- rynoon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Headphone Jack to RCA tends to do the trick for me. $3 at Radioshack.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5iPod rules this markets. So you're going to see tons of these types of players vs others.
- Gamblor24, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Anyone who truely loves sound knows NOT to buy Logitech....when it comes to sound. Logitech may be good for keyboards or mice, but definatly not sound. Let me share a story. (Scroll down to bottom for shortened story....its not as good though)
I bought the Logitech z5500 (digital) speaker package about half a year ago for the sale that Futureshop was offering. Good price for sure. I was excited, who wouldn't be with a 55lb speaker box ready to be opened at home. Opened them, installed them and tested them. Big dissapointment. Sure they looked nice but sound quality wise....it was just not up to par. My dad had the Klipsch 2.1 Promedia, which got me jealous, hence the Logitech buy. His 2.1 setup with Klipsch completly blew logitech out of the water. I was so dissapointed with logitech that I packed them up the next morning and returned them. So weeks pass and I keep looking at the flyers for speaker sales. FINALLY, The Klipsch Pro-media 5.1 Ultra go on sale. From $620CND to $299CND. I was extatic! I quickly got to the nearest london drugs and got there the day of the sale early in the morning. Sure enough they had plenty to sell. Grabbed it and headed home in a rush. Opened them up, installed them, and my god....was more than impressed. The highs and lows were to die for. Everything about these speakers just worked. The look, the sound, the price. I found exactly what I was looking for. By now your probably telling yourself what this has to do with the article. I assure you I got a point.
Please dont rush out to pick up these logitech speakers so fast. I encourage you to test things out first, and really spend your money wisely. If its sound your looking for then Klipsch is where you should be heading.
Oh, and 1 more thing that really ticked me off about this article....Its not called Boss SoundDock, its BOSE SoundDock. Reading this guys article alone tells me he has no idea what he is talking about.
(shortened story, if you read the longer version dont bother)
Logitech suck at sound. If your looking for real sound quality get a Klipsch, any audiophile knows that.
HOPE THIS HELPS. - drewman77, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2It's competing against the Boss SoundDock apparently. Can you say spell check without a sanity check?
- Quix, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Logitech makes some great speakers. I was surprised to learn this too. I bought a set of Z-5500s and they're excellent.
- silkysaul, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3@ Quix
Klipsch destroys them when it comes to actual sound quality despite being analog =) - c86v4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I spent some time looking for a good set of computer speaks to listen to my iPod with, to no avail. I finally decided to go the route of buying a small Yamaha receiver I'd read about, the RP-U100 (which will also act as an external sound card for your computer) and a couple small Mirage (I'm Canadian) Omni directional speakers.
The set-up was ~$300 CDN when all was said and done. The only catch is that Yamaha stop making the receivers a couple years ago, so the only place you'll find one is on EBay or Amazon.
Anyway, I really recommend this set-up.
Try it out! - Hardcase, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Looks to me like TechZone has a press release instead of a review. But, hey, that's just me.
- emorphien, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2looks expensive, that's more than I'd pay for Logitech speakers!
- statikuz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Can we get some correctly-spelled headlines anytime soon?
- paralleljay, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2I hate to say it, but that was my first reaction when looking at the picture. I literally said "wow!" Now I just need to go to the local big box and see if it sounds as nice as it looks.
- TechnoCat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Not only is this indeed on the LogiTech website, but I reviewed it in the "In Home" section of the iLounge.com forums over a week ago.
- ptrcd003, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I think what silkysaul meant was: OMG THE Z5500's RULE!!!!111
In which case, I agree. - nufoto, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Looks like a Hot Sound System better than all the white Stuff!
- WormBoy, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4Wow, what makes this different from all the other versions that other companies have let out? Too much is focused on iPod, people should look into zens and other types of companies...
