- revenge7, on 10/12/2007, -3/+20Ouch. Bet it gets ***** gas mileage.
- flamingmb, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18looks like something out an apocalyptic future movie.
- raptordrew, on 10/12/2007, -5/+20To bring in a wonderful YTMND overused phrase - ***** stole my earthmover!
- astrosmash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Yes, but it gets terrific gas dirtage.
- Phocion55, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17I saw the first picture a long time ago and thought it was Photoshopped.
What we need to do now is build another one with a gigantic axe pick and battle them.... - SourWorm, on 10/12/2007, -5/+18From the wiki article, here is a link to one seen in google maps.

- ptrcd003, on 10/12/2007, -5/+15Whats the horsepower on one of those?
- raptordrew, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11Looks like a boss you'd encounter in Star Fox or something of the like.
- griz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Yes, but even Jason walks while the victim runs and you know the result.
- dpknc84, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7This is cool and all, and I digg it, but the blog author should have cited the original author (Gadgetopia) where he ripped his text from word for word:

- Tyr86, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7It looks like a version of the Sandcrawler. Wouldn't surprise me if you walked up to it and a bunch of Jawas popped out.
- bugsy187, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6All we need is an opponent for this thing to battle.

Do you know the engineering nightmare that must have been?
- blackprizm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Imagine the fun you could have if you hijacked one of these babies.
- SourWorm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Or better yet, a few of them and then race them across the country.
- Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Wouldn't it be cheaper to hire a bunch of third world laborers with shovels?
- bairy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4big gas/petrol bills
- Flamekebab, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Thank gods, I can't think in non-metric for things like this. Miles per hour, yes, but not large heights or lengths.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3One question: How the hell do you transport from location to location? Moving it only 50 miles would take just short of a week at top speed (1/3 mph) driving 24 hours a day. And it's too large and heavy to be put on any sort of flatbed.
- DarkSorrow, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6it already in the record, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bucket-wheel_excavator#Size
- bikini, on 10/12/2007, -16/+19i, for one, welcome our new titanic monstrosity overlords.
- wakazashi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3What are you nuts? This has been featured on "Modern Marvels" and "Extreme Machines" on the Discovery channel. The thing is massive and you can see it form space (check the google maps link above).
I love how everyone and their brother these days claims to be an expert in the art of photographic manipulation. - grumpyrain, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I wouldn't care if that machine did nothing, it looks awesome.
- inkswamp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That's no bucket excavator. That's the new iPod.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Weighing in at 45,500 tons, I'd say it's safe to classify it as an earth mover :)
- rezryder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2They have these machines in Wyoming, they use them for the same purpose, they use these freaking huge dump trucks to move the coal they produce 24, 7, 365 days a year , coal production is going up in the Midwest, since they found a way to extract the oil out of coal.
- MiningGab, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4The excavator is connected to a conveyor system.
- bikini, on 10/12/2007, -6/+8overused phrases never get old.

- ilgaz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Krups makes coffee makers. Different companies.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1you know what they say about men with big cars.
- Kruncher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The first though that came to mind was a level from an old game I used to play: Fur Fighters on the Sega Dreamcast (also on the PS2, but I'm not sure if it had the same levels). The level was in the world: "Beaver Power" and I believe it was called "God Machine Valley". The level starts out with you looking upon a machine that looks oddly similar to this one.
