The military throughout history has always had the $$ for the building of toys that sooner or later filters their way down to the civilian public. Think Di Vinci's work as a military engineer. We already have cutting lasers in commercial use, but after this tech, think of all the cool ways of pumping out photons with these lasers.

    There once was only a red laser. Now there's a green laser and you can find a blue laser on thinkgeek.com for only a grand. I for one, welcome or new laser toting overlords.
