- frontaxle, on 06/22/2009, -0/+23Good to see Duval out there again...
- shutaro, on 06/22/2009, -3/+24Loved him in the Lethal Weapon films.
- serif69, on 06/22/2009, -2/+15I hate you, and so does every other person who watches golf and/or attends tour events.
- Jabrams2, on 06/22/2009, -2/+12The crazy part to me, is that after how awful Tiger played, his final score was kinda close to Glover's. It's definitely gonna be a lot of "what could have been" for him after finishing a few shots out.
- rwbrinso, on 06/22/2009, -1/+8I thought the crowd reaction for Glover was a little bit shoddy, considering he balled it up when everyone else was falling apart.
- trendygamer, on 06/22/2009, -0/+7"He didn't totally dominate..."
It's Bethpage Black...the only thing that dominates is the course. - bigthree, on 06/22/2009, -4/+11nice to seen an unknown take the title
- nullvector, on 06/22/2009, -0/+6Never seen someone so unexcited to win a Major.
Maybe he was just tired or something... - hootenanny1, on 06/22/2009, -0/+5I guess that now means waiting for the (British) Open....
Is it on yet? Is on yet? Is it on yet?.... - ethanator1088, on 06/22/2009, -4/+8Lucas Glover FTW!
- mysportsrumors, on 06/22/2009, -6/+10Most people were cheering for Phil especially with all he's been through of late, but me? I'm glad someone else won.
- coit, on 06/22/2009, -0/+4Tiger played awful? He had 3 straight rounds below par. Also one of the very few who played under par today.
Too bad he couldn't get a couple of putts to fall. - veganpa, on 06/22/2009, -2/+6Hey, Duval played great -- three birdies in a row under pressure! C'mon -- he's 882 (well, was) in the world -- he didn't choke.
Phil, on the other hand -- horrible at 15 and 17. 5 times runner up at the US Open now.
Way to go, Glover! - rbarnes, on 06/22/2009, -0/+4Three rounds in the 60's on Bethpage Black is pretty far from awful. With the exception of Thursday, Tiger had a solid week.
- hootenanny1, on 06/22/2009, -0/+4Did you watch the St.Jude Classic? When Phil finished his round and all those kids with cancer or similar diseases were standing in line and he took some time for every single one of them, gave them autographs, talked to them and CBS showed that for a pretty long time? That was very touching if you ask me, it definitely was the moment I decided to cheer for Phil .... well that and Tigers horrible performance around the greens.
- acknotSW, on 06/22/2009, -1/+5It should result in a warning followed by removal from the premises.
- camaroz06, on 06/22/2009, -0/+4I'm glad they finally got to finish, overall a good US Open. Yesterday was funny when Sergio had to go into one of the crowds for this 3rd? shot on the first hole. You have a pretty large group just standing in front of him...eventually he gives up trying to move them and he gets ready to swing, stops, and shouts you with the kid...you have to move. The galleries were Bethpage Beggars were out in full force trying to get all the balls, looked like a bunch of fun.
- GeekNurse, on 06/22/2009, -0/+3Lucas is getting to old for this *****.
- zombiecarlin, on 06/22/2009, -0/+3Well done Lucas. The media dejected by Tiger Wood's poor form were really excited by the prospect of Mickelson coming in for a fairytale headline grabbing sob story ending and sadly didn't give Glover the respect he deserved for clinching the title after playing in such ***** conditions.
- wonnk13, on 06/22/2009, -0/+3meh. Bethpage is great course, but no soggy like it was this week. The wave that went out Thursday morning lost the tournament before the second half teed off. Fans were drunk and inconsiderate, they barely clapped for him after lefty and everyone else ***** their pants on the back nine. moving the tees up on 18 backfired as no one made a birdie to challenge Glover. hopefully PebbleBeach will be better to watch next year...
