Actually, it'd probably look pretty bad. Most porn is low quality to begin with, blow it up that big and you'll see all the imperfections. You'll probably just end up watching it at its regular resolution.
You could probably watch 12-13 different movies on one though. - revmonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+99OMG! Huger Monitors!

^.^ - ZeitMachina, on 10/12/2007, -1/+84This company used to be known as Liebermann - they mock up fake crap in order to pull in more VC funding. Engadget and Gizmodo debunk them on a regular basis:

This is just more press to support the venture capital addiction of an irresponsible fraud. Dugg down as innacurate. - themanmachine, on 10/12/2007, -25/+88@taro
Exactly. I like to open multiple windows of porn videos on my 24" and pretend I'm watching a huge orgy. So with these, it would be a dream cum true. - revenge7, on 10/12/2007, -3/+56http://www.l-computer.com/monitors/athens/features/index.htm

- Bob042, on 10/12/2007, -0/+25Cool monitor, but this reeks of blogspam. Website that bites it almost instantly, not linking to an actual site, and even the first comment is an alt.
...Not to mention the picture on the blog proclaiming "Get reviewed by this blog for only $40!" - SteaminTmann, on 10/12/2007, -3/+28And I thought noone would bring up apple in this thread...... looks like we were both wrong.

5:4 is very common with mid range LCDs (1280x1024) - edzieba, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21Why use such a weird 5:4 aspect ratio?
- pjack91, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18is it just me or does it look like the powerscape ultra hd is asking to be karate chopped

- dignation, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16I was really hoping for one huge 128,000 by 102,400 pixel monitor...
- smartssa, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Big time. I just realized the first comment was from.. himself.
- MAdaXe42, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12I used to work on a trading floor with a few rather highly strung individuals - we had monitor trees like this - we only had 6 LCDs per stand, but one chap did make a bad trade, and throw his desk over, complete with monitor... They just bought him another.
- IvanB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11These huge monitors remind me of the Diggnation episode with the Samsung monitor segement:
"Let's put a giant ***** on it and then take a picture for the website!" - Alex
"It would be my Wii up on there" - Kevin - davidrools, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11I'll stick with my 3x19" LCDs (3840x1024 total resolution) that only added up to about $600. That and these three screens span the entire width of my 4' wide desk. And yes, they are all put to very good use...for multitasking not multiwhacking
- alwaysmc2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10"Eww, the pic of the Zenview Atlas 19S seems to indicate they're still running win 98/2K."
Not necessarily. System administrators seem to LOVE Windows Classic. Don't ask me why. - nubbler, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11I wonder how long it takes to move the mouse from one side to the other.
- maehem, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14Stoopid. Just a bunch of monitors side by side. The fanciest part is the mounting stand that holds them together.
Do it for half that by going to CostCo and find a welder to make a mounting frame for it. - JohnnyBoy117, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9That monitor would be about 7'x6', people would have trouble getting those through doors.
- nubnub, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10they need to create a curved monitor.

- frozendice, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Or just get a large/projection tv that has a connection for whatever monitor you have. They have been out for years. Hey, an even bigger monitor is a projector. Just use it on the wall. OMG SCANDALOUS!
- JakeX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I remember reading that l-computers was just a ton of VAPORWARE... so this is just a fancy photoshop / 3d creation :P
I know they promised a ton of products in the past that they ended up never delivering.

Let's all go get guns. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7My girlfriend works dispatch for the local sheriff's office and they have setups like that. One monitor runs GPS tracking on all the cruisers. Another one is set up to run background checks. Another one has graphic representations of the 19 radio channels and can selectively listen, transmit and log audio. Another one is the current status of fire/rescue and their GPS coordinates. I can't remember the rest off the top of my head. In all she watches six screens all the time. Their workstations are these rigs with hydraulic lifts that position the monitors where they work best for each dispatcher. You can set them up for height, angle of inclination and distance from the operator. It's odd to watch them hit their preset and the screens all start articulating towards the operator at the same time.
FWIW, that place gives me a raging headache in the span of a few minutes. I don't know how they do it. Last time I was there some guy walked in a drug store and whacked a lady in the head with a hammer, took her purse and used the keys inside to steal her car. I was getting all wrapped up in making sure a cruiser got there fast when a call came in that some people were burning to death in a collision on the highway. Both of those calls generated so much radio traffic and data that my head nearly exploded trying to keep track of them, but there were a dozen other minor calls going on at the same time. I came home and took a nap. ;-) - CorporateFelon, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8@revenge7
I honestly cant believe that "company" is still around. I have yet to actually ever hear a credible report of any actual hardware existing. Plus all the picts of the monitors are all computer renderings.
They are even worse than the company that tried to make the phantom game console or what ever that ***** was. - Djeserkare, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7This is not real. There was a nearly identical website on the internet 3 or 4 years ago with the exact same products, and it turned out to be a hoax. If you actually LOOK at the things they are "selling", you will find that all of the technology is at least 3 years old. Their laptops use P4 mobile processors, which my alienware laptop from early 2004 uses. Also, try to buy something from this store.... can't? hmmmmm.......

Sorry for comment hijacking... - hypermint, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I use to intern at this company a while back ago. I saw no actual products while i was there. This company needs to just go away.
- robinator08, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The best part is that the Atlas is:
# Eight 19" super-premium Samsung LCD panels
# 5120 by 2048 resolution (8X 1280x1024 SXGA panels)
Meaning you could have that for way less if you just bought 8 monitors...and 8 monitors is overkill anyways. - Khojigybarra, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Meh, I was expecting a huge monitor, not a bunch of monitors synched together.
- phatvolvo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4wasn't it a Siemens?
- MagicBobert, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7@mejogid
It's common, but idiotic. I want to shoot the person that decided to use 5:4 instead of 4:3. - dw2005, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"This company used to be known as Liebermann - they mock up fake crap in order to pull in more VC funding. Engadget and Gizmodo debunk them on a regular basis:"
Im not saying your wrong but do you have any proof of that accusation? Engadget themselves has an article about Zenview and it mentions nothing about them being formerly Liebermann.

- FunkyWitDaSysTm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4i'd rather have a multi-touch, integrated isight cinema display. but still, a cinema display.
- aristotle0dude, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4These are not huge monitors. They are arrays of monitors. Buried as inaccurate. I already have a 26" 1920x1200 monitor and 1440X900 15" laptop monitor. BFD.
- Moria, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I thought everyone saw these about 2 years ago?
The look nice, but I'd much rather a Cinema display... -
