Correct me If I'm wrong but even Back in 2002, big text blocks where considered ugly.
Were bullet points, bolding and numbering introduced in Office 2003? - Futurejunior, on 09/08/2008, -0/+10I got to the end of that and did a "Wait a minute.."
Couldn't agree more - aforce369, on 09/08/2008, -5/+15I think I would appreciate their beauty more if I could see pictures or drawings of whatever made them particularly beautiful...
but hey, that's just me. - psion01, on 09/08/2008, -1/+10You, sir, have been identified as subversive. Nicely done.
- Yookji, on 09/08/2008, -0/+7What type of bot uses the name salesprofi?
- ThantiK, on 09/08/2008, -2/+7Here's a list of the most beautiful experiments of all time...WITH NO ***** PICTURES! YAY!
- Shiftyeyedgoat, on 09/08/2008, -0/+59 of the 10 are physics experiments. Maybe that should tell you something, you sociologist "scientists".
- Idietired, on 09/08/2008, -0/+5Yes.
- inactive, on 09/08/2008, -2/+5Agreed, I expected actual beauty
- Taiyoryu, on 09/08/2008, -1/+4dugg for classical science
- Brododium, on 09/08/2008, -0/+3This one, because 'totalrevenue' was taken.
- inactive, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2Ahh, so you can't read well. *hands you a copy of War and Peace with pictures*
- Jektal, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2The article also says that they only asked Physicists
- Testiculese, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2That's the Michelson-Morley experiment. Guess they couldn't fit it.
- Trebis, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2That makes me wonder how the experiments about to take place at the LHC will look to a far future civilization. Oh my, how promitive we humans were way back in 2008.
- neko6, on 09/08/2008, -1/+3Seems like the person writing this article only meant to consider Physics experiments. The Stanford Prison Experiment is an example of a beautiful Sociological experiment, and there are dozens more.
- sergiolopes, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2Haven't they heard of bold headings?
- Idietired, on 09/08/2008, -0/+1No.
Reading is for the weak, and books are about as trustworthy as bears and babies. I prefer to absorb information from the internet by pointing what used to be "the soft spot" on my head directly at the monitor and waiting until it's done. That's why I know everything ... because the internet is always right.
Seriously, it's 2005 already. Get with the times. - Feep, on 09/08/2008, -0/+1A good list, but I would have included COBE. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/COBE
- Ceriand, on 09/11/2008, -0/+1You can always use Unicode characters, 6.0 x 10²⁴
- tomz17, on 09/08/2008, -0/+1Michelson-Morley, and you have some of the details incorrect.
- RaulMuadDib, on 09/08/2008, -1/+2Wow, they are beautiful!

http://cleansecolonnow.info - nimadude, on 09/08/2008, -0/+1they didnt include the experiment where the constancy of the speed of light and the existence of aether was tested... I think they tried to shine light through a prism which divided it into 2 beams perpendicular to each other...and measure the velocity of both beams.. (they assumed one beam would travel faster due to the rotation of the earth I think)
- apophenic, on 09/08/2008, -2/+3Have you ever read a newspaper? Or, um, anything printed on actual paper?
- palehorse864, on 09/08/2008, -0/+1What about the Bauer air currents experiment?
So much beauty.
http://orlyrip.ytmnd.com/ - Luigison, on 09/09/2008, -0/+1Newton should appear on this list at least three times, but no... They only list him once, and for the experiment in which he made up a seventh color of the rainbow.
- V1ncent, on 09/08/2008, -2/+2Peanut butter + chocolate! Best experiment EVER!
- Shiftyeyedgoat, on 09/08/2008, -1/+1You call a group of college men acting as security guards in a prison treating their counterparts of college men acting as prisonguards with such disrespect an inhumane cruelty such that they rose up in rebellion causing the experiment to be ended early for fear of the lives of those involved, "beautiful"?
What, are you from 4chan or something? Leave the real science to the engineers, chemists, biologists and physicists, you liberal arts major. - cepiloth, on 12/11/2008, -0/+0The beauty of an experiments ? ^^''

That should have been 6.0 x 10 (to the power of) 24 or 6.0 E 24. I thought my browser was not displaying the superscript properly, but examining the page source shows it as "6.0 x 1024 kilograms". I can't believe it is been uncorrected after 6 years.
Shame digg doesn't allow html markup in comments - superscripts would be a lot easier. - Pinkertinkle, on 09/08/2008, -3/+2Buncha eggheads
- D3koy, on 09/08/2008, -2/+1This list will need to be amended by next weekend hopefully...
- insertcleverid, on 09/08/2008, -3/+210 Most Beautiful Experiments of All Time, the rejects:
Insert's booty experiment:
If I put her on a wooden stick does her rump taste like a Popsicle?
Sadly, no. But I"m still trying. (Ranking: 14) - inactive, on 09/08/2008, -7/+3I assumed Newton would take more than one spot on the list.
- picardo, on 09/08/2008, -7/+2Top 10 most beautiful experiments
10. Eratosthenes' measurement of the Earth's circumference
9. Galileo's experiment on falling objects
8. Galileo's experiments with rolling balls down inclined planes

Seriously...what a great find. - kishosingh, on 09/08/2008, -6/+1"Newton's decomposition" was in the top most among all.
- baldgye, on 09/07/2008, -10/+3so where's the list then?
