- GraceMolloy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+33damn straight. And if they want to keep getting it they better not lapse the payments. :p
- opnickc, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21"You are wrong, I am a virgin and will never pay for sex in any form. The idea of using a person far outweighs any personal gratification to me."
If commiting yourself to a single person for a lifetime isn't a form of payment, I don't know what is. Don't get me wrong, I plan to go that route. But I don't think you understood the parent comment. Whether you pay in money, in a relationship, or in a lifetime commitment, you're still paying. That was the joke. - screensnot, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20Some words of wisdom from my father:
Buy real estate.
Lease cars.
Rent women. - bbear, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15"IN GENERAL (there are exceptions), how hot a women you can get is inversely related to how much money you have."
Inversely related (or inversely proportional) means that the less money a man has, the hotter the women he can get. It sounds like you meant directly proportional, i.e. the more money a man has the hotter the women he can get. I'm not a dictionary nazi. - B111, on 10/12/2007, -5/+18@Hermitwise
"You are wrong, I am a virgin and will never pay for sex in any form. The idea of using a person far outweighs any personal gratification to me."
Well, now we can see why you're still a virgin.
Time to stop putting pussy on a pedestal. You'll at some realize that nobody is "getting used" that doesn't want to be (generally), and that sex is not as dramatic as you think it is. - B111, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13A smart man.
And yes we all "pay" for sex in some form or another. It is ingrained in our biology. We want to spread our seed far-and-wide, women want some sort of assurance that she choosing a biologically superior partner. Back in prehistoric days, it was the strongest man, or the man that could figure out where the food's at, or had the safest cave, etc.
Today, it's the man with the most money.
IN GENERAL (there are exceptions), how hot a women you can get is inversely related to how much money you have.
If a women says she doesn't care about a man's paycheck is either:
1. Lying
2. Or can't get men with money
Of course alcohol is a hell of a short-term equalizer. ;) - m00dy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13The most expensive investment men make is the one that is directly related to our penises. Let it be marriage, gf's or otherwise (whores) directly or indirectly, consciously or subconsciously
- nonsequitor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Men who hire prostitutes aren't paying for sex, they're paying them to leave when they're done.
- tylerdurdenclub, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4And I would argue those are some really expensive pancakes.....

Damn you Corvette Salesmen!!! - Dugg2Death, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5@both posters above
If you think a relationship is about who is going to be running the other into the ground at any given time... then you are simply bitter.
While life for damn sure ain't a bed of roses.. if you think you'll have to be the master in every relationship and your girl should be your slave, you're going to be alone for a long time. - HvRooyen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2A fairly recent story posted here is probably relevant to the discussion:

Just to clarify, it's only cheating if the relationship forbids such actions. I have many, many friends who are in relationships where getting sex (and even, in a few of the cases, love) from other people is acceptable. That's why it's important to speak with your significant other well beforehand to establish comfortable boundaries. - DrGonzo1184, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@ lakawak and Hermitwise
Get a sense of humor. - robottaway, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2LOL, yes you could probably create a whole website just on funny Google adsense advertisments. What about breast pumps on pregnancy sites? Or sport team toilet paper on a site for potty training your kid.
- LinuxConvert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Remember guys, this is supposed to be secret mens business! The girlfriends/wives out there aren't supposed to know you're paying for it on the side and if stats like this come out where a large proportion of the general male population is found to be paying for it it raises suspicions.
If you were to get a bunch of random guys off the street and lock em up in a room for a 'tell all about my life, anything that's said in this room stays in this room' you'd get some pretty sordid experiences and you'd be surprised at how many guys pay/have paid for it :D - heidivodka, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I have been quite shocked at the replies of this digg.
I cant beleive that a man in a relationship who will pay a prostitute for sex is getting the thumbs up from most of you.
be it a kiss, oral sex or just sex, its CHEATING ! I feel sorry for the women you'll be going out with in the future or currently are. If you are upset in a relationship, your partner doesn't feel up to having sex (no matter the reason) you should talk it out before going down the route of prostitutes and or other women. I dont think anyone wants to be branded a cheat, treat your woman right and you won't.
Remember if you chat online or email someone and have virtual sex, its still cheating in my book.
Anyway enough of the lecture, i have got to get back to work.

