- cr125er, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Is there a "block all 12 year olds using mic chat" button pre-programmed?
I have my Visa out and I'm waiting for an answer. - gib0r, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10blasphemy
- chris9902, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8yeah it looks cool. Not quite a slick as the Saitek stuff.
on a side note: did anyone else notice the Zune port?
http://cache.gizmodo.com/assets/resources/2006/08/keyboard_zune.jpg - musntSurfatWork, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I don't think I'll ever need to replace my logitech G15, unless it breaks, only to get another G15. The programmable Macros , CPU activity on the LCD are a Godsend. What more does one need?
- Xanium4332, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4personally I think the Logitech G15 offers better functionality and value for money. The LCD is ACTUALLY useful, and the build quality is amazing (trust me, I had to dismantle mine to the bones to clean out some coffee I spilt in it :P). The only gripe would be the USB 1.1 hub, instead of 2, but never mind...
I've had no problem with my keys rubbing off,a nd I use my keyboard for at least 3-4 hours a day, every day...
All my G15 related processes don't even add up to using 10mb of my RAM.
Just my £0.02 - mtownand1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4it doesnt say what is so great about it, other than it is the "first definitive keyboard created by gamers for gamers".
- samuelcotterall, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Why do gamers insist on putting neon on everything?
I know a few pro gamers and they all use cheap £5 PS/2 keyboards with low profile keys. - shlemielo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3No rawmetal, not plain and simple. Saying Logitech > Razer is like saying GM is better than Lotus. Don't get me wrong, I like Logitech and own four mice and two keyboards from them. Logitech is huge compared to Razer -- Razer makes specialized products that fit a small market. This is only Razer's second entry into the keyboard market. You would HOPE that Logitech would have a more refined product after all these years. It's pretty impressive that Razer has produced such a nice line of products already. If you don't remember, they went under for awhile after they first came out with the Boomslangs (sweet mouse).
Besides, most pro gamers don't use all these gizmogadgets that companies are trying to push. All the ones I know still use MS Natural or Internet Pro with an Intellimouse 1.0 - PClock, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3super nice keyboard.
- Nerfdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2wired=quicker response. it's a gaming keyboard.
- accesory, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2there is a huge load from the digg,,, looks like its back now though
- crthomas42, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The battledock is interesting. I will be curious to see if they can come up with addons that are worth purchasing.
- franksmith, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I like my Cyber Snipa better... this keyboard looks to have some sweet features but I like something that makes hitting the right key in the heat of the battle easier.
- spudnic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3And miss out on having all the keys right by wasd? No thanks
- vagarach, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's for gamers who want to show they're pros. Of course, a real pro doesn't need the finest equipment in the world to beat 99% of potential opponents.
I suppose those who insist on having a fancy keyboard would also buy one ;). - kelbear, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I don't like the key layout. I prefer the rectangular insert, delete, home, end, pgup, pgdown cluster. I don't like where those extra function keys ended up, kinda out of the way for quick-use in games.I like the opportunity for macros but I don't see many places I'd need to input a long sequence of pre-programmed buttons since I'd usually have to stay flexible. I don't like glowing keyboards, I can touchtype as it is, I don't need to be looking down at my keyboard, much less being distracted by an incessant glow.
I do like the embedded microphone, headphone, and usb jacks. Those will make my setup much more convenient. That keypopper thing will be a joy for quick cleaning. I like that alot. If those programmable keys can be program shortcuts as well, this keyboard would win more points with me. I like the slim profile, but do not like the giant floorprint it took up to add that battledock thing. I'm willing to change my opinion of that only if I see an accessory I'd actually want, and I'm fairly dubious. Not much I'd want sitting directly in front of me like that. Time will tell! - inmatarian, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Wouldn't a gaming keyboard have the Directional arrows on the left side of the keyboard, to eliminate the need for using the WASD keys?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Super nice keyboard...looks like all the rest.
- orielbean, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5He looks like a guy angry that he just spent 100 bucks on a wired keyboard.
- meatshoes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I clicked the link expecting it to be as ugly as sin (like the G15) but I was pleasantly surprised. Don't like that it doesn't include anything in it's "battle slot" by default though.
- Xanium4332, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3or to detect when you start bashing it in frustration, in which case it automatically locks your computer for 15min to give you a chance to calm down...
