- lorddazzer, on 04/11/2009, -2/+20Every "hole" on the course is given a par rating. Say a hole is a Par 5. This means if the golfer takes 5 hits to get the ball into the hole, he makes "par".
A birdie is 1 under par (4 shots). There is also Eagle (2 under), and Albatross (3 under).
On the other end, you have Bogie (1 above), Double Bogie (2 above), Triple Bogie (3 above) and you get the idea.

I live a mile from Angel's stadium and about 2 or 3 from the crash site, and everyone's really saddened / shocked by this whole deal. The Angel's are a big, big part of life here in North Orange County and even there is a lot of racial tension here between Santa Ana / Anaheim etc., EVERYONE likes the Angel's and goes to their games... most of their games are sellouts at 40,000+ people attending
