- louiebaur, on 07/20/2008, -1/+24Another interesting factoid. Padraig Harrington's distant cousin Joey Harrington is the quarterback for the Miami Dolphins.
- inactive, on 07/21/2008, -1/+22Wow, the Royal Birkdale is no joke - that is, at least, if I remember it correctly from EA Sports Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2002...
- irfanmp, on 07/20/2008, -0/+18I would've liked to see how Tiger would have done had his injury not cut his season short.
- inactive, on 07/21/2008, -2/+15Always, good to see an Irishman win the British Open :)
- aksn1p3r, on 07/20/2008, -1/+14He pulled it off in bad weather and with an injury... that is really commendable!
- danzarrella, on 07/20/2008, -0/+12/me golf claps
- inactive, on 07/20/2008, -1/+13Love this guy!
- daxxer, on 07/21/2008, -0/+11Shark was chasing and closing in!
- inactive, on 07/20/2008, -2/+13Harrington is a stud.
- Sanduu, on 07/21/2008, -0/+11Great for him !
- inactive, on 07/21/2008, -0/+8Warrior of the 1 wood
- AmyVernon, on 07/21/2008, -0/+8it's interesting with Tiger out to see how the rest of the field plays...
- inactive, on 07/21/2008, -0/+7Everyone except for Barry Sanders has been awful when they have played for the Lions...
- Cancerkitty, on 07/21/2008, -0/+7He had some beautiful drives.
- inactive, on 07/21/2008, -0/+6 Harrington rocks I am glad he took control of the game and swooped The Shark!
- Thrilltone, on 07/21/2008, -1/+7A better headline might have been;
'Shark Chokes on Irishman' - Cancerkitty, on 07/21/2008, -0/+5I can't stand Joey. He was awful when he played for the lions.
- AmyVernon, on 07/21/2008, -0/+4a sportscaster this morning was saying he's more comparable to Arnold Palmer. Who's not chopped liver, either...
- shutaro, on 07/21/2008, -0/+4Who is this guy, and why is he not Tiger Woods?
- shutaro, on 07/21/2008, -0/+3Heh... Wood.
- AmyVernon, on 07/21/2008, -0/+3I just hate the Dolphins b/c the fans are nicknamed Dolfans. Seriously.
- zombiecarlin, on 07/21/2008, -0/+3Yeah the same way it played last year with Tiger in and a Harrington win.
- quomen, on 07/21/2008, -0/+3I'm a little disappointed that David Duval performed so terribly in the last rounds.
- gadgetuk, on 07/21/2008, -0/+3So, you're saying he jumped the shark?
- Jared80KA, on 07/21/2008, -0/+2I shot a 96 yesterday. I'm about ready for the Open.
- Barbarino, on 07/21/2008, -0/+2Falcons...
- homah, on 07/21/2008, -0/+2That third round 83 was the killer. He was only +3 in the other three rounds combined.
- homah, on 07/21/2008, -0/+2He is also a cousin of "action" Dan Harrington of poker fame.
- shutaro, on 07/21/2008, -0/+2He many not be chopped liver... But he's not Tiger, either... And, if there's one thing that the sports media has taught me about golf, it's that you're either Tiger or Not Tiger.
- gadgetuk, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1He's a true gent and has really taken his role as Open Champion seriously, another year of Padraig at the top is a good thing for golf.
Roll on the Ryder cup :) - Barbarino, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1Worst open ever.... It was unwatchable...
- stockdam, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1Err get the facts right. Norman was leading and he slipped down past Harrington who played a great round in very difficult conditions.
- zombiecarlin, on 07/21/2008, -1/+2Congrats to Harrington retaining the Open is a fantastic achievement. Europe once again look set to dominate the Ryder cup this year.
- zadadka, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1The field plays as they do, Tiger plays as he does....the only difference is Tiger wasn't there....anything else is conjecture.
- tooker, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1That they do which leads me to believe the Americans might have a chance this year. It seems the better team on paper, which has been the Americans for the last several Cups, has lost. This year the Euros have the better players all playing better golf. Should be an interesting competition either way.
- bastardprince, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1shot of the tournament at 1m 50
http://youtube.com/watch?v=GtcloOEGHfo&fmt=18 - trousercustard, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1Nothing to do with his shot selection, although that was iffy at times, but more to do with him not playing much golf these days and getting on a bit in age. Oh yeah that and being the biggest choker of all time.
- barwe, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1OK I live in Birkdale (5 minutes away frm the course), and it is not in Lancashire, it is in Merseyside. People here are always trying to pretend that Birkdale is not in the same county as Bootle and other parts of Liverpool (quite run-down).
- Misanthrope, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1They're calling it a driver these days. I know...times change.
;) - 3leggedHorse, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1If Greg Norman new how to play percentage golf at times, that could have been a different result.

- stockdam, on 07/21/2008, -7/+1Why....or is that a crass comment. Is it great to see an English man winning the Irish Open?
