- carterbaldwin, on 11/12/2007, -4/+189Sure, it gets 110 miles to the charge, but can it outrun a rapidly expanding sphere of mutating flesh and explosive spirit-energy?

- norman619, on 11/11/2007, -2/+49Dude, you are clueless. I used to have a crotch-rocket with race exhaust. You could hear me coming a mile away. Guess what? People still never paid attention to where I was on the road. It wasn't rare to have some moron try to get into my lane with me right next to him in full view. I left my share of boot bents on car doors to alert people I was right freaking next to them as they were turning into me. People in cars hardly ever look out for motorcycle riders which is why we have to ride VERY defensively.
- inactive, on 11/11/2007, -2/+48110 miles per charge with a Japanese rider. 64 miles with an American. 12 miles, if he brings his girlfriend.
- norman619, on 11/11/2007, -3/+44KANEDAAAAA!!!!
- ZenMojo, on 11/11/2007, -1/+41This is perfectly timed to counteract the rise of clown-themed gangs in Japan. And that's all I care about.
- DeadPain, on 11/11/2007, -1/+41$2100 for the scooter version :(
- marktastic, on 11/11/2007, -1/+31Just when I think you couldn't get any dumber, you go and do something like this... AND TOTALLY REDEEM YOURSELF!
- av4rice, on 11/11/2007, -3/+32Just put playing cards in the spokes
- Nerfdude, on 11/11/2007, -2/+31i believe you mean
KANEDA!!!!!!!!!!! - jswjimmy, on 11/12/2007, -7/+35I want one... not only does it look good but its speed is'nt that bad, and did i say i want one?
- xero69, on 11/11/2007, -3/+31The bike or the women?
- Nerfdude, on 11/11/2007, -1/+28if those ever go into production and come stateside, mark me down for one in red, covered with obscure decals.
- ihate2reg4u, on 11/12/2007, -2/+28CANADA!!!!!!!!!
Damn you, and your socialized medicine and mounties! - norman619, on 11/11/2007, -1/+24That's the best way to become an organ donor.
- inactive, on 11/11/2007, -0/+23110 miles with a top speed of 95mph wow, i wonder how far it will go at 60 mph. I would drive it to work daily , with gas at $3.00 + a gallon it would pay for itself
- rspeed, on 11/11/2007, -0/+22$25 and a trip to Radio Shack could fix that.
- inactive, on 11/11/2007, -2/+20I thought he leaned forward like a crotch rocket instead of sitting like on a chopper
- arobar, on 11/11/2007, -0/+17That's how I check my blind spot... By listening for engine noise. Visually checking is for chumps.
- majordanger, on 11/11/2007, -0/+16I am pretty sure you do NOT get top speed and maximum range at the same time. The physics of wind drag apply to motorcycles too.
The power needed to push an object through a fluid (air) increases as the cube of the velocity.
Ballpark guess is you would get travel at 95MPH for about 20 to 30 minutes. - Asianwaste, on 11/11/2007, -0/+16Yea we need them before the Clowns terrorize our neighborhoods.
- wtfhacksDan, on 11/11/2007, -0/+16http://www.cyberpunkreview.com/images/akira0119.jp ...
- chrisOrbit, on 11/11/2007, -1/+16Its close to the Akira bike but still lacks that bad ass chopper look. It's one step closer i guess.
- echo2501, on 11/11/2007, -1/+15KAORI!!!!
*sploosh* - Asianwaste, on 11/11/2007, -0/+14No lightning effect on the wheels when you rev it up.
- KidDynamo0, on 11/11/2007, -6/+20Only on Tuesdays.
- 47f0, on 11/11/2007, -2/+15EV mileage varies greatly depending on your usage - manufacturers like to boast their top numbers, i.e. top speed, and max range, but you don't get both at the same time, so that was a perfectly valid question.
- cbuddha42, on 11/11/2007, -0/+13If you come off a bike while trying to be the fastest guy on the highway then you better have some nice race leathers on or your organs aren't going to be in much shape to be donated.
- FadieZ, on 11/11/2007, -0/+13$2100?
I'm down. - 1jaxstate1, on 11/11/2007, -2/+14Damn, that's pretty nice. I'd ride one for sure.
- cbdgr, on 11/11/2007, -0/+11wonder how much the riders weight effects the max speed.
- LeeSoong, on 11/11/2007, -1/+12Needs to be a two seat version to succeed in the USA - most bikes can carry two people.
The gals like to ride. - MacEnvy, on 11/11/2007, -0/+10This is a commuter bike. If I ever have a 125 mile commute each way, please, kill me.
110 miles is pretty solid, though the solar panel and increased battery longevity would be great, I agree. If it costs less than $4,000, I'd consider replacing my sport bike and using it as a commuter. Sure is cheaper than a car, and no gas to buy either. - jknevitt, on 11/11/2007, -1/+11Looks like a scooter.
I prefer this one: http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/gadgets/vehicles/akira- ... - akira117, on 11/11/2007, -1/+11AKIRAAAAA!!!
- inactive, on 11/12/2007, -1/+11common sense would tell me that it would go fruther at lower speeds than it would while flooring it
- linuxrebel, on 11/11/2007, -0/+9Well if you live in the US you won't get to see it for another 15 years or more.
- Asianwaste, on 11/11/2007, -0/+8Ewww... great who's going to clean up this mess at the stadium?
- wrttnwrd, on 11/11/2007, -1/+9Throw in the backpack laser and you've got a deal.
- vincet, on 11/11/2007, -0/+8Observations from a biker.
Have a look at the front tyre pattern. That suspiciously look like it has been mounted in the wrong direction.
That super long wheelbase and feet first design would make the bike difficult to ride in anything but a straight line.
There is next to no ground clearance, take a fast corner and the sides will easily meet the ground. - arobar, on 11/11/2007, -1/+9Probably because they design useful products instead of spending money on other more useless things. Stroll in Iraq, anyone?
- MacEnvy, on 11/11/2007, -0/+8Weed.
- norman619, on 11/11/2007, -1/+8http://www.northarc.com/images/akira/Kaneda-Bike.j ...
Nope. This beast you rode like a hog but had the performance of a sport bike. - bagboyrebel, on 11/11/2007, -0/+7do we really have to choose?
- terriblelie, on 11/11/2007, -1/+8I would buy one! Only issue i see is that the seat needs to be a little lower and they need to include a jacket with a capsule on it. DESTROY THE CLOWNS!
