VooDoo1 - theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -2/+67Rendition? S3? Number Nine? Orchid? 3D Labs? Intel? Matrox?
This list is HARDLY complete with *Every* as the title states. - Aliasing, on 10/12/2007, -14/+67Infinitely better list (system) with breakdown, benchmarks and comparitive analysis.
http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics.html
Tom's VGA charts are THE last word on graphics card comparison. - punkrockscks, on 10/12/2007, -5/+52My 7300gt = craptacular.
- SwissCamel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+42Turns out mine is *****.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+37HOW big did you say your e-penis was?
- gometro33, on 10/12/2007, -1/+30I've got the #49 spot (9800Pro, coming up on 4 years old) Still plays all the games I want.
- DigitalJester, on 10/12/2007, -0/+28Damn, you guys took down one of my favourite forums
- drvelocity, on 10/12/2007, -2/+26Man I'll never forget the day I fired up Quake II with the Rendition Verite for the first time.. absolutely incredible! And bonus points for the best video card name ever. Rendition Verite is to "Ferrari Testarossa" as 7800GTX is to.. well, a really ***** car name that only uses numbers.
- KoKoFuFU, on 10/12/2007, -9/+31Me too. I don't read that stuff. I just keep playing The Sims and pretend game development stopped in 2004
- SecretSandman, on 10/12/2007, -4/+25I love how there is ABSOLUTELY NO MENTION OF HOW THESE CARDS WERE RANKED. Honestly, this list is meaningless until I know HOW they were ranked. 3Dmark? Games? Some other bench? There is zero context, except for a toms hardware VGA charts link, which is useless, because THG tests with a number of benchmarks and none were specified in the thread. At least THG tells me what kind of system they tested on, and what programs they used. Honestly, even if they did say which bench they were referring to, this is nothing but a cheap copy paste job from the site that actually did the work. (tomshardware) Typical Overclock.net bullsh*t.
- woojoo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21at least yours can run pong :'(

- sa7ouri, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15"This list is for all the ATI lovers out there. We finally come out on top."
Well, can you buy an X2800XTX card yet? No. So technically, nVidia is still on top.
By the time the R600 comes out (April/May), nVidia will probably have something better out there.
I always laugh at people comparing the non-existent R600 with G80, which has been in the market since November. - FTLJohnson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11your 7300gt, much like my x800... are about 70% of the way from a voodoo1 to being a X2800XTX
That's not too shabby... - erzz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11I am astonished that a card I bought at least 18 months ago is still top 20! (19 7800GTX)
For once I made a good decision :) - Verdanic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Well apparently my 7300GS 512MB is a piece of crap on that with something like 30FPS, yet I get over 100 with higher than those settings in HL2.
- TomP, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12Only 130 odd cards theres alot more then that surely
- RatTrap, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Mines not even on the list i think I need a new one.
- BlazeCloud, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Red means good, right?
- Stevethegreat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Inaccurate, X2800XTX isn't out yet and (as it seems) will never be. ATI's flagship series would be the X2900s, hence X2900XTX will be the best thing ATI will have at the launch of R600. Not to mention that R600 is two months away from its release, by that time there are great chances that nVidia will beat ATI again with a G80 revision (8900GTX). Putting R600s in the chart is a bit of a waste, it also takes away the light from the true king of graphics cards league the last 4 months, nVidia 8800GTX, I didn't buy it for nothing :) :) :)
- pcgeek101, on 10/12/2007, -14/+21Should upgrade to an 8800gtx, or .... TWO 8800gtx's :-)
Well, that said, I should probably defend my claim ... I don't normally buy top of the line cards. The last one I had was a 6600GT, and finally I decided it was time to upgrade recently. After gathering info from various sites about the 8800gtx, I decided that the performance margin between the GTX and the 640MB GTS was simply worth the extra money. People say "oooo, I can save $100 by getting the GTS," but with the 8800 series ... nVidia truly does have a worthy flagship card. - bigfatsmurf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Ah, the days of Wolfenstein. Didn't need no ***** for that *****, no! Just type MIL and start shooting Nazis. Best ***** ever.
- zetamilk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Loved that card. Just replaced it with a 7600GS but i still miss it..
