- Rikushix, on 10/11/2007, -29/+315Biggest ***** ever:
"Views about fossils have come and gone. But fossils themselves do not tell us where these creatures came from or how they died.
Fortunately, we have another source of factual data - the first book of the Bible, Genesis."
I rest my case. - rfwheeler, on 10/11/2007, -18/+233RE: "Only 1 in 3 teens (30%) say they will continue to participate in church life once they live on their own." picture.
Wouldn't that be 3 in 10? Apparently they don't believe in science OR math at the Creation Museum. - Chutch, on 10/11/2007, -47/+253The creation museum has it all figured out... I always wondered how all the animals on Noah's arc were able to travel across the Atlantic to get to the Americas... but the flood destroyed a lot of trees, and the floating logs created veritable rafts for the animals to travel thousands of miles adrift on the ocean to get to the other side... there is no scientific answer to this brilliant theory... I think they make a very convincing argume..... holy *****, who thinks of this *****... this is a joke right? This is either very scary or very very funny... maybe a little bit of both. Did you all know that there were no poisons, suffering, flesh eating dinosaurs, or weeds before the fall of man in the garden of Eden... I am kind of pissed off at that jackass Adam and his two-timing whoar eve... If it were not for them, I could be riding a t-rex right about now, and I wouldn't have kill weeds in my back yard... luckily all I have to do is believe in Jesus, and the promise of dinosaur rodeos can come true in heaven... ***** that, I think I am going to convert to Islam... the promise of 40 virgins is much more appealing than a weed free lawn. Wasn't this creationism v. evolution debate big in like 1910. Is America really getting so bad that we have a museum dedicated to the idea that the great flood created the grand canyon in 40 days, Noah's animals traveled across the sea on rafts, and the bible is a scientific document?
- reddevil3, on 10/11/2007, -17/+157Even the people of faith should be offended by this.
Cute wife btw. - amar5677, on 10/11/2007, -26/+142Im a christian but I believe in evolution and that the earth was created billions of years ago and this is because of scientific evidence, which this musuem has 0 of. Its a nice museum, but it only appeals to fundamentalist christians, other than that I view it as a waste of money.
- ruley, on 10/11/2007, -7/+117its like in the bible, they round a lot.
pi? yeah , lets just make it 3 - legendxx, on 10/11/2007, -13/+110All kidding aside.. that museum was nicely done.. besides all the wrong information it's presented really well.

This was the most hilarious caricature of creationism I've ever seen. Haha, as good as Flying Spaghetti Monster. :) - JavertHolmes, on 10/11/2007, -20/+88I'd like to make a Museum of All Religions at some point. It'll only have one exhibit:
1. Long ago, man was puzzled about the nature of the world. Creative people told stories to explain their past. Some overly confident, bored, or mentally off storytellers decided to tell these stories as fact.
2. Critical mass hits for some stories and these newly-created facts spread as sworn truths.
3. Someone embraces a set of truths and either puts them to papyrus, rock, parchment or garners a large enough audience that know him or her to make these truths more tangible.
4. As this set of truths are embraced, people see the potential power they can wield by embracing them and enforcing these truths on others regardless of whether they fully believe them themselves.
5. At some point, two or more versions of the truth collide and war follows.
6. Some religions die off as a result of spiritual warfare, while new ones crop up as variances on thousand-year-old ideas. The story continues today.
The end. - Dumbledorito, on 10/11/2007, -9/+76I don't see any movement to push athiesm per se; it's more of a reaction when the religious put forward ideas as facts that have no basis in reality, or try to legislate their belief system into law.
Also, calling this a "museum" is a lot like calling a the Elvis Chapel in Las Vegas a "church." They might have similarities, but the reasons for what's done there have little to do with the original concept. - kraemer007, on 10/11/2007, -5/+72Wait, if everything was created 6000 years ago then wouldn't we see stars 6000 light years away just coming online right now???
-Or is the speed of light not an approved theory?
- killerofkiller, on 10/11/2007, -4/+69i never used 22/7 in school, my teachers told me to suck it up and learn it to 3.141592653
- rgov, on 10/11/2007, -9/+65"The Bible claims that God created 'after their kind.' Nineteenth-century biologists argued that animals evolved from other, very different animals. Today, biology confirms that creatures reproduce within their own kind."
I think this is the best non sequitur of the bunch. - mjl5629, on 10/11/2007, -10/+65Get real. Those shirts were cool.
You're worse than a hipster when you knock an idea because you don't like their clothes. - timo1023, on 10/11/2007, -8/+61This is funny and all, but also very depressing.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -12/+65populationpaste - atheists have NEVER claimed to know the answers! What they do claim is that some mystical bearded sky-daddy IS NOT a viable answer!
If god is responsible for creating everything, then who created god!
Its really as simple as that!
Science - Where the questions might never be answered
Religion - Where the answered must NEVER be questioned - nolesshabitual, on 10/11/2007, -6/+58thank god for hot atheists
- flernk, on 10/11/2007, -7/+58Did anyone else catch that they are teaching evolution? Only, they teach that animals evolve, but humans don't.

