No, Don't comment ever again. - TKn00b, on 10/12/2007, -0/+91.21 JIGGAWATTS!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7kinda useless, considering duggmirror only caches the first page (which has no benchmarks or anything of the like)
- Dayyve, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I just bought a quad-core 2x 8800 GTX and I must say, the first time I fired it up I cried. My previous computer was 6 years old and every other computer before that was a third-generation hand-me-down POS that I had to work on for days just to get to start-up correctly so I may be biased - but if you can upgrade to one ...DO IT. The Nvidia drivers suck and the interface sucks but you quickly forget about it when your gaming Oblivion with everything set to uber and you actually forget that there is a real life to get back to... (side note to Oblivion fans - download the Natural Environments mod and your eyes will literally turn to jelly and roll down your cheeks, in a good way)
- imhigh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Nvidia FTW!!!
- Dposcorp, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8I look forward to seeing 1366 x 768 and 1920x1080 tested.
It seems all the larger, well priced LCDs that I can afford, from 32" to 42" are one of those two rezs, and I am leaning towards a 37" 1920x1080 monitor. - AkatsukiNoTobi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7I want to get an 8800 GTX so badly, but I can't allow myself to get one until I at least see a few reviews for the R600. And if the R600 isn't what it's hyped up to be, then I'm going to be so angry!
- autocrawler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4It happens simply because Bethesda sucks at porting stuff.
- borninda818, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I'm waiting for 65 nm...the heat these God forsaken things generate is unbelievable. They usually run at 70 degrees + idle.
A little smaller would be nice too - cankillar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4*drools*
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I just built a coworkers computer with 2x8800 cards in it, I cranked AA up to 8x didnt even phase it, he wanted vista installed on it but vista would only load basic standard vga drivers and nvidia as of a few days ago hadnt released vista drivers yet, so I put xp on it instead. It was very nice to say the least.
- obrysii, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3After seeing Oblivion on that....I want at least one of these cards.
- foolfromhell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3But they get about 40FPS at twice my resolution! With four times the pixels!
And my proc is OCed to the level of the x6800.
Also, http://techreport.com/reviews/2007q1/geforce-8800-sli/oblivion.gif
Those frames are what Im getting at a fourth the pixels!
Same everything as the setup! - Shuk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3We need the Flux Capacitor!
- sishgupta, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4For the price your going to pay for the two cards plus a mobo and psu that can support that ***** it better ***** run everything at max...
Nice to see that it does tho. - drpcken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@Kingkilr
well then go buy you one... - drpcken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2What board are you using? I just ordered a A8N-SLI Premium, a 2 Core AMD 64 processor, but I haven't picked cards yet. I was thinking of going with the BFG GeForce 7950 GT's.
Any other suggestions? - BugMeNot2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=driver+cleaner+pro&btnG=Google+Search
- foolfromhell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://techreport.com/reviews/2007q1/geforce-8800-sli/oblivion-max.gif
How did they get "Trans AA"? and HQ AF? I cannot turn these on. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I wish my video card would output to a thirty-inch display!
Heh. - KevinAce, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Just as I bought my PC & loaded it with two 7950 GTX's in SLI mode...they pull this! Oh well it's not a big shocker...the PC hardware industry (video cards especially) move forward so fast it's tough to keep up!
- foolfromhell, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I havent looked at the site (Its down) but what does it do on Oblivion?
Im gettin ~50FPS on one GTX at only 1280x1024. Shouldnt I be getting more? - jss21382, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1buy an 8800 instead..you don't get the sli issues with roughly the same performance as 2 7900 class cards
- fuzzynyanko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Agreed. That Oblivion screencap looks amazing.
