- ridestp, on 10/21/2007, -0/+40So isn't it time that Microsoft acknowledge the product? I mean come on, it is in a customer's hands!!
- kahlessreborn, on 10/16/2007, -5/+42Why would someone want this?
- ZephyrNinety, on 10/15/2007, -1/+28"Unboxed And Turned On" sounds like a movie I saw once...
- HappyScrappy, on 10/22/2007, -6/+31Wii has WiFi
- totorototoro, on 10/15/2007, -0/+24Can Emmanuel shine a flashlight inside the vents to see if its a Falcon board?
- Burritoking924, on 10/15/2007, -1/+23No, Emmanuel did. We all love you Emmanuel.
- coldkodiak, on 10/15/2007, -2/+23Is this the Microsoft answer to Wii?
A non hardcore gamer oriented version of the console?
- piccols8, on 10/15/2007, -3/+23If they care so much, why don't they release any quality games for the PSP or PS3?
- Shootfast, on 10/15/2007, -1/+20If the PS3 were to do a 360, it would leave it in the same direction it's already in.
- oflaherty, on 10/15/2007, -2/+20yes
- Zap2, on 10/15/2007, -0/+17its a Core model, but with a few games,HDMI port and a memory card....
- Bartboy919, on 10/15/2007, -2/+17Better than the core?
- Puppetfunk, on 10/15/2007, -0/+15I play Pacman douchebag.
- Castaa, on 10/16/2007, -0/+14Can Xbox Live games, etc be saved to the memory card in the same way as the hard drive? (Obviously size and space permitting?) Thanks.
- inactive, on 10/22/2007, -14/+26Mostly because, without a hard drive, it now matches the out-of-the-box features of a Wii. Only, instead of a waggle controller, it's a true next-generation console, and the price difference is a measely $30. Dollar for dollar, and feature for feature, this deal is a steal.
- krische, on 10/15/2007, -1/+13Except you'd be an idiot to get one without a hard drive. I mean c'mon lets be honest. So then you have to pay the rediculous price of 100 bucks for a friggin 20GB hard drive.
- KungFuJesus, on 10/15/2007, -2/+13Why are there so many versions of the 360?
- Guagloves, on 10/15/2007, -2/+12the pac man chamionship demo? it lies to us in that it only comes with 4 free games, not 5.
- parkerhiggins, on 10/15/2007, -3/+13Because it's a Microsoft product, and they're required to have at least 5 or 6 versions of everything.
- Castaa, on 10/15/2007, -0/+10It's not wise to insult Pac-Man in these parts. Respect your elders.
- JoeDiggsIt, on 10/15/2007, -1/+11I had no idea this even existed. Are there any more articles on what it really does, I'm a little confused on why its called Arcade and its still that expensive.
- iofthestorm, on 10/15/2007, -3/+12And bluetooth, and more storage...
- Puppetfunk, on 10/15/2007, -2/+11RTFD (Read The ***** Description) The games are on a separate disc.
- Tenoq, on 10/22/2007, -1/+10Yeah, I suppose getting a working console out on time wasn't up to Sony. And it's not up to Sony to pay developers for exclusive titles. And it's not up to Sony to make an easy SDK for developers. And it's not up to Sony to release Sony games on their Sony console.
No, Sony has nothing to do with the games that come out on the PS3. - Tenoq, on 10/15/2007, -0/+9Even Sony fans looked at your comment and went "WTF?!"
- inactive, on 10/15/2007, -1/+9Um, the arcade feature of the xbox is one of the coolest things about it.
- P373Y, on 10/15/2007, -0/+8uno is awsome. and it will win over mothers in a gamestop, confused on which system to buy, the wii or the XBOX ARCADE. oh this one has 5 games, so its a better deal.
not that i would ever buy an xbox 360 w/o a hard drive. buying an xbox arcade would be like buying a car with 3 gallon fuel tank. your not going to get very far. - drizzlelicious, on 10/15/2007, -4/+11Holy crap.. $280? Damn..
- HappyScrappy, on 10/15/2007, -0/+7You can't even download the patches for a lot of games onto that memory card.
You're wasting your money if you buy a 360 without a hard drive. You'll just end up paying more later. - SPARTACVS, on 10/15/2007, -0/+7A very good summation of it's improvements over the Core model. Another being an included wireless controller.
- LordSkywalker, on 10/15/2007, -1/+8180, you stupid spaghetti-slurping cretin. If they did a 360, they would end up back where they started!
