It's the sex that's the problem, not the people involved. Unprotected risky sex is the problem. Not a person having an attraction to someone of his own sex. It would be best for all people to know that, especially those in Africa (who we won't be telling it's rare unless you're gay). Odds are actually MUCH lower than 2% of a straight man getting infected from vaginal intercourse. However, there are variables that can increase the risk factor. such as open sores, existing weakness in the immune system, etc...

This is how infected cells interact with uninfected cells. What you are stating is how the virus interacts with a cell. The free floating virus attaching itself to the cell wall still stands.