- SpacemanSpiff, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Look at the endorsement from "RocketBoy" on the product page. He looks like a zombie.
http://www.razerzone.com/Products/Gaming-Keyboards/Razer-Tarantula-Gaming-Keyboard/ - inactive, on 12/26/2008, -1/+2'is about to be released' ? I work at Circuit City and we had it for at least two weeks now. As far as I can remember it's 99.99 or something like that (kinda expensive).
- TheCardinal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm lovin' my G15, but the frequently used keys all have paint worn off of them. I got mine shortly after they were released, I wonder if they've solved the issue.
- 3ntropy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2ROFL okay man you have fun with that, you just made my day..
*engages anti-undigg armor* - Nerfdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i'll be getting one. i've gone from a razer boomslang to a diamondback to a copperhead. love those mice, and this keyboard looks pretty slick as well.
- Nerfdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1my bad on the doublepost, but it's too late to edit. did anybody see the pics of the BattleLight? i'm DEFINITELY buying this keyboard now, this is just too sick.

- Creamedweasel, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Next time, please use punctuation, something like a '.' now and then couldn't hurt.
- rawM3TAL, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2G15 > Tarantula. I love mine.
And Logitech > Razer. It's plain and simple. You can't beat Logitech with all the years of experience backing them up. - Darksoul, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Creamedweasel
Next time, please use punctuation, something like a '.' now and then couldn't hurt
Btw just saw this post yeah I'm late but seriously blow me with that comment, I will make you a deal you grow a brain and a dick bigger then an inch and I will. - shlemielo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Ever used Das Keyboard?
http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/input/8396/
Yeah, me neither. - rationalist, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Hate to say this, being a big Razer fan (and owner of an original, serial-numbered limited-edition Boomslang), but: no ergonomics, no digg. Selling a straight keyboard these days is like marketing a watch with a radon dial.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1- no natural/ergo fit
- no blacklight for keys (yea, fn keys only, what was the point again?)
Why is this good again?
Whatever happened to the idea of creating custom usb devices that are programmable? - dimplemonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Where's Lebedev keyboard? That's the ultimate keyboard!
- magicmarc, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Gone already?

http://www.everythingusb.com/razer_tarantula_gaming_keyboard.html - wernst, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1WHY oh WHY does keyboard feel never get discussed in these "keyboard reviews?"
I don't care what features a keyboard has -- if typing on it feels like *****, then I'm not going to use it. Period.
To that end, I'm STILL using an IBM Model M or a Apple Extended Keyboard (1) with an iMate on my PC, along with a Belkin Nostromo aux. gaming keypad. Gaming and typing nirvana... - Uranium118, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I am so buying this.
- pauldonnelly, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Betcha my Model M can kick its ass.
I don't know why the other guy mentioning key feel got buried, but I'd also like to see reviews mention it. After all, what good is some fancy keyboard that feels like mush? I'd like to be able to use it more than I'd like to show off it's features to salivating nerds hyped up on way too many energy drinks at the next week-long LAN party. Not that built in USB ports and so on aren't cool, but you can't build a house without a solid foundation. - Darksoul, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I own a g15 and its a crappy keyboard the buttons where sprayed on the top instead of inside the key the keys wear off so far my s button has no s on it my w,q are showing wear don't get me wrong I like the g15 but it wanst that great from what I read about that new keyboard it was truly made for gamers they have a better feel to them from what I have read on their product website.
It actually has its on own board memory so it doesn't use your systems memory to run itself like the g15 I like that idea to run the dam g15 it takes a ton of memory don't believe me g15 owners check what memory its eating up in diagnostics just to run that lcd panel.
Plus on this razer they have special keys that are faster to push plus it looks like the paint job on the keyboard was sprayed under the keys unlike the g15 plus you can pop out old keys and add new ones yeah I wish I had waited for this razor keyboard instead of the g15, the g15 is all flash just made to look cool this one really seems it was made for true gamers in mind. - mbthompson, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1No way am I paying $100 for a keyboard. I'll stick to my Nostromo SpeedPad n52 ( http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=157024 ) for gaming and a regular keyboard for everything else.
- gib0r, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1The only feature I want in a keyboard are pushbuttons. Seriously...
- neoform, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2their website is funny, they show the keyboard and a picture of an asian talking about how it makes him frag faster. talk about stereotypical..
