- hardcoredj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Specifications: Operating System Windows 2000 / XP
Build one for Mac and Linux and we'll talk. Until then, this is just a waste of my time. - NeoNevermore, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I agree, great for laptops, but I've noticed in the pictures that the taskbar hasn't been stretched out to both screens, unlike standard dual-screen setups where both screens act as one screen (note: the only picture that shows a seamless picture is for projectors).
I could be wrong, but even so, if you added a second monitor via USB (or third), it could display half of your display at a slower rate, making it useless. - Andir, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1While it sounds like an awesome idea, they make a note on the page stating it's best when used with low resolutions or still frame pictures. Video requires alot of bandwidth and USB is able to support this concept in small doses. Your not going to get high refresh rates and awesome resolutions on current USB technology. Besides, why add that to the task of things for your processor to crunch?
- mojofrojo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If they made one for the mini using the fire wire port that would be sweet. use the low resolution monitor for the control panels ( gimp, garage band, imovie, etc, etc...) and use the good monitor for preview. Don't know bought the rest of you, but I would buy that.
- steve693, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Or you could spend $50 for a 6600GT. =p
- lolipop99, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That would be an easy portable solution for guy like me that move around alot!
- keng, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0 tmar89
Yes, you can use this as a 3rd! :O) - KevinJ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Umm more like $150 ^^^
- sonofalink, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This would be useful for a laptop. For desktops its way cheaper to get a cheapy videocard and slap it in a free PCI port.
- steve693, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I meant $50 more, but I guess this is cool for laptops.
- inactive, on 10/01/2008, -0/+0Standard dual screen setups where both screens act as one screen, the only picture that shows a seamless picture is for projectors. I could be wrong, but even so, if you added a second monitor via USB, it could display half of your display at a slower rate
http://www.adidasshoess.com - usafkisser, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Holy cow, Keng, I've never seen anyone so excited over a USB adapter. lol - but good product. Could be the first step to something bigger.
- kr338r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0pretty cool, but kinda pricey
- tmar89, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I wonder if I could add a third monitor since I already run two monitors off my ATI card :-D
- luke--, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Good idea for laptops which don't support dual head (read: old laptops).
If it's on a desktop, that 99 dollars will get you the capability for an extra TWO monitors if you use it on a recent ATI or NVIDIA model that has fallen below that price.
Heck, I think you could get a dual head GF3 or 4 for like 40 bucks a piece. - nbx909, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i wonder if how good it looks and acts...
- ajcomet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow thats one of the first I have seen that can do a resolution above 800x600. Good find.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0cool
- sohmageek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Old news, these things have been around for atleast a year now, I was considering buying one till I found out how cheap a PCI card is and that doesn't use system memory.
- RyanPMcBride, on 04/23/2009, -0/+0Quality may not be groundbreaking, but it could be useful for laptops. Good digg, nonetheless.
- kenkyomausu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It'll probably have the CRAPPIEST resolution in the world. but if it doesn't that would be the best thing to ever happen to USB since the Flash Drive.
imagine, 8 USB ports, 8 Monitors... - Coheed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very cool nice digg
- betseyjohnson, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0I will get one for my laptop very cool.
http://www.betseyjohnsonshoes.us/ - Paiway, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I have 8 USB 2.0 ports and a Radeon... That means I can have 10 screens! o/
- GS13, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0A little pricey but still a good Digg
- JeffS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm thinking how many PCI video cards I could buy for the price of this...
- screwloose45, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0$100 is bs
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0i digg
- TheIguana, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Yuck USB, who in there right mind would ever use USB for any type of high bandwidth need? Not only is USB extraordinarily more taxing on the processor but its also slower in realtime tests than firewire.
