- sockpuppets, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19We all know you have a small one. It's ok, size isn't as important as you think it is.
- sockpuppets, on 10/12/2007, -5/+22Are you for real? We all know what it means.
- PathDaemon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19Make it something like U3 which isn't restricted to one OS by design, then we'll talk.
- n8r0n, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15too damn small. I like the current sizes just fine, they are not to intrusive and are easy to tote around.
- holmes101, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12On a more serious note:

These things are only 15 bucks a pop after MIR. - burke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I think it was pretty obvious from the start that they were'nt describing it in GigaBits, but then again, that would be a pretty brilliant (if incredibly cheap and borderline illegal) marketing tactic.
- cogsprocket, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8There's no such thing as an "unbiased" review.
- andrewpmk, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8The photo shows that it is 1GB, with a capital B. The article incorrectly refers to it as "1Gb".
- SadMartigan, on 11/25/2008, -2/+8Maybe it's not exactly apples to oranges, but...
It seems that there have been several versions of 1 and 2 Gig SD-plus-USB cards out there, for at least half a year now (probably more) that are good and cheap, not to mention that they double as an SD card! When plugged into a USB port all that sticks out is half the chip (wafer-thin SD prongs of the card), not to mention that when plugged into an SD port - nothing sticks out. I've been carrying mine around in my pocket, loose, for months and months - No Problems & plenty quick. - yoda133113, on 10/12/2007, -0/+61) some of us like the super small, I've had the mini-kart now for a while on my keychain, and it's far more convenient than a full size drive.
2) they are developing super size regular ones, but shockingly the corporate world can develop more than one technology at a time. also as an example of the super size ones, heres a 32 gig that's regular USB stick size. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2074957&CatId=0 - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5http://image.rakuten.co.jp/from-zao/cabinet/html/soda-cracker200.gif
- bobabadabouskie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4ditto, kingmax rox.
- quackslax29, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5so much memory, such an honest price and ultimately portable
when is the ipod gonna get with it and go bargain
just don't forget your keys - achoi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6a soda cracker is a person of anglo-saxon descent that favors carbonated beverages. It's a term that has been incorrectly synonymous with juice cracker, I have no idea why.
- MooMaster716, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I'll take speed over size any day.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820220155
(32MB/sec read speed, 26MB/sec write speed)
Any one know of any faster thumb drives out there? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6what's a soda cracker?
- HAKdragon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5A soda cracker is another name for a saltine cracker.
- PathDaemon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Soda cracker, a.k.a. awesome delicious cracker.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soda_cracker - diggsilva, on 07/10/2008, -3/+6These are the smallest -- I have one, it's awesome and was cheap to boot.
http://www.kingmaxdigi.com/product/superstick.htm - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I belive MicroSD is smaller, but is probably more expensive and is not exactly USB.
- jackieboy37, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3ive got one too. agreed.
- Murdats, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Ive seen some this size for sale here for ages, half a year ago I think
- keikun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2these are nice, but the last "tiny" usb flash drive I bought fell off my keychain so I've refrained from purchasing these little devils and instead invested in a normal sized one.
- mikewhalley, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@ raytibbitts-
I don't know why someone dugg you down. I think that's a very valid point... those SD-style USB flash drives seem quite a good idea... especially if you use one in, say, a Palm PDA which you would carry around with you anyway (maybe even a TomTom?) - NeoPlatonist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I am perfectly happy with the size of my Cruzer micro. No, I don't need a magnifying glass to see it but it holds a gig, is about the size of a real key, is pretty durable, and didn't break my college student budget. I've never been a big fan of tiny electronics.
- t3hX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Although, the autorun bit won't work on OS X or Linux as they are actually designed to be secure :)
- Hindu_Wardrobe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Ooooh, OCZ. They made my RAM! Good quality stuff, actually.
- muka3d, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3The OCZ Mini-Kart is smaller, and it comes in 2GB.

Action Shot: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/OCZ/MiniKart/images/notebook.jpg - Ythan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Another happy Kingmax user here. OCZ's product looks nice and all, but Kingmax has been offering smaller and cheaper drives for some time now, with up to four times the capacity and advertised as waterproof. I'm quite pleased with mine, and the new "Super Stick Pro" looks even cooler!
- Ludnix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1My OCZ rally flash drive hardly weighs anything, I don't imagine it weighs much more than this latest drive. I'd highly recommend any OCZ flash drive after getting my rally flash drive, they are very slim in size, well built, and fast.
- jhshukla, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i second that. and if we have tech to miniaturize to this extent, why don't we fit more data, say 64G, on a 2-3 inch stick?
- sephiroth965, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have a microSD card for my phone and they are not as wide as the usb port itself, so any usb card has to be slightly larger than microSD.
- jkr06, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2And I'll wait for the day when flash drives become more stable. I have seen many flash drives that simply become unreadable for simply the reason that you cancelled the write operation in the middle. Even formatting doesn't help. VERY annoying, especially if you lost the receipt.
- PathDaemon, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4I call dupe on your comment.
- jamesgott, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1how about they make them have more space, then work on making them smaller?
- PathDaemon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2...But overpriced as hell, compared to similar-sized drives.
- coreyb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Okay, So this is what I carry around. 2 Gig and I still have yet to see one smaller.
$33 US too.
http://www.clubit.com/product_detail.cfm?itemno=CA4302104 - PathDaemon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Link, otherwise your comment is useless. "made in Mexico BTW" doesn't help me get more info.
- burke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's a cracker you put in soup. Most common brand here in Canada is "Premium Plus".
http://www.kraftcanada.com/NR/rdonlyres/A5B9B285-D061-4A63-B761-7B77155311F5/0/PPlus_salted_Eng_225g.jpg - IcanFLY, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Digg++ for the X60s!
- raccettura, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Looks to fragile. I got a Sandisk Cruzer Titanium. It's actually made out of metal, and rated for 2000lbs. Light, and still pretty small.
IMHO this small stuff is just to weak to be more than show. - tardmongerster, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Not this again. Every month or so some dimwit realizes that USB drives are really tiny and posts what he thinks is the smallest one.
- Tweaknews, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What, you mean the picture on page two of the review. I show it next to a penny.
- samsoffes, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3digg commenting has gone down hill. look at all of the negative comments... its depressing. i miss the early days of digg.
- cybortrip, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16 grams? damn i hate how small these things are getting...any time they spec something out in grams i start fiending. time to hit the slopes
- kagelump, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sony microvault is smaller :D (judging by the action shot)
tho truthfully, not by much - psjohnso, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I will agree that SD card that has the fold out USB is likely the smallest. I have a 1GB SanDisk Ultra II and it came with a nifty holder you can put on your keyring. Very handy especially if you have SD devices.
You can get a 512mb at Circuit City for 9.99 after rebate.

http://www.buslinkbuy.com/products.asp?sku=BDP2%2D64G%2DU2 - kagelump, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0sony microvaults are shorter imo (judging from the length of the usb contacts to body size)
and they 2gb version had been out for a while
works like a charm =] -
