- dharm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10asus products work great under linux... whocares if they dont officially support linux
- kamikazecow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Time to OC that northbridge
- samuraitux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I bought an asus motherboard and NEVER had a problem with it, and it run great on linux too.
- jessejoedotcom, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6People who spend over $50,000 on ASUS products...
- azygousguy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I like the absolute minimum number of pictures (1). My guess is that it is a mock up. Next feature they are adding is an LCD video screen.
- AeroSquid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5how long till it starts leaking like a G5?
- dharm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5here is another picture
http://www.motherboards.org/imageview.html?i=/images/reviews/hardware/1626_p2_57.jpg - Chort, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4yea, that happened on my A8N-SLi Deluxe, thank god they don't have chipset fans anymore, just heat pipes.
- crawf061, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7gives new meaning to "water cooler conversation"
- bbene, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I hope this isn't the same quality as their chipset fans. Both my friend and I had to have ours replaced after only 6 months of use because the bearings gave out on them. It wasn't from dust either since I dust out my computer monthly.
- jjk5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3They've been moving to heatpipes on some of their higher end boards. Those little fans are crap, they either die or start high pitch whining. Get a board that has the heatpipes instead if possible.
- Psykus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Nvidia does though, so just get an Asus motherboard, with an Nvidia chipset (nforce), and you'll be set. I really don't see what you're complaining about.
- merreborn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The fans that come with hardware always suck, from motherboards to GPUs to CPUs. This isn't a ASUS-specific issue.
- skabyss, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5I believe I speak on behalf of all computer enthusiasts when I say you are a jackass.
- tonyhartfield, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Common for asus boards, i had to replace the fan on my northbridge after a few weeks with a passive heatsink. Other than the fan problems it's an awesome motherboard though and I'm sure the problem will be sorted after the huge numbers of people who had problems.
- BlackNute, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I shall invent a replacement for ball bearings and become rich.
- brownspank, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Apparently, his brain isn't watercooled.
As for the motherboard, I'm not sure the I/O shield is the best place to put in an LCD. - thushan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1get over it:p
- EBFoxbat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've never spent $50,000 on anything, total. And thanks Asus, I'll set up my own watercooling. Just knock the mobo price way down because I have to watercool the mosfets and chipsets.
- TheCasablancan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Yes, Yes I did. But then I thought: "That's retarded."
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0You dust monthly?? Dood, install dust filters or maybe vacuum a little more often
- tylerman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Digg!
- DigeratiPrime, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1so much for sff, let me know when we get a shuttle xpc with onboard water cooling 8)
- merreborn, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2That's really more an issue of ***** technical support than anything.
You should always spend a few minutes searching the net to see how *any* piece of hardware works with *any* OS. If it doesn't work, don't buy it. - lormahoykyd2007, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I am still waiting on the AM2 Fatal1ty. Gives me something else to save for.
- tonyhartfield, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4no because that doesn't make any sense
- kidhifi, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1No digg!
- krum, on 10/12/2007, -17/+4I will not be buying it. Asus does not support nor do they have any intention of supporting open source operating systems (I've spent over $50,000 on Asus products between 2000 and 2005, and will spend with them no longer because of their arrogant stupid crap.)
http://www.mozillaquest.com/Linux04/Asus_Sucks_Story-02.html - halleyscomet, on 10/12/2007, -17/+0Did anyone else read that as: Water *colored* Motherboard from Asus?
- danielgary, on 10/12/2007, -29/+7In more way than one:
ass
anus - armbar, on 10/12/2007, -33/+9I just came to the sudden realization that "Asus" is only 1 letter off from a synonym for butthole. I was wondering what exactly this article was promoting...
What is Digg?