- Harbinger67, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I know it's probably a long long ways off, but I'm looking forward to the day that these dx10 cards are released for notebooks. I so badly want to get a desktop replacement notebook for school, but buying one of the high-end SLI notebooks right now seems so very wasteful with dx10 on the horizon :
- KevinAce, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@drpcken
I got the ASUS P5N32-SLI board which has the nForce 590 chipset (very new, works great with SLI'd Nvidia cards) and an Intel Conroe E6600 processor (dual core). I couldn't be happier with the setup - it's a beast. I have them running a 30" Apple and two 21" Dells (vertically) and it all works great.
The only drawback is that I have to restart my PC to go into SLI mode for games because with SLI mode enabled, I cannot use my 3 monitors at once. Oh well, not a big deal. It's nice to restart to clear up some fresh resources for gaming anyways! - pastasauce, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It won't run XCOM: UFO Defence. But thats more of Direct X's fault. That game stopped working when DX9 came out. Oh how I miss it.... LOOK OUT! FLOATER!!!!
- frgmstr, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5More than a few real game experiences outlined yesterday in our CPU comparison with 8800 GTX SLI.

These offer flawless play at 2560x1600 in many games. Enjoy. - jss21382, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1staying with the same games for testing allows comparison with older reviews
- BugMeNot2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Update your drivers.
Latest:

Unistall the NVIDIA Drivers in Add/Remove Programs, then use Driver Cleaner Pro in safe mode. After that, boot up to Windows and install the latest drivers. - Civil44, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Man that is so sexy
- foolfromhell, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Where do I get Driver cleaner pro?
- pastasauce, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1My friend recently purchased one of these along with other parts for his first self-built computer. His mobo came pre-fried. Serves him right for not buying enough for the rest of us.
- Buffalo2007, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0So If someone buys two 30 inch monitors, are you saying they won't be able to use it with the latest and great of the cards, 8800GTX ?
One card does have two DVI output, two monitors should be okay.
Does he mean two cards cannot drive two monitors? I am a little confused, can someone clear the sentence below...
>>It's still not possible to drive multiple monitors with SLI or CrossFire enabled. As I understand it, this is a software limitation. - Trevor2, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Will it run The Oregon Trail?
- sirmasterboy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1These benchmarks are completely off. I ran their HL2:EP1 benchmark demo and used fraps to log the FPS. On my FX-60, DDR1 memory and dual 7900GTX, i got 108fps average @ 1600x1200 4xAA 16xAF Max settings. Their website says that on a core 2 Extreme, DDR2 memory, with the dual 7900GTX they only got 62fps...
- Metatron197, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I wish i had that....
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Why did they run older games like FEAR? Should have tried Gothic 3. Entering the rebel hideout just blew Oblivion away.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4http://duggmirror.com/hardware/Two_GeForce_8800_GTX_cards_tested_in_SLI_mode/#c4883996
also: That's not the real cliFF it's probably that diggmirrors 9/11 blogspot spammer or someone trying to give cliff a bad rep. - kingkilr, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4WTF AMD, C2D whips it
- Slagar, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2I as a matter of fact have a 37" 1920x1080 monitor running on my 8800 GTX. I managed to pick it up for $680 bucks from office max, and its very nice :) If you have the extra cash go for it.
- arunforce, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Does anyone besides me think that power supply looks sticky as tar?
- idiotwithastick, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Wow.. these cards came out what, 2 months ago? This review must be amazing as it is _obviously_ the first one to have tested _two_ 8800GTX's in SLI. Go Tech Report!
- Sagarian, on 10/12/2007, -9/+6I have 2x 8800gtx's running with a quad core intel processor and dell's 1920x1200 display. for now that config is total overkill for any piece of software I've yet tried (though I haven't tried Flight Sim. X on it yet). I am looking forward to Vista, DX10, Crysis, etc... though.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Its what I use at home, sweet sweet 30" with SLI.
- AndrewDB, on 01/10/2008, -6/+0http://duggmirror.com
- jman8888, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3@Sag Your machine will never run crysis..
- xaxxon, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1http://www.duggmirror.com
- darkyoshi, on 10/12/2007, -14/+2But... will they blend?
You know, in Blender, to render stuff!
