If you're looking for an inexpensive MP3 player, yes, you can probably buy one cheaper than you buy this one. Heck, you could get one used off eBay. The thing is with DIY, getting there is half the fun.
This is cool because it's a DIY project, and one that's actually useful, cool and self contained. Considering that, the price is pretty reasonable. Besides, they give you the schematic--maybe you can find the parts on your own for less. - topgoogletrends, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1free mp3 downloads http://offto.net/446

- CivilE, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Is that an Altoid sitting on top of that thing?
CivilE - Marmot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Saw the PJRC one. I actually build a similar kit from FrankVH.com (he's since stopped selling the kits, but he's left everything online in case you want to do your own). The thing I like about the FrankVH kit is that it has a USB2 interface for uploading songs to the hard disk.
- ultraelite, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0pointless, too expensive, there are cheaper DIY electronics projects for over $100 you can buy an mp3 player with storage (like the shuffle)
