- ArtGuy2k6, on 06/28/2008, -0/+41Where the hell is Bender? This list can kiss my shiny metal ass...
P.S. Yes, he was in a movie, it was named after him - doctechnical, on 06/28/2008, -0/+33Wait a minute - Some ***** robot from a Rocky movie makes the list but Robby from "Forbidden Planet" doesn't? Discarded as retarded.
- frakkingtoaster, on 06/28/2008, -2/+15Wall-E was spectacular. The short cartoon before it was great too.
- BlackStrain, on 06/28/2008, -0/+11The Blade Runner Replicants weren't robots. They were genetically engineered.
- Pixelante, on 06/28/2008, -1/+11What? No Robby the Robot from "Forbidden Planet"? No Gort from "The Day the Earth stood still"? No ED-209 from "Robocop"? No Hector from Saturn III?
- technograff, on 06/28/2008, -0/+10Wait a minute .. who said Roy Batty is a robot? What kind of robot bleeds, exactly? He was bio engineered, he's a human with alterations. He's not a robot, and don't even get me started with Deckard. Barry was certainly a human, because no robot can feel the same crippling fear of mortality as he did.
- fetusburgers, on 06/28/2008, -0/+10Where's Bender from the Futurama movies?
- KnytFyre, on 06/28/2008, -0/+9Deckard was only eluded to being a replicant, and yeah, Robbie the Robot should definately be on this list. Not only was he on Lost in Space TV show and was relitively unchanged for his movie roll, he also was the go to robot for most 60s tv series.
Another thing though, Replicants shouldn't be included on the list. They are bio-chemical in nature, like humans and animals, not mechanical. Replicants are not robots, they are a genetically engineered species of human. If they were simply robots, they wouldn't need a Voit-Comp test to determain if the were human or replicant, a simple xray would do. - vinceislegend, on 06/28/2008, -1/+10Dugg for MST3k.
- bradleyland, on 06/28/2008, -0/+9You mean Starscream?
- Rambus89, on 06/28/2008, -3/+10Where is Rick Deckard and the robot from Lost in Space Movie. That thing was bad ass!
- Valisk61, on 06/28/2008, -0/+7HAL was a computer.
- inactive, on 06/28/2008, -4/+11Johnny 5 owns all
- SilentRamble42, on 06/28/2008, -0/+7Oh wait, does Robocop count?
- MadOgre, on 06/28/2008, -1/+7No Cherry 2000? No Priss? List sucks.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HQJpza5lLA - scotishstriker, on 06/28/2008, -1/+7no bender from futurama!?
- inactive, on 06/28/2008, -0/+5I agree, I was a little disappointed to see human looking androids on the list. Don't get me wrong, I love Data and th enew humanoid Cylons, but for a list of great robots, they sure left out a lot of...great robots.
Just to name a few:
1-the robots from "Batteries Not Included"
2-ED 209 from "Robocop"
3-the original Cylons
4-Mechagodzilla
5-Fake Maria from "Metropolis"
5-Robocop
6-C3-PO
7-Gort from "The Day the Earth Stood Still" - MacSuxWindozSux, on 06/29/2008, -0/+5Hahah he got the name wrong.
- JrGhoull, on 06/28/2008, -0/+5what the heck are you talking about? neither of the two "wives" were robots.
- peterredding, on 06/28/2008, -0/+5A toy robot from Rocky IV but no HAL? Pffft.
- HumanRecalled, on 06/28/2008, -1/+6man!!!.........half of these selections aren't even Robots ! Androids aren't robots ! Cyborgs aren't ROBOTS !
Android
An android is a machine designed to resemble a human, usually both in appearance and behavior
Robots
A robot is a mechanical or virtual, artificial agent. It is usually a system, which, by its appearance or movements, conveys a sense that it has intent or agency of its own
Cyborg
A cyborg is a cybernetic organism (i.e., an organism that has both artificial and natural systems).
