Via unveils 1-Watt x86 CPU

linuxdevices.com — Chip-maker Via Technologies has just unveiled an ultra-low-voltage x86-compatible processor with claimed idle power consumption of 0.1W and maximum operating power of 1W. The "Eden ULV 500" will likely be used in handheld and other consumer devices that run embedded Windows or Linux OSes.

    Very cool. How long before a Beowulf cluster of these gets built? 100 processors @ 100 watts.
