar.
- Cheezian, on 05/19/2009, -2/+10No healthy person will feel sick for days after drinking a can of soda.
- westtexas357, on 05/19/2009, -2/+10Solution = Dr. Pepper made with the real cane sugar
If you are drinking the stuff with High Fructose Corn Syrup you are a lab experiment - AndrewMoyer, on 05/19/2009, -0/+6DIABEETUS!
It's the "NUCULAR" of the medical community. - murocan, on 05/19/2009, -0/+6Why does everything tasty have to kill you :( *Shakes fist at God.
- Zincyams, on 05/19/2009, -0/+6http://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/hyphen.jpg
- defendliberty, on 05/19/2009, -1/+7Plants need water? Like from the toilet?
- neveras, on 05/19/2009, -0/+6I usually have about two cans a day. I still have no cavities, and I've never had a gut.
I don't think it's just the one factor that's causing it you know. - kgerm, on 05/19/2009, -1/+7how does anyone consume nine liters of anything a day? even water?
at the most i drink two liters of fluid a day and average a little over one litter a day.
its kinda strange, i have just stopped drinking soda in the past few weeks and started drinking banana smoothies, which has potassium in it.
when our bodies are working rite, they tell us what to have cravings for when we have a deficiency in vitamins or minerals... - kgerm, on 05/19/2009, -0/+5not if your a Guido from N.J.
- drunkirish, on 05/19/2009, -0/+5Do we have "Litre Cola"?
- ctnp, on 05/19/2009, -1/+6"Liter is French for 'give me some ***** cola before I rip off your ***** lips!'"
- Nickolassc, on 05/19/2009, -1/+6Hammer time?
- roxgod666, on 05/19/2009, -1/+6I drink like 3 cans of soda a day, sometimes more. I'm scared.
- SpeedSteamBoat, on 05/19/2009, -2/+7Ironically, caffeine actually cures headaches.
- SystemicThought, on 05/19/2009, -1/+6Why does this article specifically target cola? It cites the three ingredients causing the problems as glucose, fructose, and caffeine, present in most soda, as well as some sweetened coffees and teas. Also, it would seem that diet soda would not have the same problems as regular soda, since aspartame (which may carry its own problems) replaces the fructose/glucose in the beverage.
Also, remember that moderation is important, and cola is not in itself bad. Lance Armstrong put a mix of half Coca-Cola, half water in his bottles for his races. - dirtbikedude, on 05/19/2009, -0/+5who the HELL drinks 9 liters of cola! I couldn't do that if I tried!
- ngmcs8203, on 05/19/2009, -0/+5The girl was drinking 3 litres a day. That's roughly 8.5 cans of soda. You're ok, for now!
- Dimalinch, on 05/19/2009, -1/+5Did the same thing myself, haven't drank soda since June. That and quit eating fast food. Lost 65Lbs since then, I feel healthier than I've ever been, and No cavities!
- BluesFan, on 05/19/2009, -1/+5***** I drink the ***** like it's going out of style.
- duewydo, on 05/19/2009, -0/+4"The case studies looked at patients whose consumption ranged from two to nine litres of cola a day. " *****! and I thought I was bad at 1 can a day. In college there was this guy who would always be walking around with a big old plastic 2-litre bottle of cola, we called him 2-litre... sounds like people's like him are more norm than I would have thought.
