- gn0stik, on 11/15/2007, -1/+18Germany: Inventing ***** that writes bibles since the 15th century.
- scott2007, on 11/14/2007, -6/+14You know, there are some very good things in the Bible, especially the New Testament. You should try reading it more carefully.
- TheHydrogens, on 11/14/2007, -0/+8This is true. Even as a non-Christian, you can see some of the good ideas that come up in the New Testament... Jesus was a pretty chill guy for the most part, and his ideas on forgiveness and loving others are great no matter what your belief system is.
- Berkana, on 11/15/2007, -0/+8Wow. It writes the bible in caligraphy. Puts Gutenberg's press to shame. The question is, how fast can it write?
- robme, on 11/14/2007, -2/+10...damn those robots for taking all the good jobs and putting hard-working dancers, painters and bible-writers out on the street.
- gn0stik, on 11/14/2007, -0/+8In other news, Germany, NOT Japan, built a kickass robot.
- Octegon, on 11/15/2007, -0/+7This Is GERMANY!
- inactive, on 11/14/2007, -0/+6The word of God, written by a creation of man, who is a creation of God?
This is MADNESS! - inactive, on 11/14/2007, -1/+7Yeah, but can it use there and their correctly?
- coleelectric, on 11/14/2007, -0/+5They also like Hasselhoff there.
- Octegon, on 11/14/2007, -2/+7That would be awesome if it started recognizing sinners by their brain waves and began dealing out the Lord's justice.
"BIBLE BOT SMITES THEE!!" *stab* *stab* *stab* - WordsnCollision, on 11/14/2007, -0/+5Puts Futurama's 'Robot Devil' to shame.
- romistrub, on 11/14/2007, -0/+4I'm under the working assumption that the calligraphy is just a demonstration of how accurate the industrial robot's motor abilities are.
- Calcularius, on 11/14/2007, -2/+5Don't get me wrong, I *LOVE* robots, but isn't this just an over-engineered plotter?
- inactive, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2I have a 12" club single somewhere that uses the "voice of world control" sample in it. It's from the 80s. *racks brain trying to remember*
- VictoryGin, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2They tuk-er-jeobs!
- gn0stik, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2Regardless of whether or not you believe it, it's not trash. Many of the stories in the bible are very well written, and good literature in it's own right.
Moron. - Octegon, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2True. But I always thought that Revelations would be more believable with sentient genocidal robots, anyways.
- threeboy, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2If it runs out of ink you throw it away...
- EricAnderton, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2++for mentioning Gutenberg.
So I guess this art installation is supposed to (forgive the pun) draw a parallel between the printing press and mechanization? - inactive, on 11/14/2007, -2/+4Or perhaps it could write you some directions for how to shut your blaspheming mouth.
- gn0stik, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2Hahaha Good call, However, I don't think so, since it only writes in German.
- DreKor, on 11/14/2007, -1/+3unless, of course, you base your belief system on resentment and hating others, then it doesn't mesh too well.
- inactive, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2It will with the correct blender attachment. Then it can be a bartender at a froofy bar where they serve frozen mixed drinks!
- MonarchWastxD, on 11/14/2007, -2/+3Do you HAVE to push your opinions on others?
- aliengoods, on 11/14/2007, -1/+2Not just cool, but educational. Now we can have an army of robots teaching white men to dance.
- inactive, on 11/14/2007, -1/+2Success?
- d3dm, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1And somewhere in a basement in Germany some teenager is thinking...
"This is going to be the BEST prom, ever!" - Calcularius, on 11/14/2007, -2/+3My printer can do about 20 pages a minute.
- lovestospooge, on 11/14/2007, -1/+2But, can it blend?
- Chordinator, on 11/14/2007, -2/+3Whether or not you choose to believe what the Bible teaches, it's an accurate historical text. It would be wise for you not to remain ignorant.
- Dorkbot101, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1Yes, but can it dance, paint, and write the bible at the same time?
Also, where's the video of it dancing? - HunterTV, on 11/15/2007, -2/+3"This is the voice of world control. I bring you peace.
It may be the peace of plenty and content or the peace
of unburied dead. The choice is yours: Obey me and live,
or disobey and die. Freedom is an illusion. All you lose is
the emotion of pride. To be dominated by me is not as bad
for humankind as to be dominated by others of your species.
Your choice is simple." - ijustfloat, on 11/15/2007, -0/+1Ohhh man this is sweet. It dances, writes Bibles, empathizes with people, paints portraits.
It's like a DaVinci-Travolta-nun-a-chiatrist-...bot. - sagat, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1Am I the only one more impressed with the antique Japanese contraption?
- DreKor, on 11/14/2007, -1/+2inconclusive!
- ijustfloat, on 11/15/2007, -0/+1Ohhh man this is sweet. It dances, writes Bibles, empathizes with people, paints portraits.
It's like a DaVinci-Travolta-nun-a-chiatrist-...bot. - wipis, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1Wow a robot that is good at replication of information and repetitive tasks. Stop the presses robots are taking over the world. *yawn*. Now that antique calligraphy toy is interesting.
- DreKor, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1The robot crusades would be fun to watch, until you get an industrial size hammer to the face.
- loganhid, on 11/14/2007, -5/+6yeah but will it blend?
- ophello, on 11/14/2007, -1/+2the bible doesnt dampen intelligence. its a cause-effect bias you're promoting: that the bible causes stupidity. a ***** lame conclusion. it is equally plausible that stupid people are drawn to the bible.
- HunterTV, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0064177/
- Calcularius, on 11/14/2007, -3/+3Do you HAVE to be so defensive about your own?
- inactive, on 11/14/2007, -2/+2It's pretty cool. It actually looks like a robot I used in school about 15 years ago while studying programming. I think the main difference is the incredible accuracy it would take to do the calligraphy. I also think it's great that they used the bible, if for no other reason then to piss the unbelievers on digg off.
- humperdeath, on 11/14/2007, -1/+1I heard of a trained monkey that was typing Shakespeare's "Romeo & Juliet". They selected this monkey from a pool of millions. Or maybe more.
- amyjones09, on 11/15/2007, -0/+0good one more step for computers to take over
- edrift101, on 11/14/2007, -1/+1Fight the future! http://www.keithandthegirl.com/huar/
- NStuart88, on 11/14/2007, -0/+0Does it do walls? I have a whole house that needs to be painted. :)
