The Thugs of India
damninteresting.com — At its root, the word "Thuggee" means "deceivers," and this name hints at the methods employed by the cult. Bands of Thugs traveled across the country posing as pilgrims, merchants, soldiers, or even royalty, in groups numbering anywhere from a few men to several hundred.

- rabidstrike, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It might be interesting to note that hinduism has no single line of thought. an off shoot of shaktism http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaktas worship the mahakali http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahakali. Also note that all who follow shakti are not tuggee. In fact thggee is virtually non existant nowdays.
And further, people tend to follow lines of hinduism that mostly personify their personalities.
For example the Aghoris http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aghoris are so grotesque that its even cool.
Hinduism is very rad. - rabidstrike, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Ok I just found this..
