-A - YourTechSupport, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10One picture is all fine and good, but show us how the damn thing plugs in!
If that plug only flips out, it's gonna be a pain in the ass to use.
Please tell me there's a wire tucked in there! - strictnein, on 10/12/2007, -3/+98 Gigabits? I prefer GB.
- moet, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3isnt it a bit large? iv seen smaller usb flash drives with larger capacities
- jcruzlara, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Time for AT&T to put all of our medical history in them.
- ZaNkY, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Scratch the 8GB number. The drives actually come up to 16GBs: http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/flash_drives/ocz_ultra_slim-large_capacity_mega_kart_usb_2_0_flash_card

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820227173 - raptordrew, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've been putting my PQI Intelligent Stick in my wallet for some time now; I love the thing, wish they'd develop more cameras to use it (it's about the size and thickness of a Sony (blech) memory stick)
- ITDefPat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1These are really significantly thinner than the regular USB sticks. I've not seen this model, but have seen similar. the cool factor might not get it in your wallet as long as you put it in your rear pocket. But it will if your wallet goes in a front pocket (your ass and back will thank you also), then your could put this in the wallet. Where this really hits is for people who have badges to get in office - these will fit nicely behind the badge with your pic! And if you dont have a badge, these should fit nicely in the shirt pocket (less clunky that the usb sticks anyways). Or get a lanyard anyways and glue your picture to the back side of this.
But think of this as a solution needing a problem - where could this help?
OR what tweak does this need - a loop for your lanyard hook? a case/clip to hook on belt or pocket (OK, that might look TOO much like a pocket protector).
Obviously they are going for a credit card look - what other form factor would make sense? 8GB eyeglass frames? 16GB belt buckle? 16GB shoes (that would be SO Get Smart, right?). Car Key sized might make sense... Or a watch? - donjaime, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah... I'm pretty tall and weigh alot. My heavy boney ass might destroy any non flexible object placed in my wallet.
- Rousterfar, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Cool, but not sure if I would keep it in my wallet. It's a little expensive to trust myself SITTING on it.
- dtd00d, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Yeah not to mention memory cards are already in these capacities, albeit a bit more expensive... (sorry for the really long link)

- ross., on 10/12/2007, -1/+2yeah, i call mine 'nano'
- OrangeTide, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1what's wrong with just buying two 4Gb SD/USB cards? I bet in 18 months we'll see 8Gb SD/USB cards.
- mgkwho, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0here's specs: http://www.pqi.com.tw/product2.asp?oid=16&cate1=16&proid=276
-=|Mgkwho - mariowario, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1hm...I'll just stick to my 512mb flash drive..
- zeiben, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I saw this about 6 months ago:
http://www.lacie.com/products/product.htm?pid=10268 - fiish, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That's not that great and looks too big to fit into a wallet without causing a decent bulge.
Thinkgeek have been selling an 8 & 12GB 'usbkey' for some time. Neither model would fit in your wallet but one is the size of a box of matches (8GB) and the other an Apple remote (12GB). They use a 1" HDD though not flash memory.
http://img139.imageshack.us/my.php?image=mypictureuy8.jpg - jav1231, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I'm down with OCZ! I fought it, Folks, I really did.... :o
- mgkwho, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Yeah- who want's to carry around yet another card in their wallet? My wallets are already stuffed enough, and I have two!
I have a really tiny one from a few years ago that's half the thickness of a usb port. It's micro. http://www.precisionflash.com/image/bIstick_20_2GB.gif .11 inches thin!
Sure it's a 4th of the storage, but it's probably about a 20th the size of that wallet card.
Now that's tiny!
(sorry, i had some digg problems above)
-=|Mgkwho - ross., on 10/12/2007, -3/+2heavy boney? isn't that an oxymoron?
- dtd00d, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1/edit/
