- wattznext, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10I saw one of those specials on TLC about morbidly obese people (like 600-700lbs) and they took all the food they ate in one day and put it out on a table. They pointed out how the diets of chips, fried food and sweets like chocolate create a palette that consists of all beige's, yellows and browns. They recommended getting more colorful things into their diet. It was a great illustration of how the "healthy" foods really throw a lot of color into your diet.
- dorshorst, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11A good steak is red. This must be right!
- kevintmckay, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Fat is not bad refined carbohydrates are the problem.
on a high volume low fat diet most people balloon up
on a low carb high fat diet most people lose fat
there is as much disinformation regarding food as there is with the current administration
if you enjoy fast food and are happy great!
if you want to drop allot of fat and get really healthy eat meat fruit vegitables nuts and seeds - gogun, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6I dugg it for the vibrant colors
- EBFoxbat, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6If they lowered the brightness and contrast setting in their camera, they may find those foods a lot less healthy.
- 4degrees, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7go ahead, cut fat _completely_ out of your diet and see how you are doing a month from now...
- kevintmckay, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4My daily calorie intake is 60% fat doing that I went from 230 to 168 and have added muscle fat is not bad. Also my hdh ldl and triglycerides have improved the big change was cutting refined carbs
- pyromouse, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4And I was just about to give up my 10-pack-a-day Skittles habit.
- blodorn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3First part of the article "According to nutritionists"
From Wikipedia "Anyone can call themselves a nutritionist and dispense nutrition information without any nutrition or educational background whatsoever due to the legal status of the term."

- wbreim, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2booooo fruit loops sucks!
- HairyFotr, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I don't know about that, I want it clinically tested.... ON YOU!
- rigg419, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2read Eat, Drink and Be Healthy. Easy to follow tasty ways of eating healthy, plus good advice on exercise, lifestyle and vitamins.
http://www.health.harvard.edu/books/Eat_Drink_and_Be_Healthy.htm - slapthemonkey, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Good article.....will keep in mind.
- The_Dude, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I saw that too and had a nightmare full of beige food. That was so disgusting, the amount of food those people were wolfing down. And one of those families was using every last dollar they had to just feed one guy! I guess gastric bypass isn't an option for those people. Too much stomach to cut away or something.
- dodus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I used to make this same observation at the dining hall in college. It was just when the colorful diet became a topic of conversation, and I remember looking around at the food choices and the tables and everyone's trays and just seeing brown, brown, brown. It was disgusting. Sometimes I think the Freshman 15 has nothing to do with beer.
- wattznext, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Because it's from a site about color palettes in graphic design. They find different themes to write an article around, and people make palettes to match the themes. It's pretty cool if you bother to see what's going on
You're buried for stupidity - tizz66, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2So you're saying we should be vegetarian, right?
Piss off. - jd72277, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Dugg w/ hopes of turning even 1 obese Digg reader into a person he/she (yeah right, he) can be proud of.
- tablatronix, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Im sure thats entirely accurate.
- Jazzillion, on 10/10/2007, -8/+9I was expecting an interactive weight-watchers type food calculator with vibrant colors. I need to lower my expectations...
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yes, don't eat food the color of minorities. Eat food the color of sick, bloody, or dead people.
- ffleming, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Now nerds are going to be giving this as an excuse to live off nothing but Cheetos.
- WaterDragon, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Hmmm.
...beiges, yellows and browns...those are the colors of death, cadavers and excrement!
Sounds appropriate, accurately describing those fat sh*ts! - tablatronix, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yeah those are all typically nothing but starch, probably why.
- TaylorFitness, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1great info! I love eating according to the rainbow!
- ScrabbyDoo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1They say that because the colors themselves are created by unique plant chemicals that are important for our body. If you eat alot of fruits and vege, but of only one color, your body would still be deprived of many crucial nutrients.
- tablatronix, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Why dont you consider why those fruits and vegetables are colorful to begin with then youll understand how its relevant.
- WaterDragon, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1OMG They entirely left out clear foods. (Glass noodles, cooked spaghetti squash..)
...And white foods. (certain kinds of gourd, breadfruit, certain white melons, and who can forget cassava, or even the root that poi is made from? (Can't recall the name, but it is mostly white, and the violet color only develops upon cooking )
And potatoes, that can be white, golden, blue, violet, or red
and don't forget purple carrots (not kidding )
...and black foods (licorice, black sesame, black pepper, black radish) - Gymbo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1just drink till you puke... then repeat
- DejectedRobot, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Umm.. couldn't they just say eat fruits and vegetables? It's goddamn common sense. But to say to eat by color is retarded. I am going to go join benbread in eating a bag of skittles.
- Gymbo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0so we get more use for our money????
- kevintmckay, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1if you are fat and happy great
if you want an honest way to get in shape here it is http://www.simplefit.org/ideal-meal.html
no bull ***** - Gramage, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Nice choice of words there. "Mutilated carcass". Typical veggie-freak. Go preach somewhere else, I'm gonna eat this steak and enjoy it. Christ you people really piss me off.
- TwiceHephaestus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0So my mom was actually on to something when she'd say "Oh! Add that to the salad! It makes it more colourful!".
Mind you, it could have just been the fact that we were eating salad instead of french fries that lead us to all be fit. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1The rainbow is thuper fabulouth, and healthy as it turns out, or rather, turnth out.
- Gymbo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0hmm i have tested the system... hurts, you swear to never do it again... but then you forget and do it again anyways... it's a system that will always repeat itself

Beauty Tips - http://www.easygrooming.com - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2So this why gay people are always so healthy!
- pitdog, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0What a moronic premise...
BTW i like Sepultura :) - TheUngod, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1As do cheetos, doritos, M&M's...
- fant0m, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2I'll read this when I'm done with my Big Mac, SuperSize Fry, and Chocolate shake.
- WaterDragon, on 10/10/2007, -4/+2The next time you're about to bite into a burger prepared from the mutilated carcass of a cow, just look at the dull, lifeless, murky color of it.
Now enjoy it -- 'cause some of it will persist inside your intestines for many years, while rotting.
I can't recall the actual number of pounds that someone calculated, that the typical meat-eating adult carries around, stuck to their intestinal walls. It is something like five or ten pounds (of rotting meat and undigested vegetables, etc.), I think. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1*****, the FDA told me that nutrients and vitamins are not good for us and chemicals are fine. I'll stick with a strict diet of pharmaceutical drugs, toothpaste and aspirin.
- allywilson, on 10/10/2007, -9/+4...wtf is this post all about? I mean, why the ***** was this posted as colours? Why not just say "Don't eat the fat. 'Tis the bad stuff. Eat the fruits and vegetables. 'Tis the good stuff." and be done with it? Buried for stupidity.
