- osarhan, on 10/10/2007, -2/+16just not as cool as smoking!!
- 1carmen, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12Will this new generation of cigarettes be accepted by the authorities and other patrons in these places? This is the point to wait and watch for.
- Swoyer, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11more importantly, is the crown7 thing legit? i don't want to invest 100 bucks on something that is just a lame gimmick
- KeepSwinging, on 10/10/2007, -3/+11is anyone else getting sick of militant's on digg treating tabacco smokers like crack dealers? i don't even smoke but seriously, it's not a big deal, just chill out....
- jjacksonRIAB, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9I work with anti-smoking *****. They tried to fire me from my job several times BECAUSE I smoke. And I smoke outside, nowhere near anyone, yet while I am allergic to cologne one of them wears it and I do not complain; while another complains that I smell bad, he regularly does not bathe and I can smell body odor seeping out of his clothes that are on the fourth rotation and the last one I swear picks his boogers and eats it, if he doesn't just have bad manners in general.
I got plenty to complain about them, but you know what? No one's perfect. Everyone has irritating habits, and it just galls me that they'd try to take action over mine just because it's now the popular thing for those ***** to do. You spew more smoke and carcinogens out your tailpipe every mile than I do from my cigarettes over years. You have no problem building a campfire, yet you think that's somehow better; you cook over a charcoal grill every weekend during the summer and again you don't give a second thought to it.
I'll bet you find it really annoying that someone is sitting there puffing away without a care in the world, not bothering anyone. I'll bet it makes you furious that someone could not be as annoyed by the world as you are. All this talk of cancer is a smokescreen (no pun intended) for what you are really concerned about - it is not the other person, but your own delicate sensibilities. You even manage to fake a cough after a smoker enters the room, though you didn't know he was a smoker until that day and you had been in the same room with him for a year and not a peep from you.
And someone looked at you in a way you didn't like today. How dare they??? They have no RIGHT to do what you think they shouldn't do, because the world is merely a collection of robots who do your bidding, and yet one defies your lordship. That's OK; we can make him disappear, because that's how people solve problems; by making a mountain out of a molehill until the problem magically disappears.
***** you, *****! - TheNik, on 10/10/2007, -3/+10Wussy! It builds character.
- fkr3, on 10/10/2007, -6/+13Yeah. I don't care what perfume or deoderant you wear, how often you shower, whether you just ran a marathon and stink like ***** or whether you have a gas problem. Because I live in a make-believe odour-neutral bubble.
Oops I meant I don't care if you smoke as long as I can't smell it, because that's the only "offensive" way a person can smell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - iheartjebus, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7why the ***** is a vaporizer on the front page? but, for what it's worth, I'll stick with my volcano. http://www.thevolcanovaporizer.com/index.php
And I'm not about to ruin it by putting ***** tobacco in there. - s0nicfreak, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Won't most people (business owners, cops, etc.) assume that this is some kind of marijuana (or other illegal substance) smoking device?
- D3koy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Chewing Tobacco is easily the most disgusting habit I can think of, including heroin...
- catalysis, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7The vapir is not a new idea and you will still inhale the volatile organic compounds which may be unsafe, however vaporizing is much better than inhaling the combustion products.
- FreakyD, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Seems cool
- fkr3, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6And car fumes cause flowers to fall from the sky?
And a fart causes me to be breathing in rainbows rather than microscopic pieces of *****?
And strong perfumes / deoderants cause little bunny wabbits to hop into my life and be my fwiend instead of being suffocating in an enclosed space like an elevator? - tnoy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6..and tobacco when smoked tastes like chocolate cake, right?
- swrostmore, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5from what I hear, vaporized tobacco tastes absolutely horrid.
- Smight, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Propylene glycol is used in NON-TOXIC antifreeze. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propylene_glycol
It's also used in moisturizers and food. The wiki says it metabolizes into lactic acid... this might be moderately healthy, or at least less toxic than my pipe. I might get one of these on payday. - Myonosken, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Apparently so have you.
- oxdeltaxo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Reminds me of vaporizers for pot. Safe, clean, and it'll get you high.
- spudnic, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4The real question is if they actually taste and feel the same, smoking isn't just about getting a nicotine hit, anyone who has tried to quit using nicotine gum will tell you that
- p0ss, on 10/10/2007, -3/+7I want to quit. But gum patchs and inhalers dont stop the addiction, they change the method. The truth is, without a cigarette i am the crankiest arsehole you have ever met. It is impossible to be around me for any length of time unless ive had a smoke, and living with me is impossible. Staying that cranky for three weeks until the cravings become less frequent is not somethign that fits into my life, i would have to take time off work and away from my partner. You may not like the smell of my cigarette, but at least i am not biting your head off.
- Alexa42, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4a lot of spammers here...
- EmperorAwesome, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4I'm not too sure I'm comfortable with a cartridge that uses antifreeze as one of it's ingredients. The nicotine and tobacco flavoring, sure, but glycol seems superfluous.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Maybe you should start smoking. I smoked all day long and I never had coughing fits when I walked by a smoker.
