- BigManOnCampus, on 01/06/2008, -1/+465Same reason you don't feed a baby chili, it would make a horrible mess that noone wants to clean up.
- Synova, on 01/06/2008, -4/+458Are you kidding? Look what happened last time!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xenu - scrumpy, on 01/06/2008, -5/+154I hear China is buying it up to build baby cribs.
- Renton, on 01/06/2008, -2/+130The fly should do a barrel roll.
- TheMarenum, on 01/06/2008, -2/+114I don't know very much about nuclear waste, or volcanoes, but that just sounds like a ***** up idea.
- sgtbutterscotch, on 01/06/2008, -0/+103Superpowers for everyone!!
- cwestpha, on 01/06/2008, -1/+69lets see...
volcano blows its top and suddenly we have radioactive ash covering a continent? Oh and when the lava spills over, because the spent fuel will melt and irradiate all that magma, it will more then just burn you if you touch it. It will burn you when you point at it and go, "cool, its lava."
and I will say: "Cool, you just took some time off of your life." - aussieNickuss, on 01/06/2008, -18/+84Scientology really is more insane than christianity.
- Unreal595, on 01/06/2008, -0/+62The real question is: Should we have American Gladiator fights above the volcano? The answer would be a total yes.
- zeptobyte, on 01/06/2008, -0/+57You're kidding, right? Volcanoes are bad enough; I don't want a radioactive one!
- l2OI3, on 01/06/2008, -2/+57What happens when our space shuttle pulls a Challenger and all the radioactive material contaminates the whole planet?
- luet, on 01/06/2008, -5/+53Jesus tap dancing christ, then we'll have radioactive lava explosions and EVERYBODY is ***** from the ash and nuclear waste fallout.
- Typhoon2009, on 01/06/2008, -0/+39This is the ultimate doomsday device! Put nuclear waste into a volcano that you know is active, and when the time is ripe, it will erupt and release its radioactive disease, SLAYING THE HEATHENS.
- Tyrghast, on 01/06/2008, -0/+36that's the best laugh i've had all day. granted, it's only been today for 35 minutes, but w/e.
- DarkNemesis618, on 01/06/2008, -0/+35Was it just me or did more people realize that incinerating nuclear material has no effect on its radioactive properties or half life
- aigulf, on 01/06/2008, -0/+34you couldn't hit the reply button at age 16?
- SicSevens, on 01/06/2008, -2/+34Do a barrel roll!
- spectecjr, on 01/06/2008, -0/+31Put as simply as I can... aren't volcanoes outies, not innies?
- absurdist, on 01/06/2008, -5/+36Can we attach lasers to the frickin radioactive lava?
Yeah, I'm drunk. and? - spyd3rweb, on 01/06/2008, -1/+28Is being an idiot encouraged or something?
- BestJaxx, on 01/06/2008, -1/+27Get off Digg, Tom Cruise.
- WindReaver, on 01/06/2008, -0/+24Watch Joe vs. The Volcano. It will explain why we do not do this.
- jmpeagle, on 01/06/2008, -0/+22wait, so the 3rd most wanted question was if dogs could be mentally retarded....I want to know the answer damn it. Don't tease us with 25 or so question in a bar graph and only answer 4 of them.
- DephexTwin, on 01/06/2008, -0/+21Mayor West, I'm afraid you have lymphoma.
- TheFiestyFaun, on 01/06/2008, -1/+21Didn't Superman do that as well?
- PorcupineTree, on 01/06/2008, -0/+20Eighth one down... Why are some cats softer to touch than others?
Over a thousand people with no working knowledge of physical matter voted for this. - shaun1018, on 01/06/2008, -1/+20Three words.
Angry Volcano Gods. - nreynolds, on 01/06/2008, -4/+23gotta nuke something
- ESTEBEVERDE, on 01/06/2008, -0/+18We're so *****.
- russianmike, on 01/06/2008, -0/+18I'm not claiming I have some sort of advanced geology degree, but don't volcanoes have a tendency to explode their insides back into the environment?
- adventchild08, on 01/06/2008, -0/+18uuiU is the most common one. I sir, have not been rolled.
- Nerolus, on 01/06/2008, -1/+19It would also ruin our source of cheese.
- mu0p, on 01/06/2008, -2/+19*****, we didn't even finish off the whales!
- Tyrghast, on 01/06/2008, -1/+18Q wasn't.
- postal21, on 01/06/2008, -0/+16• Is it "open sees me" or "open says me"?
wtf? people think "open sesame" is "open sees me?" lol! - Nis42, on 01/06/2008, -1/+17Current nuclear reactors only operate at about 2% efficiency. If we permanently remove depleted uranium we would be destroying fuel that can be used as the technology becomes more efficient. Nuclear fuel should continue to be stored in cement shields until they can be reused.
- pennyfan87, on 01/06/2008, -3/+19I imagined a unicorn when I was five without ever seeing one.
And I couldn't even talk yet! - johnpaul191, on 01/06/2008, -0/+161) what if the rocket doesn't make it? world's biggest dirty bomb. hope your continent is not downwind!
2) risks aside, it's cost prohibitive - phort99, on 01/06/2008, -3/+18Same reason you don't feed a baby medical waste.
- cambob76, on 01/06/2008, -4/+19Probably for the same reason they don't burn it, I guess.
- AnarkeIncarnate, on 01/06/2008, -4/+19you couldn't talk at 5? Wow....... mental issues?
- Muncher, on 01/06/2008, -2/+17No! That would ruin Futurama's continuity!
- deity, on 01/06/2008, -0/+15We've demonstrated the ability to drill bore holes over 5 miles deep, we could easily drill several of these and fill the bottom 1 mile with nuclear waste, then a cement cap and finally refill the rest with clay or some non-permeable material. If we did this a little way from a subduction zone the waste would in a few thousand years be pushed to the lowest part of the mantle not to come up for hundreds of millions of years.
- moofer, on 01/06/2008, -3/+17This post needed no followup - it stands on its own.
- 3amboo, on 01/06/2008, -1/+15because we'll have radioactive lava!
- l33tspam, on 01/06/2008, -0/+14no, no, let him keep writing that way, when you read it out loud it's kind of funny.
- danconia, on 01/06/2008, -1/+14If by "***** up" you mean the best idea ever! Too bad those volcanoes are too pussy and not hot enough for our radioactive waste.
- Otto, on 01/06/2008, -1/+14No, chrome the moon! It would make it shinier and light up the night much better, thus saving a lot of energy on street lighting.
- RSS14, on 01/06/2008, -1/+13You bastard!