- vagarach, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8What did he say? '***** car name that only uses numbers'. As in just the name. You must admit, Alfa Romeo Competitzione (or Brero for that matter) sounds way better than Porsche 911.
- DigitalJester, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7The site is actually quite good. But they've never been prepared for huge amounts of traffic. And I think digg counts as huge amounts.
- shifty2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6see voodoo 1 and 2
- psylence, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7drvelocity: Amen brother! Nothing like having to download a custom binary for your Quake 1 just to get acceleration. :) Quake 2 would've been in the ~TNT/TNT2 realm by then, would a V1000/V2100 have run it all that well?
- Jaq524, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6On a different list...?
- biohzrd, on 10/12/2007, -10/+16Yeah, Damn those sucky cars with only numbers... 350z, 911,...
- TheRingmaster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Still rockin the 9800 pro here as well
- trunkster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Not sure how they can do this just based on chipset. The manufacture can also make a difference with the amount of memory and how well they put the card together.
- OutofExile, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6None of these lists have notebook cards like the GeForce Go series, and they don't have workstation cards like the Quadro series either (except for the Tom's Hardware one, but it's a separate list and far, far, far from complete), so I'm doubly excluded, since I have a Quadro FX Go 1400 256MB. But it's roughly equivalent to a 6800 Go, so I could work with even that, if they had listed it.
I haven't owned a desktop in years. Plenty of people game on high end notebooks. Where's the love? =( - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6It's a feature, not an issue.
- psylence, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Younguns might not remember the Rendition V1000... This is _not_ every video card.
Sierra Screamin' 3D baby! Quake 1! - aznmikex215, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Why did they stop with using cool names in the cards title? voodoo, rage, geforce .. now its just a bunch of numbers with letters. How about Super Duper Panty Wetter X2800XTX Limited Edition Directors Cut WTF Extreme EE MMX WRX STI Limited Type P.
- Pie_Man, on 10/12/2007, -0/+581) 5700
82) 9600
83) 6200
84) TI4200
=============
I actually have 3 of 4 of these. I can tell you 100% that the 5700 is not faster than the 6200 and the TI 4200 is nowhere in the league as any of them...It is DX 8 too and can't even play many of the current games.
Don't take too much stock in these ratings. - danhillmoses, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5There isn't one of those lists with mobile graphic processors, is there? I've always wondered how my x1400 stacks up against some of the "real" graphics cards. I know I get better performace out of it than the 9500 Pro I have in my desktop, but I also have twice the amount of RAM and a much better CPU in my laptop, so it isn't really fair.
- Clark3934, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5After replacing the heat-sink twice, I've grown emotionally attached to my card.
- Daveoh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Apparently I'm 500th/502nd, or is that just a server error?
- flarn2006, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5My SiS 651_661FX_741_760_760GX_M661FX_M661MX_M741_M760_M760GX isn't listed! Whew, that was a clipboardful!
- drgruney, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I really thought my 4200ti was great. It's 8x! That should be awesome!
- JaySherman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5If they keep delaying the R600 they may as well promise to bundle it with a copy of Duke Nukem Forever
- DigitalJester, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4http://overclockstatus.net/
- nogami, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The other thing about this chart is that it's not perfectly linear either, being "twice as high" up the chart doesn't mean "twice as fast" (infact, depending on where you look, the increase could be far larger).
I went from an ATI X800 to a Nvidia 8800 GTX. FEAR would bring the X800 to it's knees under only moderate graphic quality settings and a reduced screen resolution. The 8800 can handle it cranked to the maximum quality settings without any difficulty at maximum resolution. Nice!
But I really don't have any brand loyalty - I've flipped back and forth between ATI and Nvidia a number of times, depending who's at the top of the pile at any given time. - Raian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I remember getting my first Super-VGA video card for my good ole 486/dx2 @ 25MHz.... if your card is 38 or 91 on the list does it even matter?-- think back to the 80-90s if you are old enough, and remember how things used to be.
- Tonyisbad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+47950GT is 12, thats nice. Now i know my video card is the 11th loser....
- koweja, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Without looking at the list I can tell that my card is ranked very, very low on the list. This is a known issue of $30 cards.
- LordMaul, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4#12? Not bad.
Unfortunately, I have a feeling that instead of penis size, your ranking on this list is inversely related to the amount of sexual activity you get in any given year. ;) -