- Castaa, on 10/15/2007, -0/+6I believe Xbox backwards compatibility requires the hard drive unit. So no, unless you add one.
- ZephyrNinety, on 10/15/2007, -4/+10If it was $230, that might be a deal.
- P373Y, on 10/15/2007, -2/+8you couldn't fit any gow map packs on the memory card, and you couldnt save all of those arcade games or game saves. you would need a $100 hd. which is $30 more expensive than the premium
- Zero2aHero, on 10/15/2007, -0/+5More specifically....
- Core with the new HDMI ports (Does not include an HD cable though, just a composite cable)
- 256mb memory unit
- Comes with 5 arcade games (Boom Boom Rocket, Uno, Feeding Frenzy, Luxor 2, Pac-Man Championship Edition)
- The controller included is now wireless (the core used to include a USB controller)
Considering the price hasn't changed at all, I think it's ok to remove "tard pack" from this versions sub-title, it's a nice deal. - Bamborzled, on 10/15/2007, -1/+6"fewer games"
Fewer high-quality games, but that's going to change. Remember the Nintendo DS and its crappy launch titles?
"standard def"
Because I don't want to drop at least $1000 on an HDTV, and I would rather spend it on something else, like games or a graphics card for my PC, which already has a "high-def" monitor, or for my education, or health insurance, or taxes. - EXreaction, on 10/15/2007, -0/+5Ya, Microsoft doesn't care about their customers, thats why they changed the warranty to last up to 3 years instead of 30 days, including for previous sold consoles.
Oh, wait... - iofthestorm, on 10/15/2007, -0/+5How can you say it's a steal when you still have to pay $100 for a 20GB hard drive? I'm assuming that you would want to get a hard drive because one of the main draws of the 360 (for me at least, probably one of the biggest things tempting me to get one) is XBox Live, and downloading demos, trailers, content, or whatever else it is that Live gives you is going to fill up that measly 256MB card really fast. I suppose this is going after the same market that might buy a Wii, but honestly, I think that market might be better served with a Wii or a PS2 than a 360, which for the most part has attracted more of the core gamers than casual.
Also, out of curiousity's sake, how big is a typical XBLA game? I remember hearing that they had a 50MB limit on games before, but that was lifted. If these casual gamers who would get this are going to be downloading a lot of games, they will probably fill up that card in no time. - HappyScrappy, on 10/15/2007, -1/+6That's only 335 for me. I call it "Xbox 335" because that's the number of days it is in my house each year. The other month, it's sunning itself in Mc Allen, TX.
- AwesomeMonster, on 10/15/2007, -0/+5Thats illegal and not entirely true
- fallenone05, on 10/15/2007, -0/+4So MS has 4 different consoles out now? premium, elite, halo edition, and now this?
- AwesomeMonster, on 10/15/2007, -0/+4All it is is a core with 5 games for free and an hdmi port. Theres no reason why not.
- inactive, on 10/15/2007, -0/+4Yeah, you have a point... I didn't realize how much it used the hard drive. Seems like the simpler thing is for microsoft to quit gouging for the hard drives.
- Bartboy919, on 10/15/2007, -0/+4Emmanuel Goldstein will save us all!
- JoeDiggsIt, on 10/15/2007, -0/+4Oh, well thats not very special, with the exception of the HDMI port. Thanks.
- louiedog, on 10/15/2007, -0/+4This isn't aimed at people who are going to be downloading game demos and media content. I would never get the Arcade model myself, but it makes sense, unlike the Core model.
- EXreaction, on 10/15/2007, -3/+7Why do you morons continually refer to these consoles as "next generation".
Next-generation means something that is coming NEXT, as in NOT AVAILABLE NOW, or NOT SOMETHING YOU CAN BUY NOW, much less something that has been available for years.
Hope I dumbed it down to your level. - HappyScrappy, on 10/17/2007, -0/+4No, that's not true. It can be played on the original console you bought it on without logging in.
This becomes an issue when your 360 breaks (and they often do) and MS exchanges it. THEN you have to log in before playing. Kinda harsh if you have multiple account owners on the machine. - mrkuhn, on 10/15/2007, -2/+6It would even be a better deal if it had a hard drive...
- inactive, on 10/15/2007, -1/+4Actually, in all fairness, its not that they don't want to release great games, its that so far they have been unable to.
