- isemism, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18I think I stand a rather large chance of ending up with this device either:
a) getting eaten by a pet
b) being smashed under foot by accident
- or -
c) losing it like all my left socks. But really, awesome trinket. Digg. - ModernDayDarwin, on 10/12/2007, -5/+17I can see it now, "I lost my webserver. It responds to pings, it's up and running, I just can't physically find it in my apartment"

- TrnsltLife, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9They should have set the price at $1337
- EBFoxbat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Could make a Rubric's Cube Cluster
- Thurloat, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6this would be perfect for a discreet webserver in my appartment :D what's the price tag?

- pjh3000, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Typical Apple fanboi response. It's smaller than the smallest Mac computer, therefor it must be too small! Help me Lord Steves.
- dnaspydir, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4there was an episode of "attack of the show" or "the screensavers" (or whatever the last name of it was) where someone volunteered to have a "gumstix" running apache inserted into their ass. viewers were then given a url to load. it was quite funny...
- bennomatic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Forget about XP, I want to run a virtualizer on it and have 40 Commodore 64s running on it! Imagine a beowolf cluster of them puppies!
- PlaidPhantom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I am SO getting one of these. DSL installed on a 2gig USB stick and it'd work wonders. Now about a decent portable screen. Is it battery powered, or what?
I can see this really coming in use in school/college settings. Take notes, do essay work, browse the internet, and fit it in a backpack along with books without breaking the @#$%ing strap. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Someone commented on another blog that is $1330.
- Sippi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Would make a kick-ass paper wieght!
- XxtraLarGe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I did a Google search for this, and one of the links I saw was for another mini-computer called the Waysmall computer. Here's the link: http://www.gumstix.com/
- Odweaver, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Everyone is looking at the small computer, i'm looking at the Naruto Cosplayers in the top right.

Check almost 2 year old info: http://www.mini-itx.com/2004/03/08/a-selection-of-weeny-pcs - tsupersonic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Very nice concept, I would like one. I might put Win 98 SE, or better yet, Linux, DSL would be perfect for this computer. It would be good for word processing, web surfing,
Here are the list of ports from their website: IEEE1355 (SpaceWire), RTC, CF (True IDE), XGA (1024×768), USB1.1, LAN (100BASE), Audio (Stereo). - 12340987, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6how come my laptop is 5 times faster yet 50 times bigger? and also broken.
- KCorax, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I have a windows 2003 web server edition running on 250mhz so i think this should be fine for xp.
The forementioned machine is very responsive too... - kobejonez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2very old news

http://www.boingboing.net/2005/03/24/hellraiser_casemod_w.html - pjh3000, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I am so sick and tired of whiners whining all the time about their particular post not getting more mouse clicks than that post. Shut up. Shut up! SHUT THE FECK UP!
- Steerpike, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Smallest? That thing is gigantic compared to this PC: http://www.linuxdevices.com/news/NS8386088053.html
- BassJunkie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's so teeny that i'd love to have one to tinker with! I'd be curious to see what OS's you could get loaded, it runs Linux already but I reckong you could shoehorn XP onto it! Would be funny, and slow as hell but the fact that you can hide it in ur pocket! With the audio out you could stream music to it, plug in a USB WLAN adapter and you have a very small music player!
Did see a more reasonable price on another site of around $320, a few comments down from the $1300 quote - CJHtxGeek, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I noticed those before I closed the tab,,, "wtf" would be good here.... Although sadly I know someone with those weird headbands...
- t1da1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2countdown to somebody putting a window and water cooling inside it in 3..2...
- charlesny, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1does anyone knows where to buy one???
- Barlo_Mung, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1True. The OQO also has a display, keyboard, battery, mouse, wacom digitizer all built in. And isn't all that much more $$$ considering what you get.
- pjh3000, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Same as above. SHUT THE FECK UP!
- nofxjunkee, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Sure XP will work! Just throw the install CD into the, uhh... oh.... nevermind.
- SelfAppointedMe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow, same specs. as most PDAs.............lame
- djdole, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not much power consumption, so not much to generate heat.
Specs page lists a running temp of 0 - 35C (32 - 95F)
But yeah, if it were put into a car (like so many above have mentioned), a fan or heatpipe/sink for cooling may be needed. - algorythm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Great article. So much information!

http://www.mobilemag.com/content/100/313/C7669/ - stinkipete, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah that's a point, the thing looks pretty sturdy - Do you think it could take the rigours of a school day in a back pack? That would be awsome.
- rimco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That has to be the ugliest little bastard of a computer I've ever seen, but it's a cool idea.
- ZekeSulastin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Bigdoug, I think that was the point ...
