- shawnanigans, on 10/12/2007, -2/+62Duggmirror actually catching a site makes me feel nostalgic.
- Akaji, on 10/12/2007, -3/+40You can't have real virgins, so you want their hair?
You may want to contact a psychiatrist... - dilbertmouse, on 10/12/2007, -1/+37Apologies in advance for the abuse:
http://www.duggmirror.com/hardware/The_10_Most_Expensive_Computer_Keyboards/ - dunezone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+24Another top ten that starts with one, just great.
- stotch, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20for 1k a day you can hire me as your personal keyboard, ill draw a keyboard on my gut , then u type on it
ill take what you type and super quickly type it into a computer, my fat has the same density as space age memory foam, buy me orrrr i guess u jus aint balla - jihadjohnson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20"This made to order keyboard is coated many times using a special brush made from the hairs of virgins" - THAT is so WHAT I WANT!!!
- Akaji, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18Uhh... nice keyboards? I don't think any of those are at all "nice" by any means. Split keyboards (read: "ergonomic") are utterly horrible. Keyboards coated with a brush made from virgin hair and sprayed with gold dust... need I say more about that?
Also, you may want to read the title of the next article you comment on before you state the obvious ("but EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!!!"). This is, after all, claiming to be a list of the 10 most expensive computer keyboards. - Polymira, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13I'm happy with my g15...
- Ystig, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12If anything's worth spending a pile of money on, it seems like it would be the keyboard. Nothing's more crucial, in the aesthetics of computing (save a satisfactory screen). And when they come out with a luxury keyboard with buckling spring mechanisms, I might well buy it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckling_spring
But until they do, it's my 1988 IBM Model M. Or the Unicomp boards, if for some reason I can't come by any IBM Model Ms at some point in the future (which seems improbable, given their abundance):
http://www.pckeyboard.com/index.html - Rochmndx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13I'll bet you dollars to dough nuts that NONE of those ten even compare with the 23 year old classic springy IBM keyboard which I type upon now. (... and I picked this one up at Goodwill for $1.99!!) Seriously... I can type like 10WPM faster on these things than any other type of keyboard I've ever used!
LONG LIVE OLD-SCHOOL IBM KEYBOARDS!
- mikev, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12The brush consists of the pubies of the virgins, wa wa wee wa
- Spikito, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11dugg for the wtf factor, painted with hairs of a virgin?
- ShrimpCrackers, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11WTH, it says nothing like that on the Japanese website. The guy was using Google Translate or something and it went horribly wrong.
It simply says classically Japanese Lacquered keys done by professionals. - mc7winkie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10From what hairs of the virgin??? The article doesn't specify. Quick somebody learn Japanese and tell us what the site says.
- Agret, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11wads da saw daw dasds?
- heffae, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8The optimus would be very cool. Unfortunately at the rate they are going it'll be released bundled with Duke Nukem Forever. I think it was first promised in 2002
- catylist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8was at the bottom
- stisaac, on 10/12/2007, -9/+16Hell, I can beat those. If you send me a couple million to my paypal account, I'll drop ship you an authentic well used microsoft natural keyboard. Seriously folks, its not hard to come up with an expensive product: you just increase how much your charging for it.
- 47f0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Amen. For comfort, speed, and accuracy, it's very hard to beat the Model M keyboards.
I'll grab one anytime I'm in a thrift store and see a stack of keyboards on the shelf. I think my average cost so far is about $4.00. Why do I have more than one? I have no idea. The first one I bought will undoubtably survive to be handed down to my grandkids. Call it a security blanket.
Think it's BS? Try one for a week. It will click. It will clatter. It will keep your neighbors up at night. It's not cool. It doesn't have fifteen media buttons. But at the end of the week, you'll make hissing noises when someone tries to take it away. - jonellison13, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I hate to point this out, but it didn't say FEMALE virgins.
It could be the hairs of digg users for all we know. - Satanael, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Yeah, I've gotten pretty skilled at typing out comments like this using just the ASDW keys..
- inst, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6http://asia.cnet.com/reviews/blog/mobileojisan/0,39050793,61960899,00.htm
- graemee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4macro keys aside, best keyboard I've had in a while.
