- Notluf, on 10/12/2007, -27/+8About dang time. Been waiting for them to finally come out of prototype with it.
- oltompic, on 10/12/2007, -6/+15The site reads "Release date: 14.07.2005"; and another part of it reads "End of 2006". A good product is all about attention to detail. Their site has fickle information. With that said, so will the product.
- zealotgi, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Not according to http://www.theshadowsun.net
- Disjunto, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1the release date that mentions 2005 is the date the optimus keyboard information was released
- freesoftware, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1It's "OLED" not "LED" to start...

This story is 9 days away from being burried! HORRAY!

- TJ229ER, on 10/12/2007, -5/+19Ummm so where do I order it then?
- matrixneo, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1couldn't find the current price.
- numist, on 10/12/2007, -12/+4Too bad its their only decent product... their mouse scares me
- Recluse, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1It doesn't scare me but it does look like a bad idea.
- FullMetalMonkey, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7How much!
- geminitojanus, on 10/12/2007, -3/+20Damn, they should offer pre-orders, they could have made enough to have gotten into production by now.
I'm pretty sure if I bought one of these, it'd be the last keyboard I ever bought (well, maybe. there was a really cool prototype keyboard with rearrangable keys, I'd buy one of those just for the hell of it). It'd definitely have a spot on my desk for year and years to come.
I can't wait until the SDK gets released either. Imagine keys that played a little splash animation when you pressed it, or the colors of your keys changing to ambiently match the light put out by your monitor. The possibilites are endless. - geminitojanus, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13"How much!"
ITFA: "It'll cost as much as a good mobile phone". So anywhere between $100 and $300, depending if you're talking RAZR/Treo good or LG good.- TitaniumSniper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3the 3 key version costs $150 so a 100 key could be $5000 at $50 per key
- Kyoushu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The 3-key version also has alot bigger keys. You can probably assume that each key will be around 20-30(according to size difference), making the overall price 2000-3000.
- TitaniumSniper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3the 3 key version costs $150 so a 100 key could be $5000 at $50 per key
- mkjones, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Finally. I really thought this was gonna fade and die like so many other great ideas.
- Psionic, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2That's well worth the price.. I would totally pre-order it the second it came out.. Damn.. I gotta get one...
+digg- FreakTrap, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16"I would totally pre-order it the second it came out.."
If it was all ready out, why would you pre-order it?
- FreakTrap, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16"I would totally pre-order it the second it came out.."
- HiddenS3crets, on 10/12/2007, -7/+0I've been waiting to see this product on the shelves! Still don't know if I should get one or not though >_
- 1ivewire, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1That's pretty sweet. Hopefully I'll stop seeing those customized keyboards for specific games on the shelves some day.
- jadedknight, on 10/12/2007, -22/+0W00000t! I am going to but a few! Damn that keyboard is like..is like...is like..t3h R0X0rs!!!! omg I need one!!! w00t
- badsector, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2I want one!
- Lyph3, on 10/12/2007, -2/+31It's "OLED" not "LED"
- ThinkBox, on 11/11/2007, -4/+32Funny how the most dugg story of the year is obviously innacurate now.
- IBadassI, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1It can be "OLED", ever heard of Organic LEDs? There are devices that come with OLED displays you know. As in on the screen in this review:
http://www.pocket-lint.co.uk/reviews/review.phtml/1278/2302/SupportPlus-Q-BE-512MB-MP3-Player.phtml
- techlinks, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Umm. It's OLED. :P
- mezz, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0Finally a day !!! I am so glad they are finally making this!
- mck9235, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0This is awesome. :D
I'm scared to find out what the price will be, though, hopefully nothing to crippling. - Yang1205, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5I'm guessing by the pictures its wireless. I think that would be awesome looking at the fonts change on your keyboard. I do have some more questions that aren't answered on the FAQ.
For one, are there any other ports the keyboard needs to hook up to besides the standard one? maybe USB also? and of course How much does it cost? And will i have to download a driver for each program/game that I am running or is it automatic?- Whitey04, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Since you can't see any wires in the photo you can assume they still havn't built a working production model yet.
If they ever will... - gModo, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4yea wires are usually edited out of pictures anyways, not exactly the most attractive things
- Whitey04, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Since you can't see any wires in the photo you can assume they still havn't built a working production model yet.
- teh_toaster, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0i think its been a year since it was first revealed, glad to see it coming to frution (I spell-checked this work twice).
I wonder what A.L. could do with a mouse. - barbobot, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0YAY holy crap i've been waiting for this.
- RMuffin, on 10/12/2007, -10/+1Finally!!
It'd be really cool if they opened it up so you could program it yourself...
1+ (0|_||[) +`/|*3 |33+ |=0|2 `/0|_| - lightdarknes, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0CAN'T WAIT!
- xtremesniper, on 10/12/2007, -7/+4Ummm.. I still say this wont be anywhere on release date. Why? Because we haven't seen any new shots of the keyboard ever since it was first announced last year. Same shots re-used. No digg.
- tcomputerchip, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This story is inaccurate, the idea was stolen from a patent filed more than a decade ago. If anything they have paid for the patent and are using it or being sued.
I have seen the original patent more than 2 years before the product was even release on that site. And, it was from the person who invented it. Not some bogus site claiming they have made the first LED keyboard.