Blasphemy? - fhernand, on 10/11/2007, -6/+56hmm, maybe the offensive part is the possibility of these people running the country and making decision on my behalf
- tentwentyfour, on 10/11/2007, -7/+55I love how one of the signs says "1 out of 3 teens will not continue church activity" and on the same sign in the background it says "30%." I mean, you've already completely butchered history, at least get your math straight.
- Thefatheroftime, on 10/11/2007, -4/+47The "fossils" are probably replicas...made of plastic. You know, plastic...made from oil...which was made um...somehow...some 6000 years ago?!? By God.
- theradical, on 10/11/2007, -9/+50Great, another idiot who has no idea what the term they're arguing against actually means. Just to make it clear for you, Atheism is not a religion, and claims no kind of guidance or answers. It is simply a blanket term used to define people who lack a belief in god. The ideals of these people are united in no other philosophical or scientific way.
- JavertHolmes, on 10/11/2007, -7/+46I don't have a scientific explanation. I'm happy to admit that I don't know how the universe was created. I'm happy to admit that I'll likely never know how the universe was created. I'm agnostic.
I'm happy taking in the incredible things the universe has to offer. I'm happy with the people out there who can do good things out there with the knowledge that they may not get rewarded in any way after they die. This, to me, is the true spirit of giving.
What do I live for if not religion? I'm just happy to be alive and will make some attempt at making the world a 0.000001% better place before I die. That's all. Nothing exciting, but I'm enjoying the trip while it lasts. - KMye, on 10/11/2007, -8/+47The fact that museum somehow came into possession of some fine fossils and uses them for that offends me deeply. It's sacrilege, I say.

- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -10/+48joclime, the bible states no such thing. The only reference to the value of pi in the bible is '3', which as any 1st year high school student knows is totally wrong!

"Upper Jurassic lithographic limestone"
By including that on the description tablet, they've admitted to the existence of Earth and Time prior to when God made Heaven and Earth (several thousandish years ago, according to them).
The Jurassic period was waaaayyyyyyyyyyy before that. - Easty, on 10/11/2007, -6/+43Magic man dun it.
- quiksliver, on 10/11/2007, -9/+42anyone know where i can buy the shirts the dude is wearing?

Well, yes. Yes it is! - Wonkanobi, on 10/11/2007, -10/+41Thanks guys. I really wanted to go and check this hilarious monstrosity out, but, as a matter of principle, there's no way in hell that I'd support them by paying an admission fee.
- Spartan009, on 10/11/2007, -4/+351 in 3 = 33% they believe in rounding
- retral, on 10/11/2007, -4/+32It's because.. uh.. god made humans immune to evolution!

What? Who uses 22/7 in school? The vast majority of people are going to use the "pi" button on a calculator when trying to approximate pi to a rational number, anyone who isn't is going to use at least 3.14159. The only time I've ever known anyone to even think about using 22/7 as a value for pi is when trying to pull a numeric value doing a quick calculation using just pencil and paper.
That 22/7 isn't equal to pi isn't news, Archimedes wrote the first known proof: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proof_that_22_over_7_exceeds_π
From your article:
"The real value of pi is 3.14159265358979"
Guess what! It isn't! - Rikushix, on 10/11/2007, -12/+39Has this photostream been up to the front page before? If not, then its not a duplicate. Just because you don't like what other people on digg like doesn't mean you have to find excuses for why you think they suck. That's like saying "OMG I'M SICK OF HEARING OF RON PAUL!!!111 BURIED AS DUPLICATE"
Jeez. - greymaxcat, on 10/11/2007, -4/+31Zeus is getting really pissed at these jerks.
- mikeazorin, on 10/11/2007, -4/+29@ Original Poster,
You're such an ***** that I decided to digg this story just to cancel your irrational burial. - smallestmills, on 10/11/2007, -10/+35Real atheist hipsters buy their hip Jesus clothes at Urban Outfitters. These people are posers.
Jesus is MY Homeboy. - barbobot, on 10/11/2007, -5/+29Since this is being said many times let me tell you why I get offended by this. I am not offended by people who believe in a god, many gods or anything in between. I am however offended when people misrepresent science. Postulating conclusions and then making up evidence to support their claims.
It offends me that they are using people who do not know any better. It is not a matter of whether or not god exists. It is a matter of misrepresenting science, and using people who don't understand such things to gain from it.
These people have never once been published because their ideas are not scientific. They fill in their questions with "God did it" That is not science, and that offends me. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -11/+34Aww, someone's a little embarassed for being a Jesus freak!
- xrod, on 10/11/2007, -3/+23Who are you talking to? While I doubt they're married, she's definitely the one with the flickr account.

Is Poseidon real? I certainly can't prove he isn't. But I'm willing answer the question, "No, he isn't." Until I find some evidence that supports his existence, I don't think there's anything wrong with my approach. God is no different. - reventlov, on 10/11/2007, -6/+24In related news, pi = 3.
