- EMFK, on 07/20/2009, -0/+14If you look at these without knowing they were CT scans, several could be mistaken for underwater creatures like jellyfish.
- Gediminas, on 07/20/2009, -0/+7When I attended radiology cycle in my university this year, the possibilities with the data collected with ct or mri fascinated me. I could not believe that with new technologies and powerful software you could reconstruct blood vesels, nerves, bones in 3d and manipulate the hell out of it. Now I am considering radiology as my residency of choice. (Also you get to sit in front of a computer all day which is connected to a multi million dollar machine. And internet of course :) )
- fety, on 07/20/2009, -0/+5Would be nice to see these as hi-res images.
- WallerBlog, on 07/20/2009, -0/+4Yes.
- emjaymj, on 07/20/2009, -1/+3Uh... CT technicians can operate the machine but they're not qualified to interpret the images. I don't see anything in this article that suggests he was actually taking over the role of a technician...
- homercles337, on 07/21/2009, -0/+1I like Waller, i dont like Mike.
- mlvassallo, on 07/20/2009, -2/+3"Radiologist Kai-hung Fung makes beautiful and informative art from the CT (computed tomography) scans of his patients, digitally manipulating them to look more appealing"
That, my friend, is a Recon. That is something a technologist does. There is no interpreting there. It is Imagine manipulation. I'm a PACS Admin... this is what I do daily. - ihavefrowned, on 07/21/2009, -1/+2You don't know anything about this field you supposedly work in. That is a technispherical imager and the radiologist usually has the dental hygienist do the imaging and report the CT work back the the CT Technologist sup.
- homercles337, on 07/20/2009, -1/+2So, if i apply a nonsensical color lookup table to an image that has a nonsensical filter applied can i call it "art?"
- greenkermit, on 07/21/2009, -0/+1i thought it was a vagina
- Djokuuskaj, on 07/20/2009, -0/+0Kai-hung Fung.
- mikemehak, on 07/21/2009, -1/+1No.
It's already been done. I would call it plagiarism. - pandaplaya, on 07/20/2009, -2/+1Jar Jar Binks?
- jayjayjames, on 07/20/2009, -1/+0I was really wanting to look up a chinese woman's nose today. This helped me accomplish that, thank you.
- skipvt, on 07/20/2009, -2/+1I wonder what he could do with the CT scan of my shoulder.
- inactive, on 07/21/2009, -1/+0If you look at these without knowing they were underwater creatures like jellyfish, several could be mistaken for CT scans.
- mlvassallo, on 07/20/2009, -2/+1I wonder why a Radiologist is working the CT unit and not a CT Technologist... All the Rad does is sit at the computer and talk into a little phone. I should know. I built his computer and little phone.
- Pulsedriv3r, on 07/20/2009, -6/+2I am the second comment of this submission that somehow made it to front page.
...Go ahead, digg me down, it's not like you're going to write a useful comment.