*shudder* - MrHen, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2FTA: "The scientists used survey data from a standard health screening questionnaire completed by more than 2,500 men at one British sexual health clinic from October 2002-February 2004."
"Although none of the men surveyed had HIV infection, 1-in-5 had a sexually transmitted infection, including gonorrhea, Chlamydia, and syphilis."
"The researchers suggest the figures may be an underestimate of actual behavior, since some men might choose not to reveal whether they had paid for sex. "
I would guess the rate of sexually transmitted diseases to go up when performing the survey at a sexual health clinic. Their sample may skew a few of their other statistics, such as the amount of people who have paid for sex. To say that 1-in-10 people at a sexual health clinic admit to having paid for sex is not the same thing as saying 1-in-10 British people have paid for sex.
I wonder if there is much difference between different clinics (they only surveyed one) and countries. What would a similar survey in the United States of America show?
Some questions along the lines of moral opinion would also have been interesting. - heidivodka, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2@ifonly
you VILLAGE IDIOT, how did you come to that conclusion - disturbed, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4If you take away the last insulting part, m00dy has a good point. I hate seeing my friends turn into a "doormat". It's sad.
- DaffyDuck, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1He's not an idiot. He's just juvenile. I'm guessing 7 or 8 years old judging by that comment.
- buckleyTim, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow I feel so relieved to know that other men pay for sex too. Sometimes I feel bad about my self because I have to pay girls to look at me, thank god you guys are in the same boat as me.
- PEteandPEte, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0i didnt know i was being studied?
- mistatwista, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I completely agree with that. That is the first thing I thought. Upon reading the article I also noticed the title isn't even correct. The statistic is 43%, which would mean that most men who pay for sex are not in a relationship.
- m00dy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3yes my comment was kind of offending but it had true meaning...but its a wake up call, like disturbed mentioned. I don't like seeing any of my friends turn into doormats, nor man kind for that matter.

in a relationship your either the doormat (which sadly most guys now are shame on you, you know who you are) or the foot that is stepping on the doormat (this is where you should be you pussy whipped sad excuse for a male)
no but seriously dont take this lightly, and if you dont understand the concept above, then, god help your miserable life. - ihate2regist, on 10/12/2007, -10/+5there are more ways a guy pays for it
- LeslibsLesCrime, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1"All men pay for sex.. the only difference is the label and method of payment."
- daldredge, on 10/12/2007, -13/+7Almost all men pay for sex one way or another.
- firehydra2k, on 10/12/2007, -14/+2Men ages 34? Wow, they must be desperate...
- maxemim, on 10/12/2007, -20/+8the comment all men pay for sex is rubbish...
simple fact is a relationship is give and take... and you have to give to get back...
you might as well say all men pay for there food or live in a clean house...
in a good relationship you both do your part... and becuase women are more governed by there emotions it is easier to get sex from your woman when she is happy... if that happens to be because you bought her something or becuase you helped her with house work.. its not paying for sex... it is making your partner feel good and therefore special and wanted..
the most expensive investment we make should be related to our family and our children so of course it will involve our wife, girlfriend... i dont think investing in whores is a good return option... but kids are priceless
i dont pay for sex .. i work hard at my relationship there is a massive difference...
and thats why on sunday morning i can get sex and pancakes..... : ) - elvis314, on 10/12/2007, -16/+3I think we have it backwards...women pay for sex just as much as men do.
- Hermitwise, on 10/12/2007, -25/+6You are wrong, I am a virgin and will never pay for sex in any form. The idea of using a person far outweighs any personal gratification to me.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -35/+7You guys may want to try getting into a balanced, emotionally stable relationship. Most women who are professionals refuse to let their boyfriends pay for any more than they do for that very reason.
You obviously don't have anything non-monetary to offer women I guess.
