- sliksta, on 10/23/2008, -0/+2ARM rules. Their chips are used for so many products because they are so good.
Intel is just being a pathetic crybaby cuz their want some of ARM's marketshare. But they cant do SoC like ARM does at this time. - Brian48216, on 10/23/2008, -0/+1you could always swap out the motherboard...
- MuffinFlavored, on 10/23/2008, -0/+1I honestly do not understand why ARM is an insufficient architecture. The processor used in the iPhone is the ARM1176JZ(F)-S (according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ARM_architecture) and is capable of approximately 700 million instructions per second.
- madwaxer, on 10/23/2008, -2/+1frankly i hate the fact that when you buy a pc you get stuck with a specific chipset. there should be a standard setup for the processor chip component much like usb standards so we can all upgrade our darn processors when they become obsolete.
i look forward to a day when you can buy externally housed chips and add them to your pc when you need them to increase capacity to the computer. at which pint we could build supercomputers at home.