- tecmec, on 10/12/2007, -7/+0I cant beleive they still didn't fix the enter key. If they dont fix the enter key I wont buy one...as much as I love the idea
- glenneroo, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0indeed the ENTER key is waaaaaaaaaaaaay toooooo far away!
and whats with the blank key making the gap so big?? rip that sucker out or better yet, merge it with ENTER!
- glenneroo, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0indeed the ENTER key is waaaaaaaaaaaaay toooooo far away!
- Vladk1000, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1Finally, I've been waiting for this for a long time.

-Nick - geminitojanus, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11"It'd be really cool if they opened it up so you could program it yourself..."
LOL It'd be really cool if you RFTA:
It’s in the initial stage of production.
It will be an open-source keyboard, SDK will be available.
It will be OS-independent (at least it’s going to be able to work in some default state with any OS).
It will support any language or layout
Each key could be programmed to produce any sequence.
BOLD::: It will cost less than a good mobile phone. :::END BOLD - hominid, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0schow schweeeeeeeet :)
- Alaerus, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4It would be really nice if they would make replacement keyboards for laptops with this technology.
- barbobot, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1"It'd be really cool if they opened it up so you could program it yourself..."

- fishgeekva, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0looks cool but it looks really big. The mouse is weird, who still uses a one button mouse?
- Tkkt, on 10/12/2007, -7/+10I'm going to set up the custom buttons to launch diff kinds of porn.
Butthole pleasures at the push of a button! - bubba88xw, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0awesome stuff... cept that enter key is a little funky, take some getting used to...
- DenZ88, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0Finally! A release date!!
I wonder how much this thing costs - OregonTrail, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0OMG YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!
I remember diggin the first story to the frontpage.... ah good times - jm56692, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2It's an awesome concept but I've seen a lot of discussion about why it would not work (yet) and that these guys are actually digital artists not manufacturers. e.g.: http://hardware.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=05/07/14/1335215&tid=126&tid=159&tid=227
BTW, geminitojanus - check this out if you want re-arrangable keys: http://www.ergodex.com - I haven't seen actually one in the flesh but it is a looks great on the web :)) - JeffH, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0I'm a tad afraid that it's going to be $150+. At $100-$140-ish, it will be well worth it, as that's the price of a high-end Microsoft, Saitek or Logitech keyboard, but after $140...it's just too much for something as simple as a keyboard.
- PhantomaZero, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0I shall be purchasing six of these.
- dee-vee, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Ill wait for the reviews first.
- tifosiv122, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2I'll believe it when someone actually gets one in hand...this can't be made for $100-300 per
- Nick_Circosta, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0150US, thats a BARGAIN for a product like that, i'm happy to pay up to 400AU for it i mean its WELL worth it
- NeilM, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1And my birthday is February 15 and I look forward to asking my mummy and daddy for this fine piece of technology. I'll be the coolest kid on the block!
- digitol, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4OLED = Orgasmic Light Emitting Diode! =)
- Tezgno, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Can't wait. For $150, I'd by it today!!!