Also where is the cool robots from I-Robot ? OF From Lost in Space ? Deadly Friend -Bebe the Robot !
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSW2pPlZF-M - countmandible, on 06/28/2008, -1/+6What?!? No Sunny?
- ThatEvilGuy, on 06/28/2008, -1/+6No Cain from Robocop 2? That robot was a badass.
http://www.petaimg.com/uploads/1214728110.jpg - Datasta, on 06/28/2008, -1/+5I can't believe you put evil bill on here.
- StuartGibson, on 06/14/2009, -0/+4Agree with everything you said, but you might want to start calling it Voight Kampf to imbue your reply with extra credibility. Not meant in a nasty way, I'd want corrected on things like this.
- dragon76, on 06/28/2008, -0/+4The first two great robots that came to my mind were Andrew from /Bicentennial Man/ and Rodney Copperbottom from /Robots/. The list gets a huge "FAIL" for not including the greatest robot of all time, ever, into perpetuity: Bender Bending RodrÃguez.
- santaliqueur, on 06/28/2008, -0/+4You mean both? Shut the ***** up please.
- dasamps, on 06/28/2008, -2/+6Dugg for number 5 from short circuit
- Thrilltone, on 06/28/2008, -0/+4What about AMEE, from Red Planet?
She was a badass.
Data is my favorite synthetic life form but I consider him more of a TV creation.
Ahhnold is my favorite on their list. - mistergoomba, on 06/28/2008, -0/+4no, otherwise darth vader would have made it
- JrGhoull, on 06/28/2008, -0/+4you know the robot in the movie iron giant goes completely ape crackers at the end and pulls out a whole array of death machines that any of the other robots mentioned in the list would envy...just saying...
- jezsik, on 06/28/2008, -0/+3Gort
Robbie
Bender
That scary-ass barking dog robotic thing from Robocop
That scary bad-ass mechanical soldier from Judge Dredd - StuartGibson, on 06/14/2009, -0/+3Saturn 3

THE BLADE RUNNER REPLICANTS WEREN'T ROBOTS!
There, that's better. - davin510, on 06/28/2008, -2/+5while most lists that wind up on digg suck miserably **coughcracked.comcouch**, this was actually a fun read. dugg
- iamronburgundy, on 06/28/2008, -1/+4They were hot, but lame.
- GJBlizzard, on 06/28/2008, -3/+6STATION!
- Duilen, on 06/28/2008, -2/+5I was going to be a disgruntled reader if Marvin from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy didn't make the list...so I'm happy now...
- BuhSnarf, on 06/28/2008, -1/+4No Dot Matrix from Spaceballs? :p
- ModernChem, on 06/28/2008, -2/+5what about HAL?
- verbose, on 06/28/2008, -1/+4I was fully expecting to see HAL and Maria on this list. How old are these writers, 12?
- santaliqueur, on 06/28/2008, -0/+3HAL is not a robot.
- Kajico, on 06/28/2008, -2/+5No mention of the robots from batteries not included, they should be in place of that robot from Rocky IV.
- Rudegar, on 06/28/2008, -1/+4no westworld?
- inactive, on 06/28/2008, -0/+3He is if you consider the Discovery to be his body.
- inactive, on 06/28/2008, -0/+3please digg this man up! That was the coolest robot ever!
- StuartGibson, on 06/14/2009, -0/+2Someone hasn't been keeping up with their release schedules.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1054485/releaseinfo
Please hand in your geek card on the way out. - santaliqueur, on 06/28/2008, -0/+2Yeah, fembots are so awesome!
I can't wait for 1998, by the way. - doctechnical, on 06/28/2008, -0/+2Almost forgot: Huey, Dewey and Louie from "Silent Running".
And Rommie from Andromeda (ok, not a movie, but hell if Data qualifies). If you're going to build a robot, you might as well build a smoking-hot one. "Rommie, meet Pris. Pris, Rommie. You'll be working closely togther. Very closely."
Mmmmmmmm. -