- navidb, on 06/22/2009, -0/+3I hardly consider Duval had a bad finish, he started off the day with a triple bogey, then nailed clutch birdies in succession to bring him to the top before Glover pulled away on 16. Great open though
- ennuisquared, on 06/22/2009, -1/+3Sigh, will Sergio ever win again? Congrats to Glover, who was always near the top of the leaderboard in my Tiger Woods '09.
- rickyhagen, on 06/22/2009, -3/+5lucas glover isn't really an unknown player
- rickyhagen, on 06/22/2009, -0/+2Seriously, 3 straight rounds in the 60's at Bethpage is as good as it gets. Tiger just did not take advantage of his first round after the rain dely. Friday was a scoring fest and Tiger didn't take advantage of it. Overall, he played well, others just stepped it up.
- robdip, on 06/22/2009, -0/+2Damn i thought Mediate was going to give the top seeds a run for their money again....
i guess thats near impossible when you shoot 9 bogeys and the rest pars in the 3rd round. - ReDoEr, on 06/22/2009, -0/+2I always root for Lefty, but I'm happy to see Glover with a win.
- GeekNurse, on 06/22/2009, -0/+2GO TO YOUR HOME!
- GeekNurse, on 06/22/2009, -0/+2Wait, what?!
- INDOAZZ, on 06/22/2009, -0/+2Left for Dead after after 2006 ~ Now a Champion!
- sarno, on 06/22/2009, -0/+1Good to see he's not laying off the Twinkies!
- hootenanny1, on 06/22/2009, -1/+2Actually it's quite common to hear caddies or players themselves say "Get in the hole". Of course only when the ball actually has a chance, though. Not at the drive on a par 5...
- TexasShiv, on 06/22/2009, -0/+1Thanks for that..
- snagglefoof, on 06/22/2009, -0/+1Yes...
- BowlingStone, on 06/22/2009, -0/+1Absolutely. Would have been nice to see how things shook out if he made that putt on 17.
- Jabrams2, on 06/22/2009, -0/+1in all fairness, I'm referring to his body language as well. You saw how frustrated he was with himself after some of those putts. I found that between those and his shots seeming to be off for most of the tournament, it was an overall down performance for him.
- GeekNurse, on 06/22/2009, -0/+1Rain made it soft. Pretty low scores for a notoriously difficult course.
- phike, on 06/22/2009, -0/+1Who the ***** is Sergio?
Okay, but in all seriousness, Sergio Garcia sucks, he was never all that good to begin with. He will never win a major. - tooker, on 06/23/2009, -0/+1or didn't get that gawd-awful lie in the bunker on his first hole yesterday. That ball trickles back into the bunker he pars that hole or bogeys at worst. Instead he made triple.
- S7aind, on 06/22/2009, -0/+1http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northame ...
- S7aind, on 06/22/2009, -0/+1True, perhaps Duval is back. It would be nice to see him play like he did earlier in his career.
- tooker, on 06/23/2009, -0/+1Ricky Barnes is that you?
- paneech, on 06/22/2009, -0/+1I was kind of hoping Glover would choke and let Mickelson have it.
- mysportsrumors, on 06/22/2009, -0/+1someone can be the best guy in the world, doesn't mean i'll cheer for him thou. just never been a fan of us when it comes to the links
- rbarnes, on 06/24/2009, -0/+0Nah ... I hear Ricky Barnes hung himself with his golf towel after the final round.
- eattrn, on 06/23/2009, -0/+0Duval was the story of the week. This guy came back from farther than anyone ever. http://www.eattrn.com/
- zoethebitch, on 06/22/2009, -1/+1Calling Phil Mickelson "Lefty" sounds like something someone's 82-year old grandfather would say.
I hear/read it in the media all the time but it still seems anachronistic. - think2x, on 06/22/2009, -8/+3"Tiger" wins US Open is an apt headline.
Always good to see a Clemson Tiger grad doing big things. Way to make Clemson Nation proud, Mr. Glover. - stlredbird, on 06/22/2009, -8/+3I didn't know Danny Glover's kid was a golfer... and white.
- cokaznrebel, on 06/22/2009, -12/+6GET IN THE HOLE
