How much for the whole kitten? - cadavreexquis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+43Amen. I intend to have my children raised outside by wolves.

4G is nothing to sneeze at.. - davidleeroth, on 10/12/2007, -3/+30No longer be afraid to kiss your pussy!
I don't think anybody can reach that far! - Luftwaffle, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23Can I kiss someone else's pussy?
- Aidenag, on 10/12/2007, -9/+26you know the best way to make sure a child isnt allergic to cats... Expose them to cats as a child...... i love how people keep thier children so close and safe now from everything possible.. they grow up to be asmatic, Allergic OCD frieks who are afraid of small dogs that cross thier path...
- eberts, on 10/12/2007, -4/+21I dare anyone NOT to riff on the last sentence in this digg. It's impussyble...damn, I'm out!
- dubski, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19Hang on, I'll just check if grandma is awake.
- halicon5, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12I wish that not being exposed to allergins as a child was the actual cause of allergies. Too bad that isn't how allergies work for all people. If that was the case, living in Wyoming and being surrounded by animals as a child should have saved me from allergies. As it stands, if it moves or grows, I'm probably allergic to it.
I really don't like this genetically engineered hypo-allergenic cat concept. My roommates have been bugging me to allow us to get a cat for ages and I always use the "sorry, but my allergies will kill me" excuse. So now the only excuse I have is "I can't afford to spend $4000.00 on a cat."
Now I'm not sure what the going rate for pussy is since I prefer the free market, but isn't $4000 just a tad expensive?
(sorry, but I had to make a gratuitous "pussy" comment... everyone else is doing it.) - mrwiggly, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11You could always shave cats, which I understand reduces many peoples allergies dramatically. Do a search for 'Shaved Puss.. - ah - never mind... Ignore that...
- coolmos, on 10/12/2007, -10/+21I've had cheaper pussy.........and no sneezing whatsoever.
- AlexApetrei, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15Yay, now everyone can play with pussy. :)
- f00xx0riz3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10This also explains why so many diggers are virgins. They were never exposed to pussy (sic) as children, and thus, they're still allergic to it.
- rm999, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12The person I know with the worst asthma actually got it from heavy pollution in a city. So I guess you want to avoid both extremes.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11I always loved pussies.
- lukas88, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10I think the term you are thinking of is "germs" not "Allergies". It has nothing to do with building up a resistance to it when you are a kid. In fact, allergies are actually resistances your body has built up to benign substances that it mistakes as harmful.
heres hoping you never have kids! - cadavreexquis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Just as long as they don't zap the domestic cat's 'screw you, silly human' gene.
- Scooley01, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10...No. Just no.
Anyway, on the subject ACTUALLY at hand, I think it's a...creative approach to pet allergies...No no, don't treat the people WITH the allergies, simply grow pets that don't trigger them! Fine use of funding, I suppose. - Antrex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8It's not like I have any trouble breathing, but whenever i get too close to a pussy i get all swollen =(
- fallscrape, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Gah... it was only a matter of time on digg till a story like this came along!
Then again like myself who is allergic to cats and owns three I can truthfully say that eventually your immune system eventually accepts them - it's only the neighbours or other animals you meet in the street that cause the real problems. - drakonite, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12(Over)exposure to something can cause an allergy to develop.
- DoubtfulSalmon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6@brufleth: "Well prices will certainly drop as more and more of these cats are bread."
Er, I think the "eating pussy" thing is a figure of speech, OK? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I hear many people are allergic to explosives these days. I'm going to raise a family of superbeings by exposing my children to landmines. The ones that survive will be unstoppable!!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Finally. I can enjoy the company of a cute kitty cat without breaking down wheezing for air like a wussy.
I'm asthmatic, but I just love cats and dogs. Hooray! - mckinnej, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Anything that talks about kissing pussy must be dugg.
- Cheeseness, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4It's OK. It happens to the best of us.
- Mischa, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5i usually wait a few weeks and get to know the person before I put my lips on anyone's little kitten
- mistshadow2k4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Then it wouldn't be a real cat, now would it?
- hereisandy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Devon Rex have been around for a while, they are short curly haired cats and they also claim to be hypoallergenic
- aThing, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5UnrealAlex, intresting. But Aidenag meant exposing them to stuff they can get allergic too *before* they get allergic to them.
- n3xu5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3http://www.jabansiberian.com/index.html
In 1995 Breeder Lynda Nelson of Kravchenko Siberians accidentally discovered the non -allergic qualities, sometimes referred to as hypo-allergenic qualities, of the Siberian cat.
The theory is that the Siberian produces little or no dander, thus allowing allergy sufferers the pleasure of being in the companionship of the Siberian Cat without runny eyes, sneezing and their breathing being compromised. Scientists state that it is likely the Fel-D1 protein usually found in the cat's saliva, and drying as dander on the coat as the culprit, and an enemy of millions of allergy sufferers. - greenlight2001, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"I am a girl"
Sure you are... ;) Girls don't vist DIGG.com, I'll believe it once I see a picture of your pussy... *ahem*... cat... a picture of your pussycat with you in it as well. Yeah. - bshock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Allergy free cats? A good start, but how about genetically engineering one that doesn't die after just 15-20 years? It takes me years to get attached to a cat, and then it dies on me.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"No longer be afraid to kiss your pussy!"
Dugg just for that. - Gatesophile, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Haha I am a girl and I am digging for the pussy comment. lmao
Oh, and that'd be pretty cool. Having a cat that won't make allergic people allergic... but wait, that's MY cat, so why should I care if other people are allergic?! Hmph. - RandomWhim, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The "the domestic cat's 'screw you, silly human' gene" is indeed the other thing keeping them out of my house.
- igjoe, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4That's great that you get modded down for actually voicing your opinion rather than telling a lame joke... I agree, kind of a waste of money in my mind.
- briansalo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2For a discussion's sake, I think they should have done it the other way... Like create a better allergy antibody for humans instead... If we want it, we should be modifying ourselves, not change everything else for our own muses...
- dwhitbeck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2What if this cat is allergic to humans?
- AlexApetrei, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2you will build up an imunity to that.
Eventually you will get to play with it for a while and only after that get swolen. - revthwack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Koreans go for the dogs, not cats. After all, dogs > cats... on a plate.
- brufleth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well prices will certainly drop as more and more of these cats are bread.
Treatments for allergies are expensive and not always effective. Maybe a hypoallergenic cat could actually save money (given you MUST have a cat) in the long run. - Smoove, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That's what the free market is for. If people want hypo-allergenic kitties, they'll pay for them, and someone else will create them. But never fear: the price will come down within a few years. Unless the bio company neuters and spays before shipping, you'll see these kitties getting together--and within ten years, there'll be signs along the road saying, "Free hypo-allergenic kittens."
- colinmhayes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2last time I checked the Siberian cat has been around for hundreds of years. Their saliva lacks the protein that creates dander, we've had this proven scientifically for 11 years now.
- clintology, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Bengals are naturally hypo-allergenic, will only run you $500-$1000 and are probably about 10000 times cooler:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bengal_%28cat%29 - unitedkronos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't think they did this just so they could 'kiss the kitty' and get no infections from it...
- gcpeart, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, nothing new about them, just not a widely known property of the breed.
- mcarolan, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5dogs > cats
- CaptHarlock, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4I... for one... am happy to become a pussy kissing overlord...
- CiXeL, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1how about some new news? i heard about this a few YEARS ago on cnn.com
