- craaaig, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21I notice pizza is not on that list, it is the only food that heals everything, but love sickness.
- hehe, on 10/12/2007, -5/+21It's not *****. Rather, these are effects of the vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants found within these foods. For instance, lycopene is found in tomatoes and protects your heart. Vitamin A is found in carrots, which helps your eyes, etc. This is a good list of the health benefits of eating certain foods.
- haggie, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Thanks, but I'll stick with Jack Daniels, hookers, and coke.
- rbowes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10penicillin comes from fungi
- MidnightWatcher, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Just to comment, I've studies some of these before and much of it is true though I cannot attest for everything that is on the list. One note about the apricots however to help combat cancer -- the best thing is to crack open the kernel and eat the seed inside. This contains a load of vitamin B17. Interestingly enough, the Hunza tribe of Pakistan is the only tribe in the entire world that has a 0.00% cancer rate in their population. You guessed it -- a large part of their diet is apricots and apricot seeds. They also eat a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables, not the processed garbage that we consume in the 'modern world'. They also lived much longer than we do here as well when they were discovered.
- mxfreak92, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8THIS JUST IN.....Health food IS good for you!!!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Food doesn't heal the body, the body heals the body (when it has what it needs).
- jub0r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5This list was blatantly lifted from "The Spirit Diet". Which, I'm sure, is totally scientific and effective.
http://www.godweb.org/spiritualweightlossplan.htm - csimpkins, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Yeah... foods affecting the way our body works. What a load of BS.
- hehe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Fungi can likely kill bacteria. Just like bacteriaphages (a type of virus) can also kill bacteria. Killing bacteria is not limited to human means of antibiotics.
- captinherb, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9Beer and Ramen noodles aren't on there either. Thats just crazy.
- akifbayram, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5http://www.duggmirror.com
- MidnightWatcher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Dark chocolate is excellent for you. Try to only stick with dark chocolate. I like "Aero Dark".
- devindotcom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4You're right - different forms of life have no business killing each other!
- olddirtycr, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8Right because they purposely genetically altered apples to make them not healthy.
- mxfreak92, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This just in!!!! Health food IS good for you!!!!
- SIDSI, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I don't want to know the method used to have a banana block diarrhea.
- blizzok, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7No sources. It may be true, but it's poorly written, and I wont give it credit as health advice. All the stuff is good food though, and nice common sense says eat it.
- elnerdo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Maybe they all just die before they're diagnosed with cancer?
- codyman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Well is there a cure for the common cold yet.. cause I'm fighting one right now and its a bitch
- quami16, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Can we all agree that the "What? Where is the (insert food that's clearly unhealthy)!?" is equally clever for everyone that says it and have it be done?
- asdfasdf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I recommend "Cultivating Gourmet and Medicinal Mushrooms" by Paul Stamets.
- hiPpymIck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i had heard 'dieting for jesus' was fairly effective...... (if you christian)
- iching, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3What, no dark chocolate?
- Buddhist, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3My god, that's an ugly page. Helpful, but painful on the eyes.
- gaorn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2wow who would have thought water was good for you...thanks for that
- DaFunk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Actually, all food is healthy.
Don't believe me? Don't eat any.
You'll die. - elnerdo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Obviously, you're wrong, because whatever you're eating makes you a dumbass.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3hehe: health benefit food != healing food.
admirabumblebee is right. Total *****. - devindotcom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ha, good find. Now that I know what it's from, its last tiny shreds of credibility just went out the window.
- itmoves, on 01/03/2009, -0/+1Foods that heal.
So hospitals are now treating cancer patients by having them eat apricots and blueberries?
Are people who suffer from depression treated with walnuts?
Naturally, if you have diabetes, the best you can do is just eat a lot of rice. - elnerdo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm wrong in that most of the people die early because SOME of them live a long time? That makes sense? No. No it doesn't.
I didn't make a claim. I'm not right or wrong. I'm pointing out that jumping to a conclusion like "They have a 0% cancer rate, it must be their food" is stupid. There are all sorts of possibilities as to WHY this occurs, and jumping to a conclusion only helps to convince morons. - Learn2Think, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2elnerdo: you are wrong. They dont "die before being diagnosed" with cancer although I can see how such an assumption may appear valid considering that they are a remote tribe living in high mountains..
The Hunza have amazing life span. Living over the age of 100 is common. It is normal to find Hunza working as mountain guides in the age of 90!! If you search amazon.com you will find many books that study them in detail. - LebaneseWarrior, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Amen to that !
- Oldfart2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Grapefruit is on the list.
If you are on certain drugs, like certain heart medicines, Grapefruit can kill you.
Something I just recently found out.
Grapefruit has something in it that actually enhances the drug and leaves it active in your system longer than it was designed to be.
That implies that other things on the list may be just as dangerous.
The lesson is to use your brain, become informed, about everything you eat. - PacoDG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thanks, site went down real quick.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Everyone has been trying to study the long lived peoples of the world from the okinawans to the Hunza tribe and although diet plays a role, genetics seem to have a stronger role.
- IBadassI, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Grapes CONQUER Kidney Stones!! F'kin hell! They must be the only thing left in the world that can conquer something (apart from America - actually not even them). If I'm in a war I want grapes on my side.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Please cite your references and studies before making such statements like the article.
- tommarley, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Great info, but you can narrow it down to a dozen and a half of the best foods in the world--Superfoods--which you can live off of day-to-day http://www.productdose.com/wiki/Superfoods
- iwankalot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What a load of horse sh$t. Any moron can eat healthy. Look at the stupid list for god sakes. Wow, who would of guessed fruits and veg is healthy. It really is an amazing list. This guy is da bomb.
- shawnb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1yes but some are healthier than others
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There're actually a bunch of foods that can dissociate the protein bound drugs, increase drug metabolism(or slow it down) or can increase or decrease excretion of the drugs. Beware grapefruit juice!!!
- sinurgy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1How do apples prevent constipation and also block diarrhea?!
- IBadassI, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1So your body gets what it needs from food, right?
Thanks Einstein. - Leo2002, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I am trying to drink tea daily these days to see what would change.
There are some research connecting good healthy and tea drinking. Maybe drinking tea does not make people healthy, but healthy people tend to love drink tea. - herbaltablet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The eyes speak as much as the mouth.
Actually, all food is healthy. - navinski, on 11/19/2008, -0/+0This is a awesome chart! Bravo Bravo
- WickedSpud, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I work at at nutrition store and a lot of these items on list do actually work if taken the right way. You would have to see a homeopathic practioner but it can work. Amazingly enough people come into the store saying what natural items.
- kevinwiz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0wow.. i posted this same thing a while ago and got 2 diggs
