- Hassassin, on 05/28/2008, -5/+30I am Turion Ultra from the planet Zurian Mega Flop. I have come for your 1's and 0's.
- aserer511, on 05/28/2008, -3/+27Still 65nm? Oh AMD there was a day...
- piesforyou, on 05/28/2008, -2/+19Take me to your frontside bus.
- zantos420, on 05/28/2008, -0/+14So it's expensive, for notebooks, and still doesn't compete with the core2? Come on AMD, you need to get on top of that
- forceuser, on 05/28/2008, -1/+15I'm still going to stick with C2D's for a while.
- dullnation, on 05/28/2008, -4/+12I don't give a ***** who's the underdog, I just want the fastest processor for the cheapest price. In that past, that's been AMD and I've bought AMD. That doesn't seem like its going to happen again in the foreseeable future, perhaps never.
- MrViklund, on 05/28/2008, -3/+10I love AMD!
- mintblogger, on 05/28/2008, -0/+6These chips will be quite expensive. I suspect they wont be available as single piece on retail counter at the time of launch.
- V1ncent, on 05/28/2008, -0/+6Don't count AMD, it was a few years Intel was counted out after the Athlon 64. We need the power to go to the other side bigtime because it causes the rivals to counter-punch and this is what lead us to Intel's chips right now at low prices.
- inactive, on 05/28/2008, -1/+6Traitor.
- pyrates, on 05/28/2008, -0/+5I think you just went with whatever cpu was faster. And before it was AMD, now it's intel, and it could be AMD again. Never assume.
- craighoxton, on 05/28/2008, -0/+5Sounds like an intimate hygiene product for Transformers
- Oppslagsverk, on 05/28/2008, -2/+7K8 did=)
Though i don't think this chip will be revolutionary. - Velocity211, on 05/28/2008, -3/+6I used to be the biggest AMD fanboy, bashing Intel every chance I got, thinking my Athlon XP was the best thing ever. But when it was time to build a new rig I chose a Core 2 Duo and overclocked it to twice the original speed. Since then I haven't looked back at AMD ever again.
- MarkusX, on 05/28/2008, -5/+7Looks like AMD isn't out of the race, yet. I wouldn't mind seeing one of these babies in my next notebook.
- futurepastnow, on 05/28/2008, -0/+2I appears not. But mobile 780G should be nice.
- HonoredMule, on 05/28/2008, -3/+5Funny, when I bought 2 barebones machines a month ago, AMD were still the better deal by far.

Short version. Matching the performance of the best AMD price-point cost $100 more per platform, exceeding that performance by significant quantities meant another $1-200. - omgsideburns, on 05/28/2008, -3/+5Pea.. Tear.. Griffin?
- nobodyizhome, on 05/28/2008, -0/+1Too bad it's not Game Ultra.
- caleb4mj, on 05/28/2008, -0/+1Those.. Eyebrows
- Oppslagsverk, on 05/28/2008, -2/+2I think it looks promising. The graphics in the 780G is also good and low consuming, so i hope they sell a lot of them.
- diggafrica, on 05/28/2008, -7/+7I love da underdog AMD . I duno why but i've always preferred them to Intel
- hoopy22, on 05/29/2008, -1/+0I don't care if it's called 90,000 hectare lake.
- noloveIII, on 05/28/2008, -2/+1This news looks even better for AMD when you factor in the Montevina delay.
- dullnation, on 05/28/2008, -8/+5I don't think a single chip is going to save AMD...
- dullnation, on 05/28/2008, -7/+2Sorry, I should have said I don't think a single chip is going to save AMD *now*
They're just too far behind in the game. - grexeo, on 05/28/2008, -8/+3Peter Griffin > Turion Ultra
- NikoK, on 05/28/2008, -9/+2Too bad nobody really cares.