- Vektuz, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4A lot of people would pay a huge amount of money for "fake food" that gave "all teh same pleasure" (but none of the harmful effects such as obesity).
- Swoyer, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3anyone else who is a more know digger than the guy who has three crown7 diggs and three comments?
- hoowahman, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4You know, I know this ciggerette doesn't exist. I know that when I put it in my mouth, the nicotine is telling my brain that it is juicy and delicious. After nine years, you know what I realize? Ignorance is bliss.
- timshead, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Okay, so each cartridge has approximately the same amount of nicotine as 2 packs of cigarettes. Does anybody know if the cartridges are one-time use only, or can they be used 40 times, just like smoking 2 packs of cigarettes?
- rawM3TAL, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5Haha that's exactly what cigarette companies want you to think.
That's what my mom says, "it's not the nicotine, it's just i'm addicted to the inhaling."
Just smack yourself in the mouth every time you want that "hand to mouth" motion. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3It's in regular cigarettes too. It's a humectant (keeps it from drying out). Besides, it's also in food and hand lotion.
- mikinurbook, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4SPOILER ALERT!
And now, for the last sentence:
"If they only act as a substitute for the real thing in situations when one can’t legally partake in their poisonous past time then what is really the point?"
...I'd been thinking that the whole time, only, I didn't waste an afternoon writing about it.
Look. Some people just don't get it. If obesity were the subject matter, this would be the equivalent of selling "fake food", but "with all the same pleasures". Maybe that'll put it in better perspective for some of you.
(For the record, I live in a state in which smoking has been banned within nearly 98% of businesses. I'm not sitting in the restaurant, next booth over, blowing smoke on your plate. So if you plan on attacking me for smoking outside, you're going to need to schedule a field trip to your local refinery for me to take you seriously) - redigit, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Has anyone tried this? I'm pretty curious. The only thing I can find on the net about it are splog posts.
- hollismb, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2You wanna buy 160 dollars worth of Nicotine? I quit about three months ago, and thought I was going to use a Nicotrol Inhaler, but in the end I decided to just deal with the cravings instead of remaining hooked on Nicotine. Now I've got a three month supply of the stuff layin' around. of which I only used one cartridge.
- MWeather, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3No, it's not. This contains no vegetable matter whatsoever. It's nicotine and flavoring in a glycol base.
- watcht, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Well the sick thing between this vaporizer and the volcano is the size, This new one is much more portable than the volcano's bag system. Now actual efficiency between the two i have no idea, especially with the tiny one using specific cartridges...wonder if you can brake em open and put something else in there...if so sign me up, otherwise i'll just stick with the volcano myself
- Firehed, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Are you stoned right now? I don't think I've read a sentence that was so incoherent solely from awful punctuation.
Well done, sir. - ripstuntz, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4I know that nicotine has alot to do with addiction of cigs but for me it's more in the hand to mouth motion. Also, the fact that you breathe something in is very natural to most people, seeing we breathe every minute of our lives.. Having a bunch of people addicted to nicotine without the ciggerete would be more healthy, but what would be the purpose?
It's almost like being addicted to crack without the high... - Acolyte357, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I'm going to guess they could be used 40 times. I know 2 packs worth of nicotine at one sitting is going to make you pretty sick.
- joeisjoe, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3A better idea was already tried with the Eclipse Cigarettes. I used to smoke them ~3 years ago. Each cigarette was its own built in disposable vaporizer. You lit the tip and created an ember. The tobacco inside the tube was vaporized by the hot tip at the end. The tube would not burn down. If you are interested in trying vaporization on the cheap, see if these are still available. A pack was about the same price as a regular pack of smokes.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eclipse_(cigarette) - p0ss, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4well tobbacco doesn't taste that good, but all the honey and sugar and aircraft fuel they put in them taste pretty good.
- redigit, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Click anyones names on this post that has said something good about crown7. And you'll see why we are calling them spammers.
- Smight, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Just to simplify, you mean it would be like selling diet food and outlawing non-diet food.
- TomP, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I remember last time this was on Digg and it was called Smoking 2.0... I liked that title better
- DustyinBFE, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1here here!!
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2"A patented microchip regulates plant-specific temperatures for vaporization, also known as volitization, to avoid overheating or burning."
"Plant specific." I think this thing IS a vaporizer for pot. They're just suggesting to use it for its "intended purpose". - DustyinBFE, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Ew. Your a disgusting person.
- BossX, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Uh... Vapo?
- cavacouture, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1this is a different company the vid is really old and lame, plus there selling theres for 200 plus!
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1... you douche your ass?
- Veurruckte, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Do you drink Coffee? How often do you use your computer? The problem isn't being addicted to a harmless drug, it's the carcinogens that are included in a cigarette.
- Murdats, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1the problem is I have a lung condition, and whenever someone says that second hand smoke doesnt have any effect I always find it funny.
it seems to me that my throat closing because my lungs are too weak from all the coughing is a pretty effect to me, im not sure about you, but I like my air, and its extra nice when my air doesnt stop me breathing. -
