- bigwophh, on 02/28/2009, -0/+23The programmable matter sounds like it's straight out of Star Trek, until you talk to an Intel Engineer and it all of a sudden seems possible.
- angrycat, on 03/01/2009, -2/+15Catoms are like atoms, except made up of cats.
- nullcodes, on 03/01/2009, -0/+10Interested in the catoms concept (aka claytronic atoms), but don't wanna google?

They have a few cool videos too. - nullcodes, on 03/01/2009, -0/+9Video showing the potential of claytronics using catoms:

- TheZorch, on 03/01/2009, -1/+7What was science fiction often becomes reality eventually. Is this really a surprise to anyone?
- wafflesomd, on 03/01/2009, -0/+5Thanks.
- ricopicouk, on 03/01/2009, -0/+5The article describes lots of cool things that were on show at the event, however the 'ability to squeeze your cell phone down to the size of pack of gum ' was just an idea that intel had.
The 80 core processor sounds cool though. - CATSCEO2, on 03/01/2009, -0/+5If by "cancer and mental health issues" you mean "possible electric shock", then yes.
- davecachia, on 03/01/2009, -0/+4You think it might be the LOUD NOISES?
- Qumahlin, on 03/01/2009, -0/+4The best part of the movie "The Last Mimzy" was when they find out the bear was made by Intel in the future.
- jonahan52, on 03/01/2009, -1/+5Nobody? Did anyone read this as condoms?
- twiztidsinz, on 03/01/2009, -1/+4Oh *****, it's caturday???
All day I've been thinking its *****
Silly me - govsucks, on 03/01/2009, -4/+7Catoms, frakin wow. SDK please. :)
Oh, and because it isn't said nearly enough, especially on digg, thanks for pulling humanity forward multi-national corporation. - Asrrin29, on 03/01/2009, -0/+3Prove it. Everyday we are bombarded with radiation from millions of man-made and natural sources from all over the universe. one more source isn't going to add much unless it is extremely high powered, which of cource would not make it's way past FCC regulations.
- Sabretou, on 03/01/2009, -0/+3Yes, they said in 1950 that I should have a flying car by now.
- Osirus1156, on 03/01/2009, -0/+3That kinda sounded like an infomercial...
- KibibyteBrain, on 03/01/2009, -0/+2Sending high power signals thorough the air can lead to very high radiation emissions near the source. However, its old news than many of these transmission problems have been solved through coupling and spread spectrum type techniques, so the whole cooking beam concept of wireless power is so 1990s.
- Ramble, on 03/01/2009, -0/+2I actually have a lot of trouble performaing any experiment that is related to electricity or electronics due to the electric fields in the room. You're already surrounded by it.
- banshee90, on 03/01/2009, -0/+2The problem with flying cars teh force vectoring and the fact people arent skilled to drive something with wheels imagine if people were in the air and wrecked.
- nullcodes, on 03/01/2009, -0/+2You must be a pussy, because my cat feels the same way about electricity traveling through air, which is why he runs and hides when there's a thunderstorm.
- twiztidsinz, on 03/01/2009, -1/+3Don't worry.. You've got your TINFOIL HAT!!!!!
- DaNuKaSAN, on 03/01/2009, -0/+2Sweet! I'll finally be able to pull a Tony Stark, and fold my power suit into my briefcase!
- desertDenizen, on 03/01/2009, -0/+2Buried for multiple "which we've talked about before" with no links.
- Ttech2, on 03/01/2009, -0/+2Terminator!
- CaptOblivious, on 03/01/2009, -0/+2LOL how bout a tinfoil cup? No, not a drinking cup...
- inactive, on 03/01/2009, -0/+2Cations are like atoms except with less electrons.
- NC7U, on 03/01/2009, -1/+1Not sure about mental health but will agree about cancer related damage. I assume RF is involved and that just isn't good at any a frequency for any length of time.
- wibambau, on 03/01/2009, -7/+5I had to:

After all, it's Caturday.
Someone good at this, please post some nice catom creations, thanks. - onux16, on 03/01/2009, -7/+3The joke isn't funny anymore. Do us all a favor and stop using it.
- PixelMagic, on 02/28/2009, -12/+6But will it run Crysis?
- EnergyEinstein, on 03/01/2009, -11/+2Sending electricity through the air? Bad ***** idea. Increased cancer and mental health issues anyone?
