- Dailydose4me, on 11/22/2008, -0/+16Wow I didnt even know such a support system existed.
- robdogg, on 11/22/2008, -0/+14cancer support is very important. Especially for all the questions that no one can seem to answer
- DigSomeMore, on 11/22/2008, -0/+10I just hope i never have to deal with this support...would rather get put on hold to india
- commenter01, on 11/22/2008, -0/+9Lol, more like "deadlier cancer kills more, therefore less available to give support"
- lovemorgul, on 11/22/2008, -0/+5There is little evidence to support the belief that a person's mental.
- aethelberga, on 11/22/2008, -0/+3It would make sense that there is more 'hope' and positive feedback available, and therefore more emotional support, for survivable cancers.
- oboshoe, on 11/22/2008, -0/+3Rather confusing article, but I think I finally it got it after a re-read
Basically, for survivable cancers, there is more emotional support - online anyway.
I guess that makes sense. Cancer survivors are many times good candidates to lend support down the line to folks who also fall victim.
Naturally, the nastier, less survivable cancers are going to have fewer survivor volunteers to pitch later.
Sad subject. - OfficialJoe, on 11/22/2008, -0/+3So basically people generally know which cancers one is more likely to survive and therefore find it easier to support people with said cancers. What use is emotional support if you don't believe you can beat it after all.
What would be interesting is to do a reverse study to identify whether or not good emotional support affects cancer survival rates. I kinda hope it does. Science often demoralizes me on the issue of the human capacity for healing, but then again, the survival of medical science is dependent on our belief that we won't survive without it. Ergo why I think this study needs to be done. - sheepzilla, on 11/22/2008, -0/+2In the title of the submitted description.
The key word is 'affects'. - emt1451, on 11/22/2008, -2/+4Correlation does not equal causation.
- emt1451, on 11/22/2008, -0/+1The article is okay. The submitter made a stupid title. It's pretty common on digg though. Diggers love to do this - mainly because it gets more diggs.

- lumpyup, on 11/22/2008, -0/+1This is an interesting topic, but I would have liked more information on it. The article did a pretty bad job reviewing it.
- inactive, on 11/22/2008, -0/+1Sun goddess really looks like that. I have met her.
- DarkProd, on 11/22/2008, -1/+2Did you know that there's something called a rapeseed?
Yes, this is totally random and off-topic. - pyngthyngs, on 01/25/2009, -0/+1Dido
- gumby013, on 11/22/2008, -0/+1I was hoping for a ranking of which cancers had the most and least support. And I was also wondering where my testicular cancer would fall in that ranking.
- MaxD, on 11/23/2008, -0/+1Isn't that what you make Canola oil from?
- Sovereigndk, on 11/22/2008, -0/+1Sad that Cancer is such BIG business.
What support groups and everyone ought to do is learn that we can heal Cancer without Drugs. Cancer can be fought with a proper diet of food not genetically modified. Support groups should tell companies like Monsanto to get lost! and lets not forget those major drug companies that are doing everything possible to stop the availability of products like colloidal silver and other natural products found only in health food stores.
We all need Support, to eat right, with healthy foods, instead of all those fancy processed dishes.
We need support to get the "Rife" technology back into mainstream medical care today. Rife was developed in the '30's, and it destroys Cancer and many other ailments that can cause us harm.
- slapded, on 11/22/2008, -0/+1exactly right. i had testicular cancer last year. i dont agree with any of this bs. there are TONS of TC survivors out there and reading message boards full of 'emotional support' didnt help at all. it was mainly just a big online pity party. those people need to learn that its a 99% survival rate and get on with their lives. there are more support sites for these types of cancers because everyone lives. im going to get drunk now.
- inactive, on 11/23/2008, -0/+1support it by digging.
- Metasquares, on 11/23/2008, -0/+1Given only the information in the summary, probably pretty highly, as testicular cancer has one of the highest survival rates of all.
- drghost, on 11/22/2008, -0/+0quiet, hippy.
- cognizantkid, on 11/22/2008, -0/+0Pwned.
- dar0za, on 11/22/2008, -1/+1Thanks tips. But this is one "study" that's made it on Digg that actually doesn't try to make that kind of claim.. Where exactly does it say that deadlier cancer directly causes people to support those it is affected by less?