- nav2k4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3 Dual Handed Ergonomic 3D, Maltron looks very hard to use even though it says its ergonomic
- Nihilanth41, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3somehow i knew those datahands would be on there
- axan2003, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Whats wrong with a square with keys for $5, the ASDW keys are still the same shape and in the same spot and u KNOW thats all u use
- kineticabstract, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4@akaji -
That's a matter of opinion. I really, really, really, really love my split keyboard, and I wish that there were more of them. Using a "normal" keyboard makes me feel as though I'm trying to bend my wrists into unnatural positions.
Each to their own, of course. And even as much as I prefer them, I'm not spending $1500 on one... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Most expensive keyboard list, on a site that seems to be ran on the least expensive server.
- mitrovarr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3They're good keyboards, but I still haven't found a really worthwhile use for the macro keys, and I mostly use the little screen as a performance monitor. I think they're mostly useful for MMORPG players.
- vagarach, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3They were joking about the virgins, you know? Stuff like that is often employed in making some light humour all while poking fun at the absurdity of a $4400 keyboard that doesn't even have a numpad.
- jonellison13, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"Clicky" keyboards are the best.
- heffae, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The model M's are nice but I'll take a Focus 2001 with alps mechanical key switches over anything else. The other nice think is the 2001's were made up until 1999 I think so it's possible to find a few with the extra windows keys. This is not to demean the M it is a very close second and if you can find one of the originals it can double as a barbell for bench presses. Even though both the 2001 and the M are getting old they were made to last. I can see it now M's and 2001's are going too become multi-generational heirlooms.
- noahhoward, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3They look so ***** cool...
- RpgActioN, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4My IBM Model M kicks the ass of all of those.
- sheppoor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2One of my favorite parts about the M is you move the keycaps and set up a DVORAK layout. If you use one machine most of the time its great. If (like me) you use lots of machines it is difficult to go back-and-forth, not because of the two layouts but due to muscle memory issues for key combinations (e.g., Ctrl-C)
- mitrovarr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2How could you ever make such a list? You can't benchmark a keyboard. Once you get up to decent quality, it's all subjective from there.
- wompninja, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That $4400 one looks like a commodore 64 painted with red spray paint
- STKD, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Why not spend some money on the computer part you interact with the most, your keyboard? Keyboards ranging from $250-$4400 USD."
Well, because the Saitek Gamers Keyboard I got for much less works just wonderfully. Thanks for asking. :) - noahhoward, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm 23, I am on the computer 65% of my day, every day for work and communication, I'm already having trouble with my wrists and unless I strike oil in my back yard I will be typing every day for the rest of my life. Suddenly $500 to $675 bucks for the Datahand setup doesn't seem like such a bad investment...
- brybard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+27. Keyless Ergonomic Keyboard, orbiTouch $399.00
The orbiTouch Keyless ergonomic Keyboard creates a keystroke when you slide the two domes into one of their eight respective positions. You type the different characters by sliding the domes to create letters and numbers. The orbiTouch Keyless ergonomic Keyboard also has an integrated mouse, so moving the domes gives you full mouse and keyboard capability. - ellolazo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2god i love this one
http://www.artlebedev.com/everything/optimus/
can't be so good.
with this i dont have to learn quick access keys :P - gameforge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Cool! I have a stack of keyboards in my basement. I just went and looked through them - turns out I have one of these clicking IBM keyboards with the detachable keys - says "Plt No F2 Model M (C) IBM Corp. 1984" on the bottom. Unplugged old KB and plugged it in - I'm using it to type this comment.
The computer this keyboard was designed to work with is only a few thousandths the speed of the one it still works with... and any 23 year old computer part that still works is obviously an awesome device. I'll bet this thing will still work 25 years from now.
Now back to my wireless Logitech with multimedia and program menu buttons. :) - Chris1280, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2yeah my g15 does rock, the macros i've found little use for outside of WoW but oh well the back light and lcd makes up for that
- noahhoward, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2So that's how digg makes its money!
- bonexaw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Better question. Why is the $199 diNovo Edge not on the list?
IMO looks to be a much better keyboard than the $250 MS one. - NetiNeti, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why no keyboards with built in touchpads like the Logitech diNovo Edge?
- misxn, on 10/12/2007, -6/+7http://duggmirror.com
- mpphan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Agreed. Most sexiest keyboard EVER! Color LED lights on the keyboard = kickass.
- mortigon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Most of those keyboards would piss me off... I hate when i jump on a slightly different keyboard at work... it feels like I'm just learning to type again

What is Digg?
