- krystofr, on 08/03/2008, -2/+57That snake is just compensating for a huge penis.
- DeskFlyer, on 08/03/2008, -3/+44I'm guessing this thing would not make the cut for Snakes on a Plane 2.

- crmecozzi, on 08/03/2008, -2/+17It's not the size that counts :[

- RyanBlack, on 08/04/2008, -0/+12That's what she said.
- Oea420, on 08/03/2008, -1/+10it actually makes a lot of sense... i mean.. if you weren't actively looking for these supersmall animals, who would find them?
Most people would pass that snake off as an earthworm. - bitterbug, on 08/03/2008, -0/+8What's scary about it?
- RyanBlack, on 08/04/2008, -1/+9I want one as a pet :O
- Rhelim, on 08/04/2008, -0/+7That quarter is ***** huge!
- Anfidurl, on 08/04/2008, -0/+7I'm surprised scientists didn't discover this sooner. All they had to do was look between the thighs of men who drive Hummer H2's.
- ferrell, on 08/03/2008, -2/+8"When you get down that small, every millimeter counts," said Hedges
- joltjake, on 08/04/2008, -0/+6Oh God, let the dick jokes begin.
- Dested, on 08/03/2008, -4/+9Warning: do not read while eating spaghetti.
- bhavinp, on 08/04/2008, -0/+4Unless theres like a million of them. That would be scary, they can go into your ears.
- hartley, on 08/03/2008, -1/+5Lets see, Drudge constantly posts links to the biggest stories of the minute.
Digg is a user submitted site where the stories with the most/quickest popularity raise to the front page.
I'm shocked a story on Drudge is on the front page. /sarcasm - B08ama, on 08/03/2008, -0/+4I wouldn't worry about it.
- paikE, on 08/04/2008, -0/+4I hope you're joking.
- Torx, on 08/03/2008, -2/+5I would very much welcome that snake into my yard, termites suck!
- bob_the_alien, on 08/03/2008, -0/+3Exactly, non-venomous, so why should anyone be scared.
While allot smaller I'd compare it to our Common variety of Garden snakes, small, non-venomous, and doesn't hurt even when it bites, kids everywhere play with them like they are pets, Not Scary At All..
I'd have to say if I fount something like this, I would prolly fish with it, cuz seriously it doesn't look much different than an earthworm. - meamog, on 08/03/2008, -2/+5It's pretty great that the same biologist has helped find the world's smallest frog, lizard, and now, snake.
- nixpix66, on 08/04/2008, -0/+2his noodleyness the flying spaghetti monster has sent his children to wreak havoc on the Earth!! EVERYONE RUN!
- bhavinp, on 08/04/2008, -0/+2showed him.
- Managore, on 08/04/2008, -0/+2It's pretty great that the same biologist who invented the world's first shrink ray helped find the world's smallest frog, lizard, and now, snake.
- SneakyNinja, on 08/04/2008, -0/+2The snake in the article...
OH I GET IT!!! you were making a reference to...
ah... very funny sir... very funny indeed. - Ladymongoose, on 08/04/2008, -0/+2I guessing you could easily get it past TSA.
- snoogit, on 08/04/2008, -0/+2OMG cover your eyes!
"Snakes have lived since the time of the dinosaurs. The oldest known fossil snakes date from around 100 million years ago. The first snakes -- thought to have evolved from lizards -- actually had very small limbs.
Hedges thinks the new one may be at or near the minimum possible size for snakes. It lays a single slender egg that takes up a major part of the mother snake's body, he said."

Actually I wouldn't mind seeing one of these snake eggs, they'd be like BBs or something. - GTRagnarok, on 08/04/2008, -1/+3*/facepalm ASCII*
- Nosyn, on 08/04/2008, -0/+2*laughs at your name*...
- mserebreny, on 08/04/2008, -0/+2Bush's 'equipment?'
- adamantium, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1How will Jackie Chan's kitty cat fair against this most minute opponent of treachery?
- inactive, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1So many jokes... yet no comments on the fact that it will likely go extinct soon because 98% of its habitat has been destroyed, and what's left is under threat.
- ErickStevenson, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1Not bad =)
- snoogit, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1The 404 is more than just an atheist nightmare.
- xlilxthix, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1anorexia. it's everywhere.
*THE MORE YOU KNOW!* - hax0r, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1These are all over here in Miami, I've seen them my entire life. It's not as if these things just suddenly appeared out of nowhere, they have always been around and I'm sure many people have found them, seen them, held them in their hands, etc. I'm really surprised anybody thinks this is a big deal.
- DiggMistress, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1thats kinda sweet !
- Telionis, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1Ohhh, so cute...
- GRTWHT, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1Thanks for the info, but now I'm not sure which it was that I saw!
When I was stationed on Guam (a lot of years ago) I found one of these micro snakes in the bathroom and mistaked it for a worm until I saw it flick it's tongue - very shocking and kind of creepy to realize that there were snakes that small crawling around. - rhcp430, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1but will it blend?
- Stagle, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1apparently you people don't like futurama!
- Avaseal, on 08/04/2008, -1/+2I was gonna pseudo para-phrase Family Guy's Blue Harvest..but then I couldn't for the life of me figure out what the true unit of measurement for a thought process was.
